I'm finally in!  I purchased this beauty from SOS 24 earlier this month and am finally getting around to posting a pic.
Very nice Barry. :like:   I have the same ‘butter knife’ version which is an interesting design and quite unique on a multitool.

That's why I wanted this version Max.  It's definitely different, but it cuts very well.

Realized today that the Gerber bit adapter works also on the Spirit. It is not a tight fit as on the Gerbers of course, but certainly usable  :tu:

Pretty sure seasoned members here knew this, but might be helpful for newer members. I certainly did not know that  :hatsoff:

Even though El Capitan looks like a whopper it is an easy carry. The clip works perfectly, and the knife is fairly narrow, front-to-back, so I can carry it around in a pocket with my wallet (admittedly, a wallet with not much in it at the moment) and not have the feeling I'm carrying a brick. I use it for cutting open bales of hay, cleaning edges on freshly cut wood, chopping vegetable, murdering pizzas... all of  which could be done with a far smaller knife, no doubt - but those tasks are just a little bit more fun with a knife that's so comfortable in the hand. (It's micarta on the other side.)
Closed, it's rounded like a large smooth pebble, and it opens with a very pleasing "thwack!". It somehow manages to be gigantic and elegant at the same time. Brutal and civilised. One of my top 3 knives, a real keeper!

And the Swisstool Spirit's not bad either! But look at that tiddly little blade. Needs a proper folder to keep it company!

After having sold/traded a million Spirits and having been without one for months, I got a pre-2010 BO Spirit S as part of a rather large SAK lot last week. It's been used and the BO has worn of very nicely. It looks great! Tools are in great condition. I've seen dozens of BO ones but those have always been mint. This one I will keep as a user (replacing my beat-up SwissTool).

So I can join this club again for the 42nd time :P

Fat... I thought the newest models had beefier pliers (like the Swisstool) but I think I was mistaken. Sorry!
In fact, that XC has the oldest plier head (pre 2010  ).

I misread  :twak:
seems like I have older and newer gens :
One has
- Swiss logo on the head and
- Logo before the "Victorinox" on the handle (is that pre-2010?)
- Silver colored "brass" pivot for the scissors
- VSSR on the blade tang

The other two have
- Swiss logo on the head,
- Logo is above the "Victorinox" on the handle
- Gold colored "brass" pivot for the scissors
- VSS on the blade tang

I don't see any difference in the head size/shape though, but I can't tell for sure as I only have two different Spirits ;)

Count me in, it's a  2018 " X " from the nice folks at Swiss Knife Shop. I wanted something laser engraved other than my name. According to the Shop this is a somewhat common engraving 😁
I miss the shield on the pliers.
