Paracord and lanyards
on: March 20, 2009, 07:22:51 PM
I'd like to get some lanyards on my SAK's and I see there is quite a bit of info about on making them. But can anyone advise me on how much paracord to get?
Ta.

The style of lanyard really makes a difference to how much cord you'll use MB, so it's difficult to say what you'll need.

Paracord isn't too pricy, so I tend to buy it in 100ft lengths, it all gets used up eventually.

I used to come here a lot.

I've only just started tying myself but, if you get into it, you might go through the stuff quicker that you'd realise.  So I'd say at least 50' but more likely 100'.  It's handy for other stuff as well.
Be excellent to each other and always know where your towel is.

A basic cobra stitich will use up about 1' to 1" so you really do get through it fast. You need a few colours too so you can experiment with different patterns.

Be warned - it's addictive  :o

Thanks. It sounds like fun, but I've got a lot to learn obviously  :o I'm gonna get some cord, do some knots and post pics so you can all be amazed  :ahhh
