Day 3

The CADET found actual cutting action late yesterday,

An inner heavier protective pocket

And, freedom!  :woohoo:

Well, that's an excellent package to receive. Congrats!

I got a notification that I had a package, with some smart tags, delivered this morning.  Went out to retrieve them from the parcel box only to find that mine wasn't there, but 3 to my wife were.
Maybe she picked up mine when she went out to go to her physical therapy.

Day 4

Morning dental appointment, arrived home and fixed a coffee and a treat, waffled cinnamon rolls.

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

CADET’s cap lifter flat blade, was used in place of a spoon to pop open the biscuit can. Worked perfectly!😎

One roll is one serving, nah, two rolls is one serving!😉

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Oh now that looks good.

After yesterday's disappointment with the delivery people, I was at least able to get a refund.  I've never had an issue with things that are shipped, by the Temu, only the local vendors.  Not wanting to have the same issue, again, I ordered a set from the AliExpress site.

Now, all I have to do is wait some more.   Gives me time to smoke my daily half a cigar.

Your CADET cut that stogie very cleanly!

I never acquired a taste for cigars, but will admit, the smoothest cigar I had tried was forced upon me at a handmade CIGAR Shop in PUERTO PLATA, Dominican Republic (2016), when shopping for cigars for a friend.

A box of PRESIDENTE, only cost $75, US.

The recipient said, they were the best he ever had smoked and that he sold a couple to his club members for $150 each. He had done some pro bono legal work for my daughter.

Must also mention that the CIGAR SHOPPE, shared the same space as a JEWERY Store 🤪

I wonder if I can still find cigar values like that when we stop at Amber Cove, in May.

Probably not, but I'll be on the lookout.

I am not familiar with AMBER COVE.

My brother visits DOMINICAN REPUBLIC a couple times a year and brings back his allowed personal allowance.

Sometimes near PUNTA CANA, other times north near Puerto Plata.
He and his wife donate heavily to a couple schools there, and makes a two week stay reasonable.

He does enjoy his CIGARs and indicate these are some of the best he has enjoyed.  Cuban seeds they say.

The Cadet's can opener makes a good orange peeler. It works best if you push the sharp edge through the peel instead of pulling. Not as good as my Executive but it will do the job during this challenge.

A satisfying simple solution for relaxation!

I now wonder, how many folk, besides school children really use pencils?

My grandkids in sixth grade use tablets for their school work, typing in answers, or selecting multiple choice answers.
Math, they show work using a stylus, writing on the screen.

Be curious how many firms even make pencils today?

Number 2 pencils may fade away.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

It’ll be a sad day if the humble pencil becomes a museum piece. I like to use them as well as sharpen them, and my wife sketches with them all the time. My kids are still at the age of using them for schoolwork as well as homework, all the better to rub out frequent mistakes! They both enjoy drawing, though my daughter at age 9 shows signs of starting to live in a digital world - if she’s going to build something it will be in Minecraft. My son at 6 is a solidly analogue kid - he likes things he can touch and squeeze and probably destroy, and if he builds something it will be Lego, or just assembled out of whatever objects he can get his hands on. We’ll see what happens when he gets a bit older.

I do hope the coming generation does not forget there is a real world out there.

Day 5

Finished my book this morning, did some meal prep tasks and another cup of coffee.

Challenges and my wallet are not always on best of terms, yesterday I thought I was stupid!
Bought something I already had!  Being bored I doubled checked myself.

Was on a site, found they had CADETs, RED, SILVER and BLACK.   Then recalled they had exclusives too, searched and found two more, GREEN & Royal Blue.

Tried to order the GREEN as I have the ROYAL BLUE,  bought last year to match my PIONEER & ELECTRICIAN, also a FARMER.

I thought oh yes! GREEN will be cool for Saint Patrick’s Day!

Not to be, OUT OF STOCK!  Even though the message above reads ready to ship!

So now, I have the buy bug!  Real bad, but not the shakes yet.  Go back and search again. Red, silver and BLACK.

SELECT RED, ready to ship is displayed, add to cart, OUT OF STOCK.  Now I feel the twitch, eyes, right leg, need to take action.   Select BLACK, in the cart.
Phew!  :ahhh:facepalm:

Today, OK, there is a blue upstairs…

And, a POCKET PAL & a RECRUIT, both have pen blades, not files,  neither have back side tools!!! :dunno:

Why not RECRUITS :dunno:

[ You are not allowed to view this attachment ]

The ‘tween challenge did a number on me, before I hade a Recruit, Pocket Pal and small Tinker.   Then a few others, now even more plus some Wengers.

Then the MacGyver challenge, and even more…

So a BLACK is in route! 🤫. On wait list for RED🫣

If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

I'm hoping to get some goodies in the mail, later today, but I've learned not to count my chickens,..

Simple glamour shot today. The gold color of the 2019 LE is really classy. It would be perfect to carry at a wedding or other formal event.
