Blade Show '25
on: June 07, 2025, 03:54:12 AM
Hey guys I'm at Blade Show this year. Today I spent getting a lay off the land, tomorrow I'll be dropping business cards and talking about the site. Anyone want to know anything about the going ons? Any pictures we want? Product I need to look at? Looks like Victorinox, Leatherman and Gerber are not here unfortunately. But from a knife perspective everyone is here.

I did get to meet Ray Kirk today off Raker Knives, someone Grant and I have known for almost two decades. Was great to put a face to a name and even more awesome that I picked up one of his knives for my collection.

There's a new multitool from Roxon I hadn't seen that I'll take a look at, someone on Facebook mentioned a new SOG one. Even though I didn't see one I may have overlooked it. Reporting "news" is difficult because it's very overwhelming. I'm on the hunt for another small custom fixed blade, something with an Ulticlip and leather sheath. Let's see what I can find that won't break the bank lol. Some people dropping serious cash.

I did get the play with the new knives from Work Sharp. Deep down I'm not too impressed. Yes it's an integral magnesium handled knife that can switch from manual to auto via a cassette but it's very strange opening and closing. No thumb studs/hole and the button lock acts like an auto all the time in which the button locks the blade open and closed. So you push the button in, wrist flick to open and it will then lock. Not sure I like it.

The Flex Companion awlways felt very bulky for what it was to me. Not sure if the baby one will fix that (shorter) or seem worse (similar other dimensions). Is that a built in T&T? That'd be nice.

BIG FLEX is more exciting to me, I think. Opens up more options.

That Flex Titan looks interesting one. It looks larger version of Flex.

Lots of Prototypes I got to play with at the Kizer booth. You'll need to click on thumbnails because a lot of these are 50MP pictures so I can capture things and not be blurry when you zoom in.
