Day 10

Yesterday I was in my yard and needed to do something that the PST could not do.  45 years ago, the pliers based multitool was born because Tim Leatherman needed to do some roadside expedient repairs on a rental car and couldn't do what he needed to do with a SAK.  His Pocket Survival Tool would logically appeal more towards industrial users with its big pliers, a file, and multiple screwdriver tips, rather than to woodsmen who might favor implements still common in mid-sized SAKs.  Later Leatherman tools carried more outdoors friendly implements including saws, but not the PST, and yesterday I needed a saw. What makes sense to me is that Leatherman's lightweight PST was never intended to compete with SAKs and SAK-alikes for pocket space, but to be complimentary to them.   To honor that thought I'm carrying my PST and a SAK-alike with a saw, the Hoffritz Partner.

Day 10

My trusty PST II and my son joined me on a walk along the Columbia River today in Richland Washington. It was a beautiful day for a walk.

Day 11

I wish LM had scissors on the original PST, although my scissors stopped working for some reason this morning. I tried oiling it, but that made things worse. The spring is getting stuck.

Day 11

Darn, my silverware drawer pull was loose again, without thought I quickly deployed the Phillips and tighten the back screw.

  four hours later I , I should have taken a picture!

Otherwise no additional use!
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Interesting, nice mod!

I just examined my PST II, what I thought was the AWL, is not, but the very small screwdriver like my OG PST has and I used last week to adjust the sensor on a motion light by the garage service door.

Learn something again about the amazing PST series.

That looks like a beautiful day JonesE.

Thanks Barry, I had a great time with Sean. We did a portion of the Sacajawea Heritage Trail. The trail is a paved 23 miles along the Columbia. It was fun seeing the wild life and families out walking and enjoying there time. Sean spotted some Herons and made friends with a local cat.

Now that I think about it, the little brush/dust mop thing I showed in support of the I see red challenge yesterday would probably work great for removing pocket lint. Thanks for getting me to think a little! :salute:

Great work, y'awl!
