Title: SOSAK Knives are in!
Post by: Grant Lamontagne on September 26, 2007, 01:05:44 PM
There's still a few things to be done, but they should start shipping out to their new owners very soon!  As usual, Travis did a bang up job and the Wenger models this year look simply stunning!  Remember, unlike most years when the logo is printed on, this year the logo is carved into the rubber insert with a laser!  Since it's basically black on black it's hard to get a good picture, but you can see that it looks pretty darned sweet!

Congratulations on pulling off another great one this year Travis!  I can't wait to see how you top it next year!

Folks have been saying that for years! :P

It may happen eventually, but ALOX is limited in what you can do withing a certain price range, so we've avoided it so far.

I do have to say though that the tin it comes in is pretty darned sweet.  I have one for my Coast Guard knife and I was very impressed with it then.  So much so I contacted Wenger when we were setting this up initially and asked how we could ensure this box would come with the knives!  Wenger assured me it was their standard box, and boy was I happy- I knew folks would love this one!

I got a box like that with my Evo 63 and my clipper's and it is a pukka box :)

You could engrave the Alox or laser etch the blade, or if you really want to push the boat out anodise them :)

We could do lots of things with the annual SOSAK knives if we could get enough members willing to pony up BIG bucks to do it with!  We try to keep them at a decent price so that almost everyone can get one.

Which also rules out the XAVT.

You could just put the logo on a metal toolbox filled with tools.  It might be lighter and smaller than the XAVT. :)

Rumor has it that a certain shady individual that goes by the name of "Felinevet" will have a few extras for sale.... ;)
