What happened to the locking mechanism on one handle?

modded it so that the blade was non-locking
I removed the spring  :salute:

It is but just the head.I used the appropriate abrasives to remove the machine marks and then buffed it with black emery.It is like the proverbial mirror.That's why you see the reflection of the wool felt cloth in the head.I didn't polish the body though.

It kind of hasn't left my pocket since... I think some of my other tools are growing jealous :D

The loose Black Spirit occasionally moves around in my pocket and produces unsightly bulges that might have raised eyebrows. I'm debating whether I should try to reproduce the mod on that one, but I lack the confidence for now.
