Just got a Spirit S to supplement my 2 X's.

Gotta love the 'X'.

Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

That is a sweet tool.  I am torn between that one and the original spirit.  I have to wait awhile before I can get either, but it's coming.

I went for the 'X' for two reasons; a) I'm not a great fan of serrated blades and don't really have the gear for sharpening them, b) it's what Felinevet had in stock. :D

I had an original spirit, and I loved it.  I am leaning towards the X for my next MT purchase though, pretty much for the same reasons you did.  I don't really need a serrated blade anyway, but I do need scissors.

I cant decide what will be next:

SwissTool X (maybe plus version) or ST Spirit S (don't like scissors on Spirit, or am I wrong)

Now I'm leaning toward Spirit, but any thought will be useful...

Don't do any hard work, just for general purpose EDC.

I would go with an S if the scissors aren't needed . For EDC , I would prefer the Spirit , 95% of the Swisstool's capabilities , lot nicer more ergonomic package .

Absolutely.  The swisstool is awesome, but it is BIG.  Boggles my mind that they put such similar loadouts on two completely different tools.

The scissors on the spirit are very useful, although they are quite small.

I am very pro spirit, I miss mine all the time and wish I had the funds to get another.  Problem is I like some other tools more so they get my money for now.

Now there are two more question arised while finding a best suited solution for my EDC.

1. Advices considering models ST Spirit Plus: model 3.0338 (the "L" thing extension) price tag 67,05$ vs. model 3.0239 (ratchet) price tag 77,40$
2. Advices considering pouches: Leather vs. Nylon

I'm very close to buy one of them just interesed in funcionality issues with different models and rachets...

Like I said it is ment to be carried as EDC for medium tasks. My job keep's me away from home living in hotels, hostels and private accomodations 5 days/week, a lot of my time is spent in car (a van that is VW Transporter), and mainly in urban and industrial areas. I'm planning to pair it with single blade folder, and am allmost certain it will be SAK Sentinel w/clip...

So, any thoughts??

I've never tried the ratchet, I have the 'L' thing (I guess the english word for it is 'wrench', but I'm not sure of it). It offers longer reach, in my opinion, but eventually it's just a question of personal preference.

2. Advices considering pouches: Leather vs. Nylon

The sheaths are both well made. Nylon will last longer, I suppose. My Spirit Plus came with the leather sheath though and I really can't complain. It's almost four years old and still looks great.

Another thing I sold that I regret is my Spirit.  I'm considering replacing it with a Spirit X.  I'm really liking the looks of that bo though, especially that tactical sheath
