Title: Swiss Mil issue BO Vic Spirit X CC!!
Post by: Metropolicity on January 11, 2013, 04:33:55 AM
Oh boy oh boy!

My big 30th birthday is coming up and to celebrate it and Skinth's first year I bought myself a fairly rare and amazing multitool, a Swiss military issue, BO Vic Spirit X with cap crimper.

I just wanted to share what a beaut she is!

What's that peeking behind the handles?

Cap Crimper!

Compared to my Silver Ghost.

The rest of the tool set is no different than a Spirit X except X's don't often come in BO.

The saw and blade handle

And the file and scissor handle.

I am very excited to use this sucker...despite being rare, I have no intention of selling it or collecting it.

If anything I want to hand it off to my future son and say...when I was 30...

Where would the number be? I didn't order the MOLLE sheath. I wanted the goodies.

I got mine when they first came out for civilian use. It came with that great molle sheath and all, but no numbers on it whatsoever. A couple of years down the line, this soldier is all scratched up; a real veteran... :)

Uuups, I thought it was one of the numbered ones. I saw it now at the local shop, 3.0224.3CCH. Still a great addition.

Have fun with it! :) I'm not carrying my BO, as its from the limited run, but hope I'll get another BO soon, then it will be EDC time. :)

My other BO Spirit S is holding up. It shows finger prints really easily. It seems to hold up better than the LM BO

Mine just came in the mail yesterday....... I sold off my lightly-used Spirit S BO to help fund it, as the Spirit X CC has been a grail user for a while now.

Took about 20 minutes to wipe down the entire tool with an oil rag to remove the excess oxide coating. They sure do ship with a lot of factory oil, huh? The black oxide looks great over the polished stainless (I find it helps with the perceived 'slipperiness' of the regular polished Spirit).

This is pretty much the best multitool on the market at the price point right now. The fit/finish is always astonishing on these Spirits. The sheath that came with it is the nicest I've seen yet.... very intuitive and easy to access the tool.

I'll get some pics up and maybe a video review in the coming days!

(.... and now I'm eyeing a full-sized SwissTool X.......... does it ever end?)

If you can wait a few days I can get you a Dutch military one (serrated blade, normal blade, no scissors, no "cap crimper" on pliers) for about 100 euros. New with leather pouch.

Great looking knife!   You'd think Victorinox would make the BO SwissTool widely available, like Leatherman does with the Rebar, Wave and ST300.

The Molle pouch is one of the best sheaths made--good tough material, fits on a normal belt (this is the only way I use mine), and can fit many large multitools and folders.

Is the base Spirit X BO CC actually rare? Just wondering as I got a never used one in the olive MOLLE pouch today for 40€, did I make some epic catch instead of just getting a good deal?

Here's a NIB Victorinox "3.0224.3CCH SwissTool Spirit black" that I received today.
The funny thing is that it has a 2005 dated manual for the Spirit XC 3.0227.L.

Awesome!
I got a lot of those Dutch military Spirits for other people - never actually kept one for myself and when I did they were all gone!
Eventually I got a black Cap Crimper X (whatever it's called) from Italy. Nice, but I miss those super cool Dutch military sheaths!
