Lovely bit of scenery mate, where was that taken?

Thanks all for the compliments.  That panorama was taken in the San Juan mountains of SW Colorado.  We were on off-road trails at about 13,000 ft. elevation.  I hid my vehicle from the shot, it is behind the rock outcrop to the left of my wife and dogs.  I can't remember how many pictures I stitched together for that one, but it is very nearly a 360 degree panorama.  The rocky hill that you see at the far left of the picture is the same hill at the far right of the picture.

That area has been heavily mined for various types of ore (lead, silver, etc.) over the past 100 years or so.  The trails that remain were the old horse and wagon trails that linked the mines, processing facilities and what now are small ghost towns.  It's one of the most beautiful areas of the country, IMO.  The area is surrounded by the towns of Ouray, Silverton and Telluride.

Zork...  now there's a blast from the past!  It's almost hard to believe we used to find text adventures so entertaining.

Nice pic Cliosguy.  The environment you're working in is one I stay familiar with.

Hey, choose-your-path novels are the same as text adventures, so think of novels as text adventurers on rails (a rail adventurer, if you will). XD  Still, with that said, I need to download Zork 1-3 sometime. XD

Never heard of Zork, is it as old as Leisure Suit Larry?  I remember "Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards".

Older--it was released in 1979 or 1980.  I remember playing Zork on an Apple II+.  I had Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy (my fav), and Leather Goddesses of Phobos later.  I played Leisure Suit Larry on Apple IIGS, which would have been the mid-late 80's.

I didn't realize you can play the infocom text adventures online, here: http://www.xs4all.nl/~pot/infocom/

So long, and thanks for all the fish.

Me too - no white socks allowed. You can wear black ones for days until they actually "look" dirty :D
