Day 29

The Cadet liberated a stubborn custard dessert from its container. All that was necessary was to pierce the base to release the vacuum. I missed the awl on the Pioneer. It has a much finer tip for piercing.

It was time to fit the livestock with their new jewelry.

Day 29

Travel to visit daughter on her birthday.

Enjoyed lunch and planning for EASTER Sunday in which the whole tribe will gather there.
Only CADET use was touching up a broken nail.

Now home, more work to clean that edge while watching the last ELITE EIGHT GAME.

The Silver has the diamond dust file, my other two are the more aggressive newer style 😉

Been a bit under the weather for a couple days, so it's catch-up time.

Day 27

An old picture from the day I got my first Cadet. Miss Amelia is no longer with us, but she was an admirer of Swiss Army Knives.

Day 28

My second Cadet, after I took it apart and added scissors. In retrospect, I had no business doing this project at the time. Little experience and limited tools could have ended in disaster, but I'm glad it came out well. I definitely learned a lot building this one.

Day 29

The Cadet was on duty cleaning some portobello mushroom caps for the grill. The blade is great for cutting away the "skirt" but I discovered the can opener is excellent for cleaning out the gills and stems.

Nice!

I'm pretty sure blade maintenance must be the most neglected aspect of lawn mower ownership.

Every time I sharpen those blades the mower just powers throught the thickest lawn without blinking an eye. So satisfying.

 :iagree:

I usually get them sharpened every 2 years as part of the service but as I'd broken a blade on a rock time for some new ones.....wow, like a new mower, not bad considering it's 20 years old

Day 30

I was always going to enjoy this challenge, the first SAK I started actually collecting as opposed to buying different models, was the Cadet, so have appreciated the opportunity to show them off a bit

Many thanks to you awl and our host RP, another very well run challenge :hatsoff:

I do have one more I’d have liked to have shown you, the cellidor LE from a few years ago, in a box somewhere

Here’s the main collection, LE’s 2015 - 2020, the “cognac”, my fave worn green, LE alox, a couple of ribbed alox early models, one smooth alox and the original red and black variants :tu:

No recorded use today unfortunately so just a beauty shot while I'm planning out the garden.

Badge added to list and awarded to Storm and Echotech.

I have decided not to get this badge. I wanted this challenge to be a more of a Cadet training experience, with jokes, mini challenges, etc, but I've barely posted in this myself. I've been swamped with work so I have had little down time. You have done an excellent job posting in this, thank you to all who made this fun.

Day 30 (punctually for once)

Last Christmas we bought a live tree, and after the festive period I planted it in the garden. I wasn’t sure if it would survive, as its roots had been badly mutilated to fit it in the fairly small pot it came in. But it seems to be thriving.

Day 30. 😅

The finish line.   A quick 30 days I will admit.

A TRAINING CHALLENGE mentioned in a post earlier today by ReamerPunch!  🤔

That describes me🤪.  Definitely a newbie to the CADET.

I JOINED YOU DAY 1.   In fact I opened the package (a clam shell)  freeing the SILVER CADET for this challenge. My other a Royal Blue remained safely in the box, in a storage box just as it arrived from DLT late last year.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The SILVER has been my daily carry, very capable, including the nail file and the can opener that served as a package opener a couple times.

The BLUE was admired, photographed, but never saw any cutting action if I recall.

I did go on the hunt for the elusive RED. So far no luck.  Even returned to DLT for their exclusive GREEN, but out of stock.  Yet did arrange for a BLACK!  And, a couple other unique SAKs to make the trip south.

The BLACK was carried and used, if only a few days. Its file is the newer version.  More efficient😉

I truly enjoyed my experience the past 30 days, and the SILVER CADET, will join rotation duty.   The only down side is no corkscrew, so it will have a tough time getting reps against the SPORTSMAN. OTHERWISE, they are both great carry options.

Thank you RP for hosting.  And, a  :hatsoff: to my fellow CADETs for tolerating me and my humble photo skills these past 30 days.   A great group!

Echotech’s collection is impressive as well as colorful, many thanks for sharing.

  As I will enjoy reading the finals as this topic winds down.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!
