It seems I was wrong. Clicking it once turns it on low, then turning it off then on again turns it on high. But, if you have it on low, then turn it off and don't turn it back on right away, it seems to reset, so it will turn on low again. So, unless you turn it on low and turn it off, then immediately turn it on again. This is a much better set up than the Twin Task, and makes the S2 significantly more acceptable than I thought.Def
I finally picked up an S2 myself, and I am pleasantly surprised. I was killing some time at MEC and saw them and decided to grab it to get my mind off some of the BS we are currently putting up with at the freaking bank. Most of what you said I would agree with- for some reason I thought it was a plastic body, so I was pleasantly surprised at the metal. It's a little thinner in the body than I normally like, but on par with most other AAA lights I have so nothing I can really complain about. The switch is nice and solid feeling, which I also like. What I don't like is the same issue I have with the Streamlight Twin Task series, where the mode alternates when turned off. This means that the light comes on at the lower level when the button is clicked, then when clicked again it turns off, then the next time it's turned on it's in high mode. I like to know what mode the light is going to come on at, without having to try and remember whether I fried my retinas last time. Other than that it's quite nice, and if you don't mind that kind of interface (someone must like it since so many lights are set up that way) then this might just be the light for you. For me however, this one is probably going to be kept in my laptop bag or glove compartment as a back up light, which is something that still see's a lot of use with me!Def
