Episode 028- What's the best ________?
on: April 24, 2026, 02:30:35 PM
It's new episode day, and Episode 28 looks into the question we always get here on the forum, on the FB group and IRL. Every time you talk about SAKs, multitools, pocket knives, fixed blades etc:

What's the best one?

We know the "best" one is the one you have with you.  We know that in order to determine what is "best" we need to know your use case.  We know that the "best" depends on things like your budget.  We know that the "best" is like trying to determine the "best" pizza toppings.  And we know the "best" is the Victorinox Compact.  :P

Even so, we go through what we think is the "best" in fixed blades, folders, SAKs and multitools, but then we take it a bit further, and we explore the reason people ask that question, and how we would alter our "best" choices given this different point of view.

Check it out:

Oh, and there's an added bonus on this one- YT is now auto translating the captions (subtitles) into whatever language you choose, so for those of you non English speakers, this could be a huge benefit!  Of course, I have to wonder how effective it is, so if you guys could provide feedback I'd appreciate it.  Like, is it decent enough, does it translate well, do the captions we have on them already get in the way?  I could really use your input on that!   :pok:

Here are the AI generated show notes.  I don't know how many people bother to read these, but the AI works hard and deserves recognition.  :D
