TRUSTFIRE MINIX3 PRO
on: December 29, 2025, 04:00:14 PM
I've been looking for a new edc flashlight, and this one caught my eye. Any of you guys have any experience with this one?

The only downside I see is the battery is not a standard one and thus can't be changed once it bites the dust.

I don't have that one, but have the similar Olight ArkPro - which is awesome.  Yes, its a bummer not being able to change the battery.  But by the time it dies, there will be "better" lights on the market making the ArkPro almost disposable.  It does cost $20 - $30 more than the Trustfire.  The laser comes in very handy with a kitten in the house.  But at least in Powernoodleworld, Olight is a more established brand and I would rather stick with the big boys.  JMO.

You are almost certainly right about olight being a better light. But it does not have the side light as this one does and I really like that.

Do you by any chance know of any such lights that have all the features but come from better manufacturers than trustfire?

I'd be leery of the Trustfire, but for reasons other than lack of name recognition. My first thought was, "my Fenix headlamp is sorta-kinda a side light," so I checked out their offerings. While the SW05 isn't a side light per se, the angle can be adjusted to suit your needs. I linked to one that has red light capability, but if UV capability is more useful to you, they have that for an additional $3. I've had good luck with Fenix, they're a little bit more established than Trustfire, and the SW05 series is considerably more cost-effective. Sounds like a win to me.

:iagree:

I’ve carried Fenix lights for years, and they’ve always served me well.  If you find something suitable in their lineup, I wouldn’t hesitate to pull the trigger on it.

I took all of your advice in to consideration and decided that now I don't know what I want. Great success I suppose?  :D

As most of us don’t have unlimited funds, spending a little extra time deliberating isn’t necessarily a bad thing, if it helps you avoid a purchase you would later regret.
