Day 18
I was asleep most of yesterday due to muscle relaxers. I somehow pulled a muscle in my upper back/shoulder/neck area. Don't recall doing anything to cause it; just one of the "perks" of getting older I suppose.

Cadet helped open the package for my new Victorinox.

Day 20

Had to remove the insoles to replace with orthotics. Annoyingly they were stuck down, can opener managed to scrape off most of it (right after, left before)

Alright LC... fess up.  Where did you get that one.  I just saw the Classic SD version of it and I thought to myself, "It'd be cool if they made those scales for the 91mm."  And here you are.... please point me in the right direction!   :D

Very busy day today but not for the Cadet I'm afraid.  Here's a glamour shot instead.

I see your Lego storage approach is equally well-organised as what we have in our house!

RED HILL CUTLERY have listed on eBay.
But, I went straight to their web site. Ordered Tuesday arrived Thursday.  No sales tax, plus free S/H.

Took long enough…

The CADET (silver) had honors!  😊

Freed two passengers from their packages.

A lovely green RECRUIT (advertising piece)

And a CHAMPION (6 layer).  With Plus scales!

Beautiful set! I'm still trying to find the 2015 and 2018 Cadets for my collection.

Day 20

Hung out and listened to music this evening. Not much use for the Cadet.

Impressive!

Perhaps this is just me, but I still cannot comprehend why Victorinox dropped the very popular Cadet from their annual exclusives.  :ahhh

To replace it with the locking Evoke. I cannot imagine that thing being popular? I cannot recall ever seeing one in the wild, or even in photos being carried and used.

Am I missing something?

I strive to achieve expert puttering level.  Some day....

Day 20

Cadet got some use this morning opening up a can of beans.

Then I used the file as an awl to undo a knot on the blinds.

Day 21, first full day of spring!

The  CADET was handy, so put to work cutting a stack of small boxes that at one time held other sharps that arrived at the homestead.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

It did just fine cutting, then suddenly, it did not!

As I have noticed before, Swiss steel will take and edge very well, it will cut with no problem, then without a simple warning it will not…

Makes this simple VICTORINOX Sharpening stick very practical to have close by or in your kit.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Day 21

I used the Cadet's blade to cut the plastic ring off of the cottage cheese container for my study-break lunch. I'm preparing to take the state test to teach algebra.

Thanks Brock  :tu: :iagree:

They could’ve kept the cadet going as well as the evoke if that’s the line they want to advertise

The cadet is literally everything they’re famous for, a neat but ingenious small pocket knife that apart from scissors (  :dunno: cadet x cadet x cadet x  :gimme: )  will get most people through the day with just enough tools
