Day 11
Made some lables...
Imperial scored them fine....
Then discovered the old sheet I found wouldn't stick to anything.

Day 12

Might be time to switch horses.  Off-brand Camillus electrician's tool.  This one is stamped Craftsman for sale by Sears.  Nothing but a TL-29 with simulated wood-grain Delrin handles.  I think Camillus labelled it as a Model 27.  It was also sold as a Dura Brand.  Large blade.  Screwdriver/wire stripper that locks open.  Half stops on both blades.
This was the cheapest knife listed in the 1981 Craftsman catalog.  The wood handled military models probably have a better feel that the rather greasy Delrin.  Very practical medium weight carry utility knife.  Stainless steel.  I put a lanyard thingie on it.  I never have been a dangler person, but I will give it a shot.  The shackle has enough stiffness to fold down out of the way and not flip around so much.  I must have had one of these knives before.  I certainly saw plenty of them.  How about some catalog photos?  Best wishes.  G

My father in law was an electrician.  I have a couple of those lying around.  They're well built!

Day 12:   Just hanging out!

Day 12

Finally, some can opener action.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

It got the job done. The word I'd use is "arduous." I'm not sure if it's not sharp enough, the hardness is a little off, or it's just a bad design. I had to exert too much force with every cut. Pushing away from myself was even worse than pulling towards myself. Perhaps I'll try it again sometime, but it now stands as one of the worst multi can openers I've tried. And yes, I eat counterfeit Spaghetti-Os for breakfast.

And now for something different...

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

That is a Schrade 707UH. It measures 2.875" closed, and features a clip point blade, scissors, and an itty-bitty bail. If memory serves my correctly, it wasn't in the line very long, so I'm guessing it wasn't a brisk seller. I also believe it was the only Uncle Henry model with scissors. This one was made in USA; I don't know if it was resurrected after Schrade went bust.

Actually the store brand products have better flavor than the originals.

Yes, I have same issue with pull can openers. Not even worth trying as cans are likely made with better steel than imitation tools.

:iagree: on both counts.  I was curious about how that opener would work.  I know Explorer and Adventurer Mike Horn uses a Swiza knife, but I doubt he's opening many cans anymore. Everything is vacuum packed.

Went out of town for a couple days, so playing catch-up on posting

Day 10
No real use, so a picture of the S31 with an Apple Cider Donut sundae.

Day 11
Spent a lot of the day at the D-Day Memorial.  I’ve been wanting to find an opportunity to visit the Memorial since hearing about it early this year.  I finally had a couple days free to get out there and so glad I did.  The memorial was amazing.

Day 12
Decompressing with a beer opened by the Armbar after getting home.  The Armbar bottle opener works well for lifting the tab on the can.

Great job folks!

@Fireman - That's a good looking Adler.

@Farmer X - Nothing wrong with any kind of spaghetti-os, any time of day.  :tu:

@SOS24 - That sundae looks good!

Day 12

It's not fancy but homemade stroganoff really hits the spot.  Took a little bit longer to eat with the Mikov but very doable.

May the best of your past, be the worst of your future.

Another day, another box....

At this point I should just try a challenge of of cutting a box every day.

* I'm joking. I'm not going to do that, ever.

Day 13

Today is Saturday the 13th, so be careful people.  Beware of black cats and entities that possibly drive little blue cars that disappear and then return.
I am still being plagued by a smurfstorm of come-on ads here on MTo wanting me to click on photos of 'famous' women wearing a Bikni, or other undisclosed articles of clothing that leave nothing to the imagination.  I am getting fewer ads for the plastic adjustable sewer fittings than before.  Just when I was starting to get interested.
Opening a bottle of Greek style salad dressing.  Tried some on some sliced tomatoes.  Strong as battery acid.
Best wishes.  G

LUCKY 13  The Hoffritz Partner is a Fieldmaster knockoff.  It does not feel as solid as a Vic, but it has stealthy black coating.  :tu:

Today is a day to show an SAK-Alike with the real thing. The Evo 23 was a birthday gift from Mrs. FX, and she would have celebrated her birthday today.

I alwso dug out the Gerber Curve and slapped it on my keychain. As it was a surprise box pull, it's now my turn to put in a plug. Another surprise box should still be making rounds in the EU.

These are great posts!

Day 13: Some fun with MREs last night!  Mrs R and I decided to use a couple we had for dinner.  We have a stock of them in case of the (more frequent and longer lasting) power outages.

Day 13

At my  Marsh area conservatory, named EAGLE MARSH, a wetland restoration project, today is MONARCH DAY!

Large sections of grasslands have been planted with MILKWEEDS.  The main food plant for Monarch butterflies during the late summer migration in route to the winter forests in Mexico.  Their path crosses my back yard too!   One at a time the started appearing in early and mid August on their journey.

At the Marsh this morning completing tasks assigned, complete before crowds, just made it too!

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]
Dropped my SIGNAL, mud was caked into some crevices and the GI Joes can opener was useful to get it tidy.

And then…

A beauty shot by itself, so temperamental🫣
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Perhaps the best-designed tool on the T2.  Primary function works as intended.  Rectangular shank to apply extra torque if needed.  Secondary function that doesn’t interfere with the primary.

No usage today but interestingly, using a photo filter really brings out the gunk on the blade.

Maybe tomorrow will be spent doing some cleaning
