It's not always about TSA.
Some work environments ban blade carrying, but still a sensible guy wants to have a few tools with him. A friend of mine works at a factory that would just fire anyone found with a blade on himself, and so reverted to the Jetsetter@Work.
Fortunately, that’s foreign to my experience.
The places I go seem to fall into one of three categories:
1. No Restrictions - Carry whatever you want.
2. Discretion Required - May have blade length limits or similar arbitrary restrictions. May have a no “weapons” policy, but this is often vague/not defined and moreover not enforced by security checkpoints with metal detectors. YMMV, and l certainly don’t want to encourage anyone to put themselves in legal (or financial) jeopardy, but my experience has been that a 93mm or smaller SAK (or similarly sized trad) carried concealed in a pocket isn’t a problem (assuming one isn’t acting like a smurfhat of course).
3. Knives Banned - No “weapons” policy specifically or de facto includes knives/pocket knives, and this is enforced via security checkpoints with metal detectors. Not limited to airports.
So for me, a bladeless model offers no benefit in categories 1 & 2, and only has value if it is consistently allowed through the checkpoints in category 3.
