Wedding - what to wear?
on: April 10, 2026, 08:51:19 PM
We are invited for a wedding tomorrow. My wife is now contemplating which dress to pick, but I have the real task at hand- which one to carry for this special occasion?
Any recommendations?

That's quite a collection, so elegant! Personally, I always go with an Alox when I'm all dressed up, but you have so many great options. ::)

Women could never understand the real struggles of a man, which knife to carry.

Awl are nice, but I think a corkscrew is a must have at a wedding, just in case…

For a wedding and with your wife on your arm;
Rule 1, do not outdo your wife’s jewelry!

Rule 2, always take a step back when beside her, introduce her first. Make sure she is the focus.

Rule 3, be prepared, I did not see a corkscrew in the grouping???

I would select the the RED CROSS model for my statement knife.    A waiter, Spartan, or Sportsman for utility duties if needed.

Last wedding I attended caterer, could not find their cork screw(s), in the truck that broke down in route, so they say.  Just saying my TABLE was happy awl evening.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

A WISE man knows whether or not to say it!!!

Personally,I would carry something with scissors. A loose thread can be a crisis on wedding day.

+1 Scissors, and I've awlso loaned out the file on my knife quite a few times at fancy events. Is that a Director 3rd in?

Of course, if you carry two knives it's much easier...

The one all the way on the left has a corkscrew and buffalo horn scales, unless I miss my guess.

Perfect chance to finally use a corkscrew for its intended use.  :climber:

Right? I thought about that for a second too. When I got a SAK with a fancy scales, I think - that would be perfect for a formal event… And then there are too many fancy knives and not enough formal events.

That's a Windsor :)

I'd pic the 58mm MoP.

Thank you all for your valuable input! I finally decided to carry the Spartan/Standard with buffalo horn scales - to be covered for eventual corkscrew need and MoP Bijou - for the scissors and the mother of pearl scales, which feel very appropriate for a wedding.
With this combo I have the full utility, while maintaining high level of classiness for the special event.

Awesome choice! :dd:

But you need a MoP Champion :) https://vicfan.com/2020/11/victorinox-victoria-champion-mother-of-pearl/
That’s awesome! Ultimate wedding tool.
