Packing day.  I have a full day's worth of food including snacks and drinks which works out to way more salt and carbs than I would generally eat in a day but it is, somewhat of a special occasion. I have insant oatmeal for breakfast, instant coffee for all day, 4 different kinds of noodle soups, some oysters and sardines that will probably be added to the soups, a can of ravioli, some corn chips, some beef jerky, some pepperoni, some cookies, some fake pop-tarts, a fruit cup with mandarin orange pieces and a Jello cup, some peach flavored gummy candies, a tamarind flavored soda, and a mango flavored aloe drink to settle the stomach when I've had everything else.  I will eat everything next Sunday instead of next Saturday because I'll be away most of the day on Saturday.

I should have put in some chips and crackers.  I finally got some of the Mini-Ravioli with meatballs that you enlightened everyone about last year.  They were almost out of them at the store.  Good to see someone else with fake Pop Tarts.
Our friend Aztec will probably log in later.  Might have to wait until dark to...ahhh... procure a live chicken.  Looks like we will have a couple of no-shows.  I actually thought that our friend nate j had signed up, but it looks like he didn't.  He contributed quite a bit to the discussion with some interesting posts.
Best wishes.  Gary

Got so tied up in today's event, that I almost forgot to post!

The day ended well though as my son's soccer team just finished up their season undefeated.

Breakfast on the left hand side with a can of Spam, two hamburger buns, and some ground coffee.  I'll save some of the Spam for lunch.  To the right is lunch which will consist of ramen with some Spam in it and some instant Vietnamese coffee.  The hobo knife is in the middle.  Finally we have dinner.  We have a tuna pack with some crackers, a can of sardines, and a can of ravioli.  I couldn't decide between the sardines and the ravioli so I packed both.   :dunno:

As I was packing the bag I was starting to wonder if I over packed as it barely fit in the bag.  I told my wife about the challenge so she wouldn't put the food away.  "There's a reason it's sitting in a bag..."

You held us all in suspense.  I was wondering if you were recovering from dog bite injuries or something.  Nocturnal chicken procurement is a hazardous thing.  I knew an old timer who said he used to sell chickens to an elderly woman in order to make a little pocket change.  It isn't clear whether or not she knew that he was selling her chickens that he had liberated out of her own flock.  It was amusing to hear him tell of it, but heinous still the same.
I hope your son can turn his soccer successes into something like maybe a college athletic scholarship.  Those things do wonders for household financial stability.  This challenge may very well be remembered as the WECSOG Ramen noodle challenge.  Looks like our friend Aztec brought enough coffee.  Thank goodness he informed Mama Bear not to put his challenge supplies back in the pantry.
I am a little concerned about friend BP Roberts with that apple in a bag.  Even without it, he still has plenty.  I do wish I had bought some crackers.
Best wishes.  G

 Gary!

I didn’t officially sign up due to some conflicts.  But I have been enjoying the conversation, and will be following along and cheering y’all on.

I finally found some of the coffee bags I've been looking for! If everyone is ok with it, I'm gonna switch out the ziplock of coffee with some of these. Four of them, as I usually drink two cups daily and I'll use two bags per cup.

I don't think I've ever seen Folgers coffee bags before.

I unfortunately couldn't convince the chicken to cross the road and walk into the house.  So, in fact, the chicken did not end up crossing the road.

I did run into a squirrel though.  I contemplated offering it a Nutty Buddy to come join me for "lunch" on the 9th, but I'm not sure Amanda would've appreciated a squirrel running loose should it have succeeded in escaping it's paper bag confines.

You want fresh squirrel? You just have to refill the bird feeders and they will show up.  :pok:
