Good day everyone. I haven't been visiting this forum or participating on the Facebook page of MT.O lately due to some medical issues I have been combating since the beginning of September. Let's just say I spent a week in the hospital and the recovery since then is positive if anything but quick. I got a nice case of cellulites due to diabetic complications in both legs. I get wound care everyday and the nurses are amazed I am able to walk around during this time. I haven't been to work since September 10th which plain sucks...but I am getting better. Just be thankful I am not posting photos of my legs for your entertainment.

Anyways, I do go out daily to the downtown wound clinic to change my dressings. Lately, I am able to get around with more strength and as a treat to myself, I decided to visit one of the local pawn shops...and what a visit it was. I think the Universe felt a tad sorry for my trials and tribulations, that the planets aligned for my visit.  It was a fantastic haul.

1. Leatherman juice XE6 in purple livery,

This guy was buried at the bottom of a wicker basket full of junk knives. As a bonus, it was priced to sell at 9.99 Canadian.

What a haul!

I would say the XE6 for $10 takes the cake!

That is a fantastic haul! Sounds as if you're well on the way to a full recovery. Hopefully it'll speed itself up a little, too.

The downtown pawn shop, but I think Def might be the only one on here who might know where that is located.  :D

The Basket O' Knives.  Every pawn shop has one and I dearly love going through it, because anything could be in there.  Great finds, Chako.  Best wishes for a speedy recovery.

Wishing you all the best for a full recovery.

That is an epic score you pulled off there. The Juice Champ looks pristine!  There again I have had mine since they were current, and mine looks pristine as well, for a reason. I feel it kinda falls between two stools, the small size encourages you to pocket carry it, but then the brick-like weight is a bit of a drag and the thickness makes a lump in the pocket.  I carried mine for a short while, but in the end kept thinking if I'm carrying this bulk, why not just take my Spirit instead?  It weights 20g more, can do far more, and because it's thin is better suited to the pocket.

Even so, it's a lovely thing to have and I hope you enjoy it (or make a good turn if you are gonna sell it).

Well I am glad that you have cleaned them out because I will be there next week, and I probably (definitely) would have grabbed everything you did as well.

Well, except maybe that carabiner flashlight doodad.  I have one of those (and by "one" I mean "several") and I really find them to be of very poor construction.  The switch is very poorly made and fails, or at least mine have.  It's a neat collectible, but if you plan to use it (as I did) it leaves a lot to be desired.

I'm glad to hear you are feeling better.  I had assumed that you drifted away, as you sometimes do when other things catch your attention, and I figured you'd be back eventually.  I didn't realize you were having issues, and it is a stark reminder of the difficulties involved in forums- when people aren't around, you never know if they are just otherwise occupied or not doing well.

I've watched it happen many times with a great many members over the years- I have come to accept it, but that doesn't mean I have to like it.

I'm glad you are okay man- keep it up!   :tu:

Thanks.

They do have an Arcade 1up bar top that contains 3 Mortal Combat games for 100. I did consider it but have no room for it.

It will have to stay there as I am flying this time and that may be a bit too big to fit in the overhead compartment on a Dash 8!   :ahhh

Last spring when I drove up though... that would have been tempting!   :D
