I have noticed I can still read other posts and weirdly respond to other post despite my not being able to create new postings myself.

I do not make these rules. I can visit Facebook. I can respond to other postings. I can even post an image in response to another posting. I just can't create a post myself with no time limit told to me. I have tried several times to no avail. I wanted to post a couple of images of a Spyderco Byrd Harp in the MT.O Facebook page but can't.
