Oh come on! Can not be that much $$$

If so, I may need to store in my vault.

They are only GEC carbon blades, covers BRAZILIAN CHERRY
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Check eBay. It’s crazy.  I don’t think I have ever seen a GEC knife sold anywhere other than the secondary market for inflated prices.  I bought a few anyway because I liked them, but they’re not any better than my Case knives that cost much less.

I better not show this one to my daughter or she's going to "need" it.

Day 19

My brother-in-law cooked some tasty bbq chicken while my sister-in-law made the baked beans. Opinel came in handy during this outstanding dinner.

I order two last winter, only one arrived, out of stock on a new release.

Only one daughter received a gift for her birthday.

I believe they now refer to it as  BUBBLE GUM!

DAY 19.  A small gift from a business acquaintance: a Commando (Opinel 8ish knock off).  It's making me think about the smaller Opinels.

I have a couple smaller ones. The No 8 is a nice knife, but the 6 and 7 are what see the most carry for me.

Day 20

This one is for LC  :pok:   I have two of the drop point in green because it is my favorite of the bunch.

Benchmade used to make a similar knife, the 318 and 319 Proper.  Here's the Saunter next to the 318.  The blade steel on the Proper is "better" - S30V, although I prefer the 154CM on the Saunter because S30V is hard to sharpen.

Day 20 *

Very nice collection!d, w

The clip point does not push my buttons😉

And, like you the Green Micarta does make a subtle statement in the spear point 154CM.   A Black Micarta is crawling to me ☺️   I left the CP blacks for another.

The original Saunter, a LIMITED EDITION was done with Carbon covers and S35VN  steel.    And when Midway USA placed on sale for half off that summer I snatched two more.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

And, when offered a GEC 23 BeaverTail, we agreed to a trade, a first release Saunter for the GEC 23! (Middle one)

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

My other original SAUNTER is relaxing, still in the packaging up stairs with other acquired sharps.

Thank you for sharing Rich.

PS:  my GECs pictured do not have the value as those on the auction site. I do not have the packaging, plus mine are used!😎
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

You have last year's July Buck of the Month Saunter.      I'm still kicking myself for not buying it before it sold out.

I was attracted to the SAUNTER, because it resembles the CANOE pattern.  A modern day version of the classic which I have accumulated a few. (Mostly Bucks)

An unusual A.G. Russell/Buck collaboration…

Nickel silver bolsters and stag slabs.  One blade is 154CM and the other S30V.

Very nice  Nate!

Do they call it a CANOE?

Is each blade stamped with blade material, who treated it?

Very nice  Nate!

Do they call it a CANOE?

Is each blade stamped with blade material, who treated it?

It’s definitely a Canoe-shaped handle, though the two equal length blades at opposite ends of the knife is perhaps more reminiscent of a Moose pattern.

Both blades were Bos heat-treated, and are so marked.

Spear point blade is additionally marked “154 CM”, “BUCK”, “CUSTOM”, “U.S.A.”, and features A.G. Russell’s signature.

Wharncliffe blade is additionally marked “S30V” and features Chuck Buck’s signature.

A Moose would be a trapper style with a clip and Spey on opposite pivots.

The Wharncliff is shorter than the spear.

Very very nice, the blades are BOS heat treated.

When was it made, or when did you acquire.

I never heard of this collaboration.   Still cool!

I believe it was made around 2009.  I fished out of the ‘bay a number of years later.

Day 20

I had the Peanut with me all day today and this afternoon brought out the Kershaw to give it some pocket and carry time as well. My apologies for the quick pic today. It has been incredibly busy in the Jones household. We did a dump run this morning. Then yard work involving weeding and pruning Rhododendrons. We have managed to fill up our large yard waste bin and eight large yard waste bags. Now I am racing to get dinner on the table. Hope you awl had a great weekend.
