Stupid question, but i got 2.5 mm thingies and i need to get them all three down to sub 2.25 mm, I have tried most things (usually including it being the 'bit' in a powertool to rotate the thingie fast while sanding it).

I cant really get any where, do i use too fine of a  paper for it? i only got 800 and finer paper. Any advice would be grateful as i feel im stuck at an easy step of the whole really fun adventure!  :climber:

I use 100-200 grit mainly for smoothening and a metal file for thinning. I'd say that you need to be more aggressive on the rod thingys.
And yes, I spin them on the drill.
Good luck.
Hooked, like everyone else. ;)

All hail the hook!

How about deleting the brass pins/bushings and using M2 X10mm panhead screws with corresponding nuts to put my SAK back together?
Anyone try this?

Thank-you. :hatsoff:

However you did make me look to see when I first wrote this and I suddenly feel a lot older than I did five minutes ago.  :-\

People have. The scales clip nicely onto the bushings.      Welcome to the boards nik.

Very cool, this makes it so much easier than reading 10 different threads covering 10 different aspects of modding.  I may even give this a go sometime soon.  If I may make a suggestion, can you please clarify the pin diameters for each frame size, just so there's no confusion? e.g.

91mm: 2.5mm outer, 2.2mm (2.25) center
84mm: ?
74mm: ?
58mm: ?

What about sizes for Wenger 85mm knives?

Charles.
