yes, this is a Spirit with a butter knife serrated blade. No swaps,
only modding done was a good bunch of sandpaper and lots of elbow grease

Two brand new Dutch Army Spirits. At Left one from the first batches, at Right one from the latest batches. Only difference is the manual and the arrangement of the Vic emblem (see 2nd pic.).

Cool!

Does the new version still have the etched vic shield on the plier head?

I wanted to have some modification discussion. I considered putting this in the mod forum but I haven't yet done the mods and I wanted to get opinions on what I am going to try.

1. Grind down the ridge that holds the tools in their slots.
--- In other words I will be opening all the tools then grinding down the small ridge to allow the tools to release slightly easier from the body. Opening the tools is quite difficult if you have soft nails or an injury.

2. Modify the chisel tool to have  a full serrated edge rather than just a few sections of serrations

3. Turn the can opener into a spoon gouge, this is inspired by a video I saw by Zachary Fowler on his you tube channel.

4. Remove the completely useless parcel hook on the awl and extend the chisel edge all the way to the base of the tool (giving it an additional half inch of depth penetration)

Thoughts? Considerations? Concerns? Cautions?

Cheers,
H.G.

The hook of the awl might be the piece of hardware that prevents the awl from falling too deep inside the handle.
Investigate this thoroughly before grinding!! :ahhh

The spoon gouge.

Do you mean a small sharpened spoon shaped tool to be able to carve a spoon more easy?
Would this mean you'd want to bend it?
