Did it come with the pocket clip,or is that an add on? :salute:
Looks like a Nite-Ize clip
Correct. It is a Nite-Ize clip. Not as classy as some of the clip mods I've seen done on other Spirit Xs on here but it gets the job done :-)

can you buy these in the uk
I've always bought mine off of Amazon.

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

ill check them out  :salute:
Sounds good. It's a very simple process to apply and it holds very well. No slippage on the clip at all since it's been on the tool.

Yeah, the Nite Ize clip is great.  I have one on my G1 Wave and Swisstool.

Nite Ize is really good at finding market niches and filling them: S-biners, Mag Lite LED adapter kits, etc.

I only wish they were better at picking a company name. Deliberately-misspelled company names are a pet peeve of mine.

Spirit X landed yesterday. It's aweseome. It inspiried me to stay up until 3 AM and write a big comparison between it and 3 other compact MTs. I went to post it, but I exceeded the 20k character limit. Damn!  >:(

Well you can always divide it into multiple posts. :pok:

No, you do not suck. It tends to happen, but no reason we all can't learn from it. So what are your sharpening woes and what are you using to sharpen?

I know. That's why I asked so I can see if I can duplicate the results with my testing blade and see how they can be improved upon

And then you'll want to mod the scissors. Come on we can figure this out

I kinda like them, not big but strong and powerful.

They are very good but don't open very wide. I'll post a pic in the morning

Excuse the crappy photography.
The scissors work excellent and I often use them as wire cutters for those tricky wires that can give our beloved Spirit a headache.

Here they are next to the scissors on a Classic

There is an easy fix. I'll try to find the thread. Results in fully opened scissors.

Excuse the crap photos, but this should make it more obvious (after is the top right of the image):

Filed a little off the tip of the nub that fits under the head of the spring to allow the scissors to open wider.  I'll get a diamond file in there later to take the sharp corners off.

Easy mod to do, just be careful not to take too much off - there's no point having the scissors open too wide.

How did you get the file in there?

Lever the spring sideways and it'll pop out of the recess on the scissors blade, then you can swing the scissors right open to get the file in.

THIS is why I just much prefer the Swisschamp over the Spirit. Those darned scissors! They're far superior on a SAK.
