Day 26

The can opener is perfectly suited for battery changes. I could have used the nail file too... I am so used to carry a Pioneer without a nail file, that I normally go for the can opener without a second thought.

Vic can opener is always my tool of choice for this!

Day 26

Another (and I think final) dual carry idea:

The co-star here is the Nextool Micro Sailor Scissors, which I could describe as a Micra Lite. Just got these and I really like them. Build quality and finishing seems comparable to LM, which is a pleasant surprise, and the scissors seem to be as good as the Micra. Much more limited set of tools - a very stout pair of tweezers on one side, 2D Phillips with file, bottle opener / flathead and eyeglass screwdriver on the other (all on the outside). But it is a lot thinner and lighter and much, much cheaper than the Micra (as in, I could buy three of these for the cost of a Micra and have change left over to buy a beer).

Day 27

The Cadet opened a package that contained....

... another knife, a pre-owned Spyderco Native 5.

After I took this photo, I disassembled, cleaned and oiled it. It goes into the "to be sharpened" queue for tomorrow.

Apparently it caught the attention of the Australian Border Force (ABF)...  :dunno:

Instead of doing another cigar cutting Pic, today, I thought I'd need to adjust the flame on a butane lighter.    It's an easy fix to the preset that comes with them.
Remove the shield.
Lift the adjusting lever and hold the knob with the end of the nail file.   Then move the lever to the left and press it back onto the knob.  Test it and then replace the shield.
Light up and enjoy.
