Title: One of the cooler watches I own...a Timex Expedition WS4.
Post by: Chako on September 10, 2018, 03:28:06 AM
If you like big, this is your watch. I bought this watch back in 2009. Surprisingly enough, I haven't worn it much, and that is a shame as it is a really cool watch. I think I will have to start wearing it more instead of my Casio. The weather station is a cool factor of this watch, but it does a lot on top of that.

I just found another watch that looks like the WS4 called the Grid Shock. Yeah, I had to buy one off of Amazon. Curious to see what that one will be like. Will post photos when I get it.

I like it!   went straight to ebay to get my own........     but ......   I cannot justify the cost

the "I am getting one of these!" lasted less than 2 minutes.  it was a fun two minutes full of promise and desire..

oh well.   you should wear yours.

I wore it to work today. When I got the watch back in 09, I thought the watch was way big to wear and looked silly. These days with larger watches being all the rage, I do not feel so self conscious wearing it.

I do not let others opinions affect my choices (well, of what to wear at least)

I cared in the past, but realized it did not matter.

I wore my NRA hat to work today.  it was amazing to see so many people look at it in utter disgust.
like a litmus test

Well that didn't take long. Only 3 days for me to get the new Timex Grid Shock. Looks like they improved a few aspects of the older WS4 such as better LCD resolution that doesn't comprise of small dots. The WS4 still gives you compass, altimeter, thermometer, and barometer, not to mention a small weather station, making the WS4 a bit more exciting. The Grid Shock gives you 3 time, sound and/or vibrating alarms, a hydration alarm, and the usual chronograph and timer functions.  It should also survive a harder impact than the WS4, and I think it is also more weather proof. I like both of them so far.
