While we lived in the mountains when I was just a kid I'm so glad mom decided she like the beaches more. Great you get out regardless and am I to assume you are still in your shorts? Your poor mom must have chased you around the house with warmer clothes on when you were a little one .
I was out for a little hike with some friends a couple of weeks ago. Not what you'd call lovely weather, but actually nicer than the forecast said it was going to be. :D

Silly, I know, but it was actually pretty comfortable and pleasant to walk in. Especially nice was to not have that "swish" of Gore-Tex rubbing against itself.
Damn you and your reliably good weather!!

Oh no mention of that, I'm just foolish :D. Had shorts on for my ride today, I think the high while I was riding was around 32 or so.
Great pic mate. Looks like a fantastic place for a hike.
Shoveld 243 feet of snow. OK, maybe not that much, but it felt like that much!!!!

Spent some needed time outside exploring local trails and a creek. We got some much needed rain a few weeks ago so lots of wild growth. Played around with a sun compass which surprisingly worked pretty well. If you were lost the sun compass would be better than walking aimlessly in a direction.Cool pics! Nice work on the shadow stick.
I couldn't get a better picture but according to my phone its fairly close. I would be confident in using this method to strike out in the direction based off the sun compass.

Well, I tried! I even played the two rod game leaving one casted with live worms on it while playing with various lures on the other. Not a single bite:/ Though this pond is stocked with Trout and I only had bass gear in my truck, so I think I was fighting a losing battle. Nice nonetheless. Sat and fished with the Red Sox opening day broadcast on the radio with a hot dog and a mountain dew, then hit the antique shop across the street.

Since my summer place is on the Bruce Trail I sound better than I am when I say I hike it a lot. The trail goes by my front door. However, it's not far from some pretty rugged hiking and biking so I do that often, especially this year. I've been throwing my bicycle in the pickup truck and driving to various trailheads to ride, it avoids the boring and exhausting road riding, even ditching my bike and hiking where the bike won't go easily.
I hate bug repellent so I have to keep moving, and at my age and fitness that means pacing myself.
I always carry the whistle, folding knife and/or multi-tool and/or small sheath knife, sun hat and bike helmet, water, and whatever else I need, but try to keep it light.
Went for a little fishing trip! Got to use the recent purchase from Saknight! (http://images.tapatalk-cdn.com/15/09/07/3047a589e482a07af951f49fe8fb2566.jpg)

Explored a once well used trolly car rail line and old mining area. There's roughly 8k acres of hiking and exploring to do in this river valley. The area was reclaimed after years of decay. The trail path travels under a very busy highway which was neat. We did about 5 miles on trails and ventured a bit off the beaten path as well.Nice pics! Looks like a good area to go exploring.
We went out to a scenic trail on Saturday to check out some color change but it was only about 20-25% change so too early for that. There was some but not too much. Most trees looked like paint brushes, green with the tips all colored in red/orange/yellow!
Just walked around there awhile then headed home!
Friday we drove from Wisconsin back to Michigan via the Upper Peninsula (we live in the lower Peninsula) so big loop around, across the Mackinaw bridge at nite was kinda cool. I also seen a good size herd of Elk, about six or seven of them which was pretty cool. No mouse though! :)

Very impressive. Biggest herd I've ever seen. Also very hit-or-miss. Was in the same area a few months back with out-of-state relatives and didn't see a chipmunk.
The town of Estes Park, just east of RMNP, is a major wintering site for elk.
G'Day,
A mate and I too the motorbikes for some fresh mountain air in the Kanangra-Boyd National Park. The signpost is rather explicit with the stuff you need to take. We saw one other vehicle in the total of 150 km off road we did in the two days. Best riding we'd done in a long time. All up was 950 kms in the two days with some breath taking views and awesome lunch stops.
Cheers,
Pete

Someone gets some magnificent wildlife in their backyard, and the first thing Harley thinks about is making it a sandwich and perchance a slice of cake.....
I don't think their diets are the same as ours mate, so if you're thinking of keeping in some guacamole and dips and some antipasti in case a stray fox wanders in, I wouldn't bother pal ;)
Well...........I slept on a friends' roof Saturday night
...and, did your friend know that you were sleeping there?
Reminds of the classic scenario "husband comes back earlier than expected, the wife's friend has to climb out of the window really quickly and stay on the balcony/roof overnight.." :D :D
You, however, had to get up early, as it became really hot after 6 am.
Will an Ag grade herbicide kill it?
BTW, a wheelbarrow as a fire pit, brilliant!
What beach is that in FL?Technically it's South Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort.

Hiraethus, bummer you missed the cafe but sound like a great ride.
Thats the spirit :tu:. As cliche as it is, you just gotta do it. Thinking, planning, and waiting for the right time are all a means to keep us from getting out an doing it. It sure is a nice feeling after a great ride or whatever it is we do. At 2 1/2 he'll be ready soon enough to get our with dad on his own bike. That'll be great fun when that happens.
Bummer ! At least it wasn't the front wheel.

For this game no. 10 minute drive.
The maximum i would usually drive would be 45 minutes.
I should really do it more often.

Thanks guys  Let's just say no records were broken unless there was one for the slowest time Was on a tandem with my wife so did not dare go all the way to the top of the turning banks. They are much steeper than they look on TV. So I guess scraping your knee turning will be very difficult to do. But it will be a blast to ride a motor bike for sure. Do the next best thing, come ride the Dallas MS150 next year.

Some reason that will not work today.
1. Both have their own homes with yards, actually bigger than mine.
2. Both are bigger than me. Oldest is 6'7", youngest is 6'6". Me I'm only 6'4"
3. Both buy their own groceries, and I can only handle task at the holidays.
4. In a couple of years I will hire grandsons, they should be old enough by then.
5. My wife makes me do it now. And tells me if I did it to her standard, which is usually the same as mine.

Did about 7 miles on a gorgeous day. A heavy marine layer over the city but up in the mountains it was sunny. Elevation was roughly 6500 ft above sea level.
My partner did great considering her baby feet needed a moleskin about 30 mins in. Drank about 40oz water and ate 1 banana, 1 apple, handful of peanuts, and a 1/2 cliff bar during my round trip.
As always I carried a carbon steel fixed blade, Swisstool, Swisschamp, and assorted gears. I had two 40oz water container which was the heaviest things I carried. 1 SS bottle and 1 Nalgene bottle. Next time I'll just bring my bladder.
Beautiful pic

Went camping with my wife and 3 kids (ages 5, 3, and 9mo) for their first overnight. It was ridiculously hot, and our 9 month old still doesn't like sleeping, so it was far from idyllic, but everyone agreed to go again in the fall so it was a success in my book.
I had my Hercules with me, which made shaved some kindling and whittled down marshmallow sticks (had to make a fire despite the heat :) )
And that is a great pic Grathr

My wife isn't a fan of camping. We went as a family for an overnight about four years ago. We've not done it again since. :D However the bad memories must be fading as she tentatively (see what I did there?;)) agreed that we might try it again.
Nice pic Grathr!

Our favorite part of camping is always the cooking... This was the first evening meal--chicken bisque soup w/biscuit topping. I cooked chili for 6 hours on Saturday that was pure heaven.

Took some visiting relatives up to Rocky Mountain NP. Only a couple of elk, but saw 30 or 40 mule deer in small herds.

I love that area. My family has a cabin between Estes and RMNP that was built back in the early 1900's. I usually spend a week or two there in September, but I didn't make it out this year. The Elk rut is fantastic, and the bears seem to be more numerous than years past. I saw several black bears on the property last year, and moose in the Indian Peaks area.

Seen grizzlies up in Yellowstone and Denali, but never seen a black bear. Seen moose in a number of places but not Colorado. Understand there are a number of them up near Red Rocks Lake in the Indian Peaks Wilderness. We've had a warm summer and the elk don't seem to be moving out of the high country yet.

Absolutely :tu: I love night hikes or even simple walks, especially through the forest.
Headlamp on your forehead is a must for me for night hikes - I love having both hands free.
BTW I forgot to mention I somehow stood on a nail somewhere along the path :o Thankfully my shoes are really thick and firm, it didn't reach my foot. I pulled it out with my SwissTool pliers - after this experience I am even more willing to carry my SwissTool on every hiking/camping adventure.

I know there are some on here who think pliers are superfluous on hikes, but I always carry some. I have had to pull thorny twigs from my soles several times, plus it makes handling hot items easier, or pulling needles through heavy materials when doing field repairs. In fact I use pliers far more than a folding saw blade, which many deem to be indispensable.

Last Sunday we hiked up Kaiser Wilhelm, a prominent large hill/small mountain right on the outskirts of town.
The hike was 12.5km and it took us 3.5 hours with a total elevation change of 2030m.......what fun.
We started before sunrise and made the summit by 7:20am........by necessity due to the heat, it was 35C by the time we got home.
Megan and I decided to go for a hike the other day in Gatineau Park. It was really more of a stroll as I have a lot of problems getting too far. We ended up only going a couple of miles all told, but there were a lot of elevation changes too, which didn't help matters!Nice place, I would like it there.
Other than the icy and snowy bits the walk was fairly easy going overall.

Thanks. Its 3700 acres of protected land. I'll be getting back out to do some other trails. Cool thing is there are designated Mt Bike trails and even horse trails.

Just in case anyone is wondering just how big of an idiot I am.....
Yesterday I bought skates and today I am heading out to try them. It's been over 30 years since the last time I skated, and I wasn't any good at it then either.
Now I'm over 40, with a total of ten screws and a metal plate holding my feet together. :ahhh
Don't worry, I'm sure Megan will film the whole thing, if for not other reason to make it easier to explain to the paramedics what happened....

We saw sun today, a totally bright day but it only hit like 52 with a crisp breeze. But I'm totally proud of the Mrs. We were going to go for a walk, but with no roll! And she wanted to push it further, so I took out the walker! So we ended up going alll the way down to the store, doing a little shopping, met the older son while down there, and then all the way back. She had to sit a couple times on the walker, but that's the furthest she's done, around 1-1/2miles! She did good!It was, I wouldn't mind some warm days with some sunlight! Ducttapetech great pics. Thanks! There will be from eight to ten of us on Sunday if all goes well. Safety in numbers, not that the black bear, coyote, bobcat, or fox will bother us. Still, I gotta wonder about the lone attractive young ladies traipsing about the forest in yoga pants and the like. Bipedal predators are more of a concern than all the others.

Want to get to Monument Valley in Arizona, and Capitol Reef in Utah. Both are supposed to be spectacular, but both are out in the middle of nowhere.

Yeah will be bringing it up from the basement in a few hours to throw a few things on with the neighbors, but also since our older kid will be working and will miss out on it, we got our own hotdogs, burgers, and brats, to throw on tomorrow, only thing is not only do I use charcoal but I also throw on a flavored wood block for it to add a little smoke flavor!Me and the Mrs went for a walk, even took the neighbors three daughters! But tomorrow we will be firing up the Weber charcoal for the first time this year!
JR
Weber goodness, yum! :dd: :gimme:
One of my kids is training for a running race coming up soon and normally I ride beside her and yell encouragement.
Today she was going along the river where the bike couldn't and stupidly I decided to run with her.
It is official, my legs hate me.
After sorting my front garden the next was to turn an 8m x 4m patch of nettles that used to be my veg patch back into something I could use. It's cleared, weed killed twice and covered while I get the next bit sorted.

The plan is to level it off with a slight downhill grade. Triple ply membrane. Six 1.8m by 0.9m planters to build to stand on it so I can grow a few veggies again and manage them with my knackered back, and 3" of wood bark all around the planters. A couple of 900mm square planters to build to grow some fresh herbs.
This gardening lark is expensive, and my back has done way more than it should over the 5 day weekend I just had. Glad to be back at work for a rest.
That first pic :o. Looks like a wonderful place to visit.
Looks good Kevin,

They finally got Trail Ridge Road open (wonder why it took so long? :D ), so took a drive up to Rocky Mountain National Park today. Spectacular as always. Saw several dozen elk in small herds, surprisingly high, most of them above timberline.
I spent all day in the sun destroying what's left of my back and turned this

That's the first 2 built. 5 more to do, but need another 2 car loads of wood to build them all. Trip to Wickes tomorrow.

Looks good man! Sorry about your back though.
Looks good man! Sorry about your back though.
Good work Kev.
What sort of treatment does the timber have (if any)?
Not sure what they use over there for treatment but if it's anything like what they use here for pine I would line the insides of the planters with plastic, mostly to protect your veges from absorbing the nasty chemicals but would probably also help the timber last longer too.
More work on my raised beds. My sister came and shifted a ton and a half of top soil into them for me. After building planters yesterday and today my back wasn't up to shovelling dirt as well.Looking good, if your keeping the fence red put a sak symbol on it, lol
It's starting to look better. One more big one to build then I can fill the walkway area with a few inches of wood bark.

When this is finished I need to do something with the fence.

I've had a read up on it since you mentioned it. Since 2011 it is a non toxic preservative so no need to line them. I'm glad it is because I really didn't want to empty 3 ton of top soil out to do it.
swim, went to the luna park..
I rode 250 miles across Wales. Started at 8 AM yesterday (Saturday), finished at 3 AM Sunday. First time I've ridden this distance for a few years but completed the ride faster than I have before - I guess 4 years of sleep deprivation from raising two kids has got to be good for something. Had a headwind for the first 2/3 of the ride, but the night section back to the finish was great - a tailwind and empty roads all the way back. The last 20 miles seemed to take forever and I was very relieved to finish before it got light. Got achy knees and a tingly left hand today but otherwise feeling OK. Could do with eating all the things though.

Fancy tandoming to the meet then? I would definitely help with the pedalling.

Finally got to hit the range today. Ugh. It's been four months.A bad day at the range is better than a good day work.
Sent 50 at two targets, both at 15 yards. Lost part of one, I scored on my thumb tack and it kind of exploded, so I can only account for 36 of them. Given how I was shooting before I ginsued a corner of my target, I'd estimate 40-42 were on the paper.
I want to blame some of it on the ammo, it's Federal's 115gr el cheapo, $12 a box at wallywold junk 9mm, and I know that is under powered and will shoot low. But I can't blame it all on smurfy ammo, the lean to the left was all me. This sucks.
Keeping in mind, my targets are 3x5 index cards, if I had a full 5x5 area, maybe there would have been more, but... still sucks. At least for me. But a meh hour at the range is better than an hour in the office or in traffic.

Very nice Kev. So, what are you planning on growing?
Salad sammiches round your place next year then? I'll bring the Space Raiders. Sounds amazing Kev :tu:Very nice Kev. So, what are you planning on growing?
This year, just some salad stuff like radishes, lettuce, etc. Things that are fast growing, and also squash as it's around now they should be planted.
Next year once I've got nutrients into the soil I plan on cabbages, carrots, onions, cauliflower, broccoli, sprouts, French beans, broad beans, runner beans, salad stuff as above, strawberries, and herbs. If there's room for any more I'll see what else I can grow.
I've got tomatoes and cucumbers growing in my greenhouse at the mo. I'm going to add chillis, peppers and garlic to that next year.

Wife, both kids, and I went for a hike today. Was the first time for both kids so we only did short hikes. In total we did 5.5 miles today. I felt good about that considering my daughter walked most of that and she is almost 3yrs. My son, who's 10months was in the carrier the whole time. He enjoyed it too.Aww man, I bet that was great, the last time us "and" the two kids did camping or hiking was like, 8-9yrs ago? Just with medical and other crap it's just nuts, heck here's a good one,,
It was a good hike even though it was 98* outside.
Cool pic Zman!

I just noticed my cherry tree is sick :-\ It's got a bacterial canker infection at one of the pruning sites, and I'm going to need to lop off pretty much the whole top of the tree to stop it spreading further. I'll need to get the chiminea going tonight, as the wood I cut off will need burning straight away, so the infection doesn't spread to my Mirabelle and Persimmon. It might kill the cherry altogether (it's already starting to spread within the tree itself - I wish I'd noticed it sooner), but at least I might save the others.
Fantastic pic Hiraethus :like:. The green bike looked to be a "beach cruiser"? Fabulous color whatever it is.
Also are those open roads lightly trafficked by autos? Lovely stretch or road and wonderful scenery.
Yup. That one was mine, and it is a beach cruiser. Even though I live nowhere near the ocean. Good bike tho!Fantastic pic Hiraethus :like:. The green bike looked to be a "beach cruiser"? Fabulous color whatever it is.

I picked wild red raspberries with my youngest and my cousin.
There were more than we could eat, and what is seen in the photo has already been replaced on the bushes by newly ripened fruit.
Not too exciting, but certainly delicious.

For some raincoats it is possible to re-apply the waterproof coating (this is much cheaper than a complete new raincoat).
Looks lovely Kev. :tu:
I'm lucky in that walking doesn't aggravate my back, in fact it's when I have the least pain (as opposed to sitting or standing for long periods).
I'm also convinced that most lower back pain isn't necessarily because of a 'bad back', rather that the problem is somewhere else (eg glutes not working properly, shortened hip flexors from sitting too much) and the poor old back gives out trying to compensate. So I'm doing lots of psoas stretches and glute exercises among other things.

Mines definitely my back. I broke L5 vertebra and crushed my spinal cord between L4 and L5. Sitting bolt upright with a pillow behind me is the best position for reducing pain to the minimum.
This year my back has been the best it has been for years. At the UK meet it was great all weekend, even after putting up and taking down tents.
Rode to my mum's yesterday - started in Bristol after work, across the Severn, over the Black Mountains (and the edge of the Brecon Beacons national park) into mid Wales. A lovely afternoon out, but was under a bit of pressure to get there before the kids went to bed so I couldn't hang around. 95 miles and 6500 feet of climbing in 7 1/2 hours.

Me and the Mrs went over and cleaned our neighbors gutters, doesn’t that count? Guys great, gotta be in his 80’s, we’ve told him if there’s anything he needs taken care of or help with just knock! Gotta support your elders :tu:

I rode my bike 130 miles in 9 1/4 hours on the 14th but was too busy hanging on to the wheel in front to take pics. :ahhh
Pics from a week or two back. Went to get pics of others and they got a couple sneaky pics of me.
Spent yesterday and today getting everything planted and transplanted into my raised beds.

That's awesome Kev! I'm getting to work on my garage today, building a shelf to get things up off the floor. It's only been 2 years since we moved here, I think it's time to get the garage organized...

A very wet walk up Schiehallion (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Schiehallion) yesterday morning. We got extremely wet, were blown around and couldn't see anything more than 10 yards away, but we still had fun. :D

Weather has been pretty cracking where I am, got out for a paddle today and for a change took some pictures - taken on a pretty basic phone which was inside a waterproof pouch so the quality isn't great :)

Here's a couple of pics of me back in my ski bumming day's early 1990's Colorado
These are really cool pics. Looks like a great job with super benefits. I knew a woman who worked for our local mountains for the same benefits. She would ski/snowboard all season long. Then in summer she'd come toward to ocean and work restaurants at night so she could surf all season long. She was a true adventure junkie.
Did some agility training with my two dogs - I like doing it but my dogs absolutely love it :)

Gareth, any chance of a pic of the inside of your kayak so i can see how it's constructed ?

Good work. :tu: The last time I was in that area we left from the Stavely end and encountered a runner at Duke Knob who was doing the same route you did. He collapsed in front of us whilst we were talking but we stuck with him and he came right... I worry about what could happen to a lightly equipped person in a more remote part of the track.

The weather played nice, temps held around 10c and the winds maxed around 20km in exposed areas so windchill was minimal.

Yesterday I trimmed the hedges, mowed the fallen pieces over along with a lot of plants, raked it all up, then helped the Mrs clean the weeds in the driveway, swept everything up and dumped it all in back, yet all in hot weather. Had to sit down and idk if I passed out?

The dumb thing, the whole week it was beautiful and cool, and sure enough we got to do it on a hot day.. didn’t mow the lawn or weedwack, still have another whole line of bush that need to be trimmed! But yesterday and today we didn’t do anything, I take that back we sprayed some of the outside of the house with peppermint water a few hrs ago..Yesterday I trimmed the hedges, mowed the fallen pieces over along with a lot of plants, raked it all up, then helped the Mrs clean the weeds in the driveway, swept everything up and dumped it all in back, yet all in hot weather. Thanks MMR. The pics are from an alpine plateau in the coast mountains of BC Canada, located about 150km north of Vancouver.
Are the deer in your pictures roaming wild, or are they on a farm/estate?

That really makes me want to visit Canada and go on a hiking trip. I used to live near Seattle and went hiking around mount rainier which was beautiful too, but not like those pictures you took
The pictures of the deer were taken in Farran woods, co. Cork, Ireland, sadly the deer live in a wild enclosure (you can see the chain linked fence in the background), as fascinating as it is to see them this close (wild deer are usually super shy), I don’t like to see animals live, and I am highly against it too

The road in the top picture looks narrow! how often do you see oncoming vehicles on those lanes?!
About 1 1/2 cars wide - pretty common in the UK. Tend not to see too much traffic on those kind of roads and it's normally moving pretty slowly so there's no real bother.

Big ride yesterday. 140 miles from Bristol out across the North Wessex Downs. Was only just above freezing when I set out at 6 am, never got above 5°C all day, strong cold northerly winds and it rained for the last 3 hours.
Didn't take the right clothing so was cold and wet for the second half of the ride, but did manage to eat and drink enough. No pics because it was too cold to take my gloves off, but the views were great, at least in the morning.
damn, I need to keep a closer eye on this thread. Awesome shots mate. :hatsoff:
Brutal. :salute:
That's a long ride! :salute:
I can only imagine how you feel
I changed a head light bulb. In the dark.Yeah if you can do it all by touch id say your pretty good at it! I was on my way home one day and not only did one light go out but both, not only was I behind a car on a back road, so that must have looked bad but about 10sec later a cop was coming from the opposite direction! Needless to say oh I got pulled over, worst part was it was my first time ever getting pulled over and it was a newbie! About 5min later another cop showed up, but that first one was going nuts, asking if he could search the car, if his dog could sniff it, even though he didn’t have one, the other “older” cop looked at me and says “it’s your first time getting pulled over huh?” All while I stood there shaking, I was only 18, so the guy dug into my hatchback, “who’s tools are these” (im a freaking plumber) “oh your in trouble, why do you have two license plates”? As he pulls down the hatch to see it matched, he didn’t find anything and then calmly says let’s see if we can get your lights to work pop the hood.. come to find out my ground was loose, so he says your going to have to find a way to make this work, I ran around to the back, took a file and made a raw spot and drilled a self taping screw right in, lights worked great! Guy didn’t even give me a warning, that wasn’t the worst part, when I got home I just wanted to pass out, and yet I get a phone call from the gf, now wife, WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN, WHY DIDNT YOU CALL ME!!
Probably not a good sign that I not only carry spare headlamp bulbs but also can do that by touch.
In the past three years I've replaced, in order based on my notes.
Driver low beam.
Passenger high beam
Driver high beam
Passenger low beam
Right licence plate.
Center tail light
Left turn signal
Left break light
Left license plate.
Right turn signal and break.
Left turn break (I missed a gasket or something the first time)
And now, the left driver's again.
Every single other light in the car is an LED.

Nah it wasn't bad! When you live in Michigan, you get used to it! :) Actually we have been lucky as that was from the snow fall we got the other day and the first amount over an inch or two in a long time! The News/Weather said it was about 6 1/2 inches that fell the other day! It was nice to be out and with the snow stuck on the trees, it was very cool and made for some great pics!

Is that you abseiling Mechy?Yes it is!
A couple days ago I was whinging in another thread about not getting out before the sun disappeared for the day.
So yesterday I got all my chores done early and then grabbed the camera to get yous some pics of where I bike.
Kids down on the fields rugby training. My destination for this ride is that gap in the trees up on the ridge.

Interesting seat angle... mine points down... perhaps the angle is the reason I get a sore arse. :dunno:

We went for a walk to one store, but they didn’t have what I was after, so we walked to another store then walked home, doesn’t sound like much especially only being a total of 2-1/4miles but for the Mrs and not using her walker, that’s a lot!Tell her I said congrats!
JR
Tell her I said congrats! She giggled with a little smile and said “thank you”
I have followed the situation a bit here and there and I fully realise that it's quite something for her nowadays.
You go mrs. MP!! :2tu:

GG, I don't know exactly what you mean by getting the demons out(anything to do with who let's the dogs out?), but this looks like a truck load of fun. (https://postimg.cc/K1SjBW8r) >:D
As we headed out as always I packed a fixed blade and my pepper spray. The pepper spray I keep quickly accessible and my fixed blade is on my hip or pack also quickly accessible. There is a moment when I ask myself if I am being overly cautious and after yesterdays attack I'll keep doing what I do.Would a big stick be a good option? I would be hoping to scare it off before it gets close enough to stab with a blade.
Looking good zoid! I really really want to hike around new Zeeland at some point in my life
[It's not failure if you learn something from it]
Went and climbed it on Sunday, a couple friendly Canadians kept me company.

Te Ara Pātaka, Banks Peninsula. Spent a few days up there with the kids.Is that walkway a fairly new concept? (I realise most of the tracks that make it up have been there for yonks.)

Great pics. My youngest and I walked the beach looking for sea glass. We get so engrossed with our talks and looking we always forget to take pictures. Guess thats a good thing. At 21 now I take advantage of any and every moment we spend since she so busy with work, school, sorority, and everything else a young girl has in her life.Very nice Aloha good for you and great to get some quality time together

Sounds just like 4 year old Arthur the Sheepdog
My youngest and I taking a seaside hike. It was a bit overcast and foggy but as it got a little later it cleared up. We saw an object in the brush then it ( raptor ) flew out and landed on the sign post to eat whatever it caught. My daughter snapped these pics as it flew just over our car and soared into the sky. Such a magnificent creature.Great pics :like:

You have been getting around a bit.
Any goblins this time?
To the beach I went.
I believe he is in California. I assumed he was in Hawaii once too. It's that deceptive username...
Still nice in the middle of Winter. :tu:That's the best thing about Aloha's neck of the woods: the weather is as near perfect as I've yet found. In wintertime, I'm lucky to have temperatures above freezing. Taking the trash outside is as outdoorsy as I'll get until about the middle of spring!
I'm not getting out much (it's too cold for that),

OUCH! Glad you're healed up :tu:Thanks, Not as gald as I am though!
