How to make a 3D Philips driver for the LM bit adapter

This is a really cheap and cheerful mod. Not sure if it has been posted before.

Have you been frustrated by the short and soft-as-cheese Leatherman 2D bits? If you have access to metal working tools like a bench grinder or linisher, you could make a 3D driver to fit the LM bit adapter, by modifying the end of an impact driver bit.

Take an impact driver bit. Cut the end off with something like an angle grinder, with a cutting disc suitable to cut hardenend steel.



Now, shape the end to fit the LM bit adapter. Use the LM bit extender end as an example. I used a linisher on a bench grinder to grind the correct shape.











Make as many as you want. Long or short. Torx, square, hex, flat, Posidrive, or any other shape you need.
