For me the scissors are often the challenge within the challenge.

Did the scissors fail?  Bag appears to have yielded but not open?

Gerber's scissors are okay, but just okay. Which is embarrassing since Fiskars owns them.

Day 15

In addition to the JOTS, I replaced my keychain SAK this month. Not gonna lie, I really like the Trim Trio. It's not as good as a Classic, but it's a strong contender for the best non-SAK keychain tool. Small enough to actually be comfy on there (unlike a lot of "keychain" pliers) and all the tools seem to work correctly (great file). If they still made these things and kept the price low, I'd give them as gifts and/or recommend them for people now that the Classic has made its way north of $20. (Might as well just pitch in the extra couple-five and step up to the Rambler now.)

I carried something just like this on my keys for many years as a kid and young adult....my Dad brought it back from a trip to the US. Still got it and bought a newer one more recently.
Such a useful little tool, opened many a beer bottle :)

Day 15

I have elected to play around with the Leatherman Free T2, T4 and Gerber Armbar drive.

I 3D printed some thumb studs to help with the OHO, and I think it helps but it also depends on how tight your multi tool is.  I also decide to 3D print a new middle section for the Free T2 to be able to add additional tools.  The first one I found had openings that were too large so the tools would slip out.  I found a remix of the first one which made the tools fit tighter, but I found that it made them fit too tight.  I ended up modifying the first one I found to make the tools slide in almost right.  This one makes provisions for a Vic toothpick, tweezers, pen, and a Tortoise Gear Firefly.

If anyone would like a 3D printed stud or a T2 middle section.  Just message me your address, your preferred color, and I'll send it your way.  I'm curious to see if y'all find it beneficial or not.

Cheers!

Opened a blister pack. Bad pic, but a pic nonetheless...
Which makes it infinitely better than the nonexisting pic of cutting plastic tag ties with the scissors earlier

This is probably the worst pic I have ever posted.

(Not counting my 1st digital camera in 2000 which was only at 160x120p)

Well done!!! No T2/4 or Armbar in my possession but I really like such projects! Especially the T2 middle section seems to be great improvement.

Day 16

So far, the paracord dangler on the TL-29 isn't really bothering me.  The shackle pin on this tool seems to be located farther back than most of the others.  Not sure exactly why.  The knife tip on this one was slightly bent to one side.  I straightened it out mostly.  Logical thing to do is use the knife blade to pry something when you have a screwdriver you could use.  The blade was scuffed all over.  I polished that about 95% out by hand.  Knife was full of black grease and crud.  Someone's utility knife in the past.  Cleaned up pretty well.  Didn't need to be sharpened.
I crept out to buy some groceries yesterday.  My eyes were red, so I put on some dark blu-blocker shades.  I was just passing Ms. Phoenix cottage up on the little rise and thought to take a glance.  The little blue car was gone and in its place was an identical little black car.
After I drove a little farther, I thought.....   Might have been the little blue car that I saw.  Bleary eyes.  Dark glasses.  Might have been blue.  I decided to take another look when I got back.  Parked in my driveway with my groceries.  Walked down to the mailbox.  Junk mail.  Started down to the cottage.  Couldn't see much for the overgrown trees.  I would have to walk down on the pavement mostly to take a gander.  Too many people flying low on this road.  Black car or blue car wouldn't matter much if someone knocked me into the river.  I took my junk mail and drove home.

Neither have tweezer or toothpick scale tools😱.  14 more days

Maybe that is the real reason Victorinox is yet popular with the world?

Oh, oh, I just recalled I have another gadget knife that may qualify.  Needs cleaning, a lot of cleaning, and definitely oiling. A monster type of tool.   Where is it ?  Come out come out where are…

That's a cool project. I wish more companies would work on scale tools. It's free real estate, and in ~100 years I don't think they've come up with more than 10 things to cram in there. Surely somebody can get me some cool new idea.

Day 16

Scissors were needed for today's task, so out came the Armbar Scout.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The scissors did quite well on the old T-shirt. But the job was a bit of an ordeal. Why? I'm not a fan of pocket clips in general, and this one in particular caused my hatred of them to violently reflash. It creates a horrendous hot spot, and the tip dug deeply into my palm. The offending object may be removable. If so, it will be gifted a one-way trip to the landfill.

Day 15:

Kershaw Good Buddy--I'm thinking '70s vintage? These were fairly early, and made well into the '90s. Japan-made.  I also have a different model I got alongside it--money clip with blade and scissors. Was my money clip for years--as I thought I lost my Ambassador Money Clip--turns out, it was wedged for 5+ years under a dresser drawer! I hadn't gotten rid of the T-Shirts that I never wore in that drawer, and had I not pulled it out, I never would've noticed.

Blade and nail file, screwdriver, and bottle opener combo tool.
