Day 27

Requisite snow pic.

The black and orange make the Skeletool pretty easy to pick out.

Setting up a new phone is a pain in the arse.

The best use of an SAK: opening a package containing a new SAK. :woohoo:
Nice.  Is that a new Explorer?

Day 26

Flashlight a day late. Olight Arkflex. It does flex!
Interesting light

Day 26
The Golfer opened some dessert coffee

Day 27
Couldn’t get a strong enough grip with just my hands, so used the Spirit to hod on the ring that has to be kept in place to open the bottle.  Larger pliers would have worked better but the Spirit did the job.

Day 28

A HUNTSMAN and a SPARTAN arrived via USPS yesterday and was inspected this morning.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

PS: For those interested, temp at 7:30 A is -3°F, feels like -19° F and the high today to climb to 9°F at some point.  And forecast is for it to even be colder this weekend.
What the heck, I missed my January thaw!

Why are you afraid to carry it?
I'm always afraid to carry discontinued tools, lest I break or lose them. A PocketWrench II could be difficult to replace. And I sure do like the 111 you showed today!

Is that a new Explorer?
Sure is!

Thanks! That's my OH Forester. I like it a lot too, and carry it often. Getting ready to say goodbye to it for 90 days!

Day 27

Latshaw PocketWrench II. It could be handy, but I'm terrified to carry it much.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

Mine currently lives in my Surge's MOLLE XL sheath.  Due to the fact that Pocket Wrenches, especially the CV versions are extremely difficult to find (I think all those "EDC Gear" knockoffs put the company out of business--much like copycats killed Doan's firestarters), I mostly replaced mine with small adjustable wrenches, and later the 125mm Pocket Wrench. It lives in the Surge sheath as there's nothing in its size class that can fit in that narrow slot and keep me from chewing up bolts with the pliers.

Day 22:
had
Added the Cattleman's Cutlery Stockman to the Browning 703 and Klein 44000.

I've been curious about the brand for years--originally because they had a pretty decent copy of the Case Mid Folding Hunter. A local farm and feed had the carbon/red bone ones in stock some time ago, but had sold out of them. Instead, I picked out this black/blue G-10 one in 8Cr. Personally, it's even better than a Rough Ryder for just a couple bucks more ($18 out the door).

Day 29 - longshot

I just carry the same stuff every day, so that gets a bit boring.
The one blacked out item that's been occupying my focus of late is this one

It's not in my pocket, and certainly not used, but crossing my fingers those things will be a possibility at some point.
According to package tracking it was delivered to the forwarding service, which I've never used before, two days ago.
The package still doesn't come up as received with them, so yeah. Not terribly stressed out just yet, but I do check my e-mails a bit more regularly at this point.

Day 29

I showed my second-smallest tape measure the other day, here is the littlest of all:

Also Japanese - masters of the miniature. It’s a metric only 150cm cloth tape (actually fibreglass, it says). Of limited usefulness, but small enough to slip into any bag or pouch, and it hardly weighs anything.

Lucky you!   I went back to order and the stone wash was sold out.  Or, that is the excuse I told myself! 🫣

Venting my anxiety helped. Just got notification the knife is received by my forwarder. So yay!
Now it only has to pass one more little hurdle, but crossing a body of water that hardly makes up a few cm on my map and getting through the scrutiny of some activism prone customs inspectors should be easier as pie.

Day 29 re-take

These two have been staples through the whole challenge. Both used every day, with maybe one or two exceptions.

Been quite chill for a while now, 0F this evening and tomorrow, but if the forecast is to be trusted there's a heat wave on the way and we can expect a jump up to approx, 15F from Saturday and for a week or so after that.

Somehow made it all the way through the challenge without posting my favorite SAK. The Executive is the only one I know whose "default" color is black.
