Victorinox change the profile on their SAK file?  The file on the donor Mountaineer is different from the file on my Cybertool 41.  I gotta test it out to see if it'll cut the ice tool hardened steel....

I don't know.. The newer one is more course and is a lot stiffer.. it doesn't bend nearly as much!

Just got back from giving it a test run.  Despite feeling much less aggressive (read, I didn't think it had a chance), it actually cuts metal pretty well!  Not quite as fast as the newer file, but it would definitely sharpen up a pair of crampons or knock-off the burrs of a f'd up ice screw.  :tu:

It is weird how well it works considering how non-aggressive it feels to a finger tip...  :think:

I think it has only been in the last couple of years but I don't know exactly.  Anyone give us a idea?

Couple years I think.   About the same time as the magnifyer changed and the inexpensive champion plus' showed up.

i think its like the wood saw, it is diferent in some models, the saw of the OHT is diferent to de saw in the equestrian... 

equestrian, OHT, camper check the tip and the wide
custom swiss army knives
