@AzteCypher- I was thinking of the long stem pipe I have posted earlier.  The pipe with the metal section is a Falcon.  I found it on ebay.
Thanks for the info.  Never heard of them before but they look interesting.  I like that it mentions "dry smoke" as I struggle with that sometimes.

Day 18

Needed to open a bag of dog food for the 60lb puppy.

I recall that style of PIPE was popular when gentleman in their 40s and older to use in the summer months .
This would have been in the 1960s and 70s.

I love the fragrance of pipe tobacco, and encounter guys smoking this style of pipe fishing on the s do  these can appear in estate sales.   Just like some knife do
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I awlways worry about getting a good fit on aftermarket sheaths. I'm worried I'll reach for the knife one day and find it poking through into my leg or something.

Cool action shot Sherry.
I know what you mean about sheaths.  I came across a guy that makes leather molded sheaths, but if he doesn’t have your knife, then you have to send it to him.

Thanks on the compliment
Day 16

Razel sliced some kiwi for a snack.

I love kiwi

I agree. The nylon sheaths supplied with many Bucks and the cheaper brands are basically blade covers so you can safely throw your knife in a pack.  They are really awful though if you want to actually belt carry.  You should get better from a premium brand such as Buck.  I like leather, Loveless style sheaths for most of my knives and have replaced most of the nylon sheaths that came with them.  Something like this one on Amazon is a tremendous improvement, but make sure you get the right size for your knife.

Appreciate the suggestion.

I’m more a kydex guy though, because I don’t want a sheath that the knife could cut or stab through, and I want a sheath that is impervious to moisture.

I like that one! It would be interesting to compare it side-by-side with a Garberg.

Day 19

Yesterday I said that I have no issues with the Garberg's sheath. I guess that is correct, but I do have a knock on the belt loop attachment. It flops around more than I'd like. But it does allow every part of the knife and sheath to ride below the top of my belt, as I prefer.

I'm also not overly fond of the rather small lanyard hole. Yes, 550 cord can pass through it, but 325 is a better fit, in my opinion.

Part of the same family, they've got 5 or 6 models. I prefer mine since I think having 3 different "blades" is very practical.

Day 19

Mora Basic 511. Sometimes you can't beat the classics. Knife Center likes to give these as a promo.

Mora Basic--I think this was the 125th Anniversary version. If I'm not mistaken, this was at the same time, one of the annual "colors" knives. 2018 or 2019.

Day 19

Had to use the jimping on fixie to get a better grip on the tiny piece of extra foil on the creamer this morning.  Either I'm getting weaker or they're gluing these lids down with epoxy.

Day 20

The Garberg took its turn with the card stock today.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The first cut was a clean, fast, and complete slice. A second cut had to be made for an action shot. Overall, I'm pretty happy with the Garberg.

Day 20

We've reached the 2/3rds mark in this October challenge and we still haven't seen anyone carving a pumpkin, gourd, turnip, or other vegetables.  If you haven't already got it, the Jack-o-lantern badge is one of the few you can claim during another challenge and it's only available before Halloween.

Today I'm carrying the ESEE JG3 with a SOG Powerpint, but that doesn't seem quite right.  The JG3 is all business and feels like it should be paired with a more serious multitool such as the Surge.   :pok:

Day 19

Esse PR4 and some more Glock magazines. When I bought my 43x MOS the guy behind the counter handed me a weighty Glock box after paperwork and purchase. I opened it before leaving to make sure numbers matched paperwork. Inside the box was a Glock 34. I bought the 43x at 419. Guy handed me a 650-700 dollar at the time double stack big Glock. Slight error.  :ahhh

Sir, I think there is a problem.

Day 20

I often see Mora's recommended as first knives. Cheap, durable, and a fixed blade is easier to handle in some ways than a folder. This Scout is the "official" kid friendly Mora, available with both pointy and safety tip. I know 10 year old BPRoberts would've thought that cross guard was really cool, because 36 year old BPRoberts still likes it.
