That looks like it may be cream cheese with lox. Am I even close?

It has warmed to 13° F this morning, 13 higher than yesterday at same time🥶

Plus 4” of white precipitation with more expected.

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Day 25

Tourist and Kaari plasma lighter:

In the interests of science, I decided to see if I could light the toothpick.

No.

Not being one to waste a toothpick, I whittled it with the small blade:

Still works OK.

Those plasma lighters are pretty cool. I used one to light my Dietz lantern. It didn't even occur to me to add it to the lineup!

Day 25, mini challenge

Light and dark

1/2 second exposure in semi lit room

60 second exposure in a dark room and lume refreshed by a flashlight
A nice bonus of the selected exposure time is that we get to see every tick of the secondhand

My intention was to clean up the pictures a bit, but at some point I must have knocked my camera out of RAW mode, so that didn't happen. Thankfully the jpg's weren't too bad out of camera.

Day 24 Makeup and 25

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The Skeletool lopped off the top of this bottle to use as a salt scoop to help with the ice.

Kind of hectic today w/ the weather, so here's a pic I took but missed posting the other day.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

Some kind of bandana (in this case a black Zippo/Case) rides in my back pocket most days. It gets used for a lot of stuff, but mostly as a hot mitt when I reheat my lunch at work.

I'll try to get a flashlight pic tomorrow.

Day 26

It may come as a shock to see Darth walking with a stick, but like most of us he is advancing in years.

The stick is from the back section of my EDC pouch, seen to rear, and consists of a Firefly mini ferro rod and a needle, wrapped in self-amalgamating tape.

These are two items that will rarely see use, if at all. But for the negligible weight and size it just gives me a kick to carry them and be prepared like a boyscout. I also have a few feet of Gutermann’s extra-strong thread wound onto a cardboard bobbin, so I can deploy the needle if necessary. The ferro rod can be fired quite effectively with the diagonal edge of my utility blade.

This is my second one!  Carrie’s like a zippo in the pocket, and good output for the size.

Black and white mini challenge

Awesome! I am ordering some odds and ends off Amazon, and noticed those are finally in stock at a NOT inflated price--thus I'll order a couple pairs as backups to my Knipex.

Day 25 Mini Challenge!

Really need to get some kerosene on order for my "decorative" lamp as a backup to the battery-powered stuff.

Been wanting a real DIetz, but every time I see them at antique stores, they want a small fortune.

Day 20:

PC Rearranging. Moved it to the other side of the basement (which doesn't have a floor drain or plumbing anywhere close), and needed something to close the gaps on the wire rack shelving (which I had to modify by removing one shelf to fit my gigantic PC tower).

To do that, I used some spare foam flooring tiles and cut them to size with the Saver Salt.

Day 21:

In preparation for this massive storm (in part, it's why I've fallen a little behind), I went out and got 10 gallons each of gas and diesel.  Had to pry off the funnel of the gas can in order to get fuel in it, so I used the combo tool on the Endeavor.
