Day 16

Last day with the LST Mini before I switch to another lightweight knife.  Carrying such a small knife is bearable since I have some larger backups in my desk drawer.

As a bonus pic, here’s my work beater.  It’s an inexpensive Colonial, and I can’t remember where I got it. You can see the residue of classification stickers on the blade.

Day 16, (EDC)

Appointments today, eyes are indicated healed, and I ordered new glasses to match the new lenses that were replaced.

My carry was / is my bright RED Tribal lock. I just really enjoy using the spear point blade.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

And yesterday in the mail arrived a package, I did not open till this afternoon!

A new Saunter in Micarta (green), appears more brownish, which I like.  This version has blade made of 154CM, oh so smooth cutting.   This was marked down at Buck significantly enough to entice me to add another Saunter to my family. The size is so pocket friendly.
I have  will now add another few minutes each day pondering  what to add to my pocket any given day.

PS: fighting the urge to go back and grap a BLACK SPEAR OR CLIP POINT to my cart.  Damn there are three models..,
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Sweet Buck, and glad the eye is doing well. Buck is one of the companies doing it right on the "modern traditional" front.

Day 16

New knife day for me today.

Picked up a Kershaw 4320 Federalist. It has no backspring like traditional slip joints, but uses detents in what feels like the closed, half stop position, and full open. I am carrying it alongside the peanut today which got the honors of opening it from the package.

Gordon, glad to see that you are recovering well. Congrats on the new knife. I am liking the looks of that one.

Case Tony Bose Premium Stockman

154CM, bone slabs, nickel silver liners & bolsters

If, in some nightmare scenario, I could only keep one trad, this would be a strong contender.

I love the Saunter!  They’re discontinued, so you should grab another before they’re gone for good.

 :iagree:
When younger,  65 years ago, I could rattle of the teams in the Big 10 along with nicknames.   Today at 71, I do not care, that much!   Well I do try to catch Purdue… out of loyalty because my son spent five years with the football team closing out the 20th century under Tiller’s guidance.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

Day 17

New lightweight knife day.  I’m done with the Gerbers and moving to some Bucks. The first selection is a Buck 425 “Minibuck”.  This guy weighs in at 0.7 ounces.  It reminds me of the Buck 505 I carried for years, but much lighter.

Day 17 +*

We can not have a Dean51 Memorial Challenge without sharing our inspiration to acquire items🥺

I will admit last Thursday, one week ago, I was a tad bored dog sitting, and got looking at emails, and reviewing post shared, and then there was a SMKW exclusive drop at 10AM.   I went skidding out of control.

Tuesday, my exclusive arrived! (Will share later😉),  then an email from Copper & Clad boasting about a BUCK discontinued assortment.  So I made note.
Then went to Buck.com, and still listed but $5 lower than C&C.
So I snagged a Saunter 154CM, Green Micarta, Spear Point.  And, a 364 RIVAL 1 in blaze camo to get free S/h.

Then, another email caught my eye Saturday, I think!, from Opinel, a deal on a No6 OpiFlex with sheath, Olive Wood was my choice.  And, since I have been wanting a EFFIL’E, I grappled one with padouk wood.   Arrived last night!

My July acquisitions.

Maybe the fever will stay normal through the 30th…
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!
