Blade repairs/reprofiling
on:
March 15, 2026, 06:00:00 PM
I amassed several knives with damaged blades over the past months (broken tips, twisted/broken edges).
Today I attempted to repair some of them. I started with 240 stone - it took only several minutes to take away significant amount of material.
Once done, I did the sharpening with 1000 stone.
They turned out ok I believe - I consider them solid users now or good giveaways to many boy/girlscouts around me - they tend to loose their knives pretty often.

Good, workmanlike repairs. That restored much of the value to some abused blades. Best wishes. G

Excellent job, and an awesome way to allow others enjoy what a good pocket knife and some skill can do to someone else's "junk"!

Great job on those! I think anyone would be proud to own them and use them.

Looks good to me! I usually start with a file (for broken tips, not nicks on the edge), but the coarse stone obviously did the job.

Cracking work chap , well done
I shake my head in wonder at how some of those blades resembled a chain saw - what were the previous butcher-sorry, owners- trying to do with the knife

Great work! I especially like what you did with the small blade. You made a very functional-looking semi-wharncliffe.

Thank you for your kind comments! I am glad you like it.
I wonder as well why the previous owners used the blade for probably prying when more suitable tools like bottle/can opener are at their disposal literally just centimetres away..,
