Update to the update!!

The replacement packed arrived late afternoon.

Step one, the inside package was sealed, and appeared  to have no tampering.

Step two, the correct item was in the carton.

[ Quoting of attachment images from other messages is not allowed ]

I am expecting BO dust, gritty feel accessing implements,   A need to wash down and oil, just as I have with other makes of BO MTs.

Nope, this shiny smooth, well oiled, no trouble accessing any of the implements, other than short finger nails🙄

It (pamphlet) says finish is back oxide, a protection coating. Darn!  It feels like BLACK Stainless and same for every tool.   My gosh the Swiss do it first rate. 😎

One hand nubs on blades work great.   This tool will be used the next several days. I am  very pleased!😃  :like:

Sweet!

In other news after allmost one week the Screw which was quite difficult to ably when i did attache the PocketClip is still quite thight ^^

I still wonder why there are no 2Hand Swisstools whit an Pocketclip ..

I also Wonder: Is this the biggest Toolset on an Swisstool, or are they bigger ones? , And why is my old Swisstool from the 1990tes (whit the straight Scales) feeling lot more heavy?

If im not badly mistaken pocket clips goes to regular versions too. only exception may be older swisstool which has only round hole  ( cannot use corckscrew ) There is different versions to Spirit and SwissTool

Was more like why is only the 1 Hand Swisstool Available whit an Clip Preeinstalled, there are 2 Clips from Victorinox for Purchase, one is for the Spirit X and the other for the Normal Spirit ..  but as you only Screw it one one time, its  not that bad ..

Did use it today as an German Legal Cutter Replacement: At first the Blade which cuts Pallete Foil fine, but the Sharp Packetopener Edge works lot better ..
On the Deploiment of the Tools it might have some room for optimission: I cant Open the Blade or other Tools when i where Glovs, this did work on the Roxon Flex or the Leathermans i had bevor this awefull §42a came out ..

The Package Opener Cuts even Cardboard ..

I observed that as well.  One model of the Spirit is sold with clip install, for about 20% more $ wise.

I did observe only two clips listed for the Spirit and SpiritX

A Stainless Steel Color and a SS BLACK.

Victorinox Store was one.

What I did find strange was on my search. The Amazon site lists the pocket clip for $70 (US) and this same in the Victorinox store at Amazon.

Yet, a Google search revealed many retailers. $20 + S/H

Some were $5 S/H others were $10 and others free if over $50.

The Corkscrew was only 9 iirc.

I did order a Black clip for my new Spirit, as I do not like the Molly Style sheath mine arrived in and the OH model does fit inside the Regular Spirit’s leather sheaths. The OH nub interferes.   The one hand does fit nicely in my Leather Pancache style sheath I have available that I also use for a REBAR OR BOND WHEN I SLIP INTO MY BACK POCKET.
If I start and end the day above ground, it is a good day!

Hope yours is as good!

My Pocketclip was 17 € Amazon Germany, works much better than this Swissclip for the normal SAK .. ,
I only have still to find an Solution for my Ratschett: its a bit longer than my other Bit Holders, so its barrely fits my EDC Pouch, but i dont want to carry this stuff in the Belt Pouch as its just too big .. would be nice if there where an Belt Pouch available just for the Bitset or something ..

When my Fingernails are Strong enough to open my Old Swisstool, i will make some compare pix on Weekend ..

There is a hack to open SAK implements if your nails are short or broken 😜

Use a SAK TOOTH PICK!

Use the head of the toothpick, slip the head’s wedge portion upside down into the nail Nick and pull up and then grap the tool.

Works like a charm after a few practice attempts.

Apparently this a common issue with still tools🙄

As a follow up, my Pocket Clip arrived this afternoon and is now attached to my Spirit MXBS.

What the package resembles, front and back.

It does appear from the packaging, that Victorinox does make one style of clip for the SPIRIT tool. Available in SS and Black.

:like: These pocket clips are I think by far the best multitool pocket clip.  Good retention and very low profile.  Smooth edges and no hot spots when using the implements or pliers.

Something have to be wrong whit my Fingernails, there where never that easy breaking..
But whit the Nailfile on the Minichamp you can quite easy open the stuff too ..
Did today finally use the a sunshine to make 2 Pictures of a part of my Multitool Collection: ROXON Flex, Leatherman FreeP4 (which got the easiest to open Toolset of the 4, but unfortunately its got an One Hand Open Blade so its not legal outside of my House in Germany), my OG Swisstool from the 90tes, and the Swisstool Spirit X i got 1 week ago ..

Might be it will be better when i open and close the tools a few more times ..

Just a Conspiration Theory but could it be its not my Fingernails but I have just bad luck whit new Victorinox Tools that are no normal SAK ? I did test on the Spirit which one I can open whit my Fingernails and its the shorter Tools Can and Bottle Opener (at least the important ones), the Multi Funktional Scraper,  (also important), and when I don't use the Nail Nick but grip the Blade whit my whole Finger on the side (carefully only the Side,) I get also the Knife out, but for everything else I need the help of my Minichamp Nailfile or its Spatel..

Now that i have the Spirit exacly 14 Days im quite pleased whit the tool, shure some times its still a bit stuck and i take my whole finger to open the Long Tools .. at least its for shure no One Hand Open Blade, ..  my most used tool so far is the Shissel Tool, i wonder if its strong enough to get used also as an Bee Hive Open Tool, but maybe i should use more likely an dedicated Hive Tool for this task: If this breaks its only around 8 € and not 190 € ..

I would wish Victorinox would take the System of Leatherman Free but whit the Blade still Two Hand, but after the Tools are out they work quite good ..
Or an Roxon Flex System but whit Victorinox Quality ..

I did discover the Tools who did break my Fingernails did really stuck, might be its because they got suction force holding them back as the Tool had quite a lot of this Oil from the Factory from the start? Now its works whitouth big issues ..

Whe do Beekeeping, yes, raising did they by themself, there are quite independent Animal ^^

How often should i check the Screw from my Clip? Now 2 weeks after i got the Tool, its seems to hold up quite well,
its also said the Metall on this Screw is not the best so i have to take care not to "screw it" ..

Check it every couple months or so, depending on how often to carry the SPIRIT!  :hatsoff:

I doubt, the screw metal is soft!  I would be suspicious of the clip, and careful with the threads on the clip. For the clip to be able the flex, the steel used to make clip must be less rigid, so that makes the threads on the clip vulnerable to stripping if over tightened.

Snug should be adequate, or, apply a small dab of BLUE LOCKTIGHT, to the screw threads. Then forget about it coming loose.
(If BLUE heated, the thread can easily be backed out!)

What pouch are you referring?

I do not like the position the mole type rides on my belt, so I added a pocket clip and I am pleased how the tool rides in front right pants pocket, both jeans and canvas material styles. Dress pants no so much.

If you are concerned about the screws coming out, possibly use some blue Loctite on the threads.

Good day to have a Spirit on me. We went to replace our grill and the new one was just a tad too tall to clear the back of the van. So, used the Phillips driver to separate the grill portion and leg base.

I then used it to disassemble the old grill for the dump.  Used the Phillips driver to remove all the screws, scissors to clip the gas line zip ties, and pliers to pull them out.

Thanks, awl.  It’s a piece of art and a solid tool for sure.  My Spirit XC has seen a fair amount of work in the short time I’ve had it and it holds up like new.  Vic didn’t invent the PBMT but certainly took it to the next level.

:iagree: It has everything I can think of, especially with a bit kit and corkscrew.  I've used it a bunch of times out in the woods.  It has a look and feel all it's own.  There's an online vendor who calls it the Ferrari of multitools.  I wore mine to work last night.

I wonder if i get any benefits Pocketcarrying the Spirit X, and my Huntsman together? , Booth have about the same Toolset beside the Hook and the Huntsman is a bit more confortable to hold during Blade Work, its not like the Huntsman adds Metric Tonnes of Extra Weight..

That is one question you must sort out for your own!

The Huntsman lacks a pliers combo.

But you said you carry the bit kit in and EDC pouch.

I during the summer months will carry my SPIRIT, or REBAR or SIGNAL in my CrossBody bag.   A SPARTAN in the pocket.

Yet, I always try my best to have a Plier kit within reach.

There is no wrong or correct way!
