Those swissflame/campflames are very nice indeed.

What makes the mini champ rare - I thought it was still available to buy?

Not since 2005. It is the XL model, not the current II.

Thanks for sharing the great pics. Nice score! On that first Vic shown, what is that odd looking tool for?

With the Minichamp XL, I'm assuming then it is another layer thicker than the current models? Made me want one though. I haven't seen one here.

Is it a hassle bringing knives from Europe? Or just put them in checked baggage and that's it?

Take care!

Joe

Hi Joe,

that odd looking tool is to cut cheese, just like that knife... http://www.edcsource.com/115655,auction_id,auction_details

to bring the knives back to Brazil, I just put them in a checked baggage and pray that everything arrives fine...so far I've been lucky!  :D

Well, the guy in the store didn't want to sell me those, because those usually does not work... I had to convince him that was just for a collection...

I won't test, since it does not make any difference for the collection, but I hope they do...

I got that knife in London, in the store close to Oxford Street...I found interesting that besides the wood hadles, it also has the bottle and can opener...

they had this one and also a Cheese knife with the bone handles, but that one was too expensive... :ahhh

that store is really good, once in London, you should not miss it!

That Hardwood scaled Cheese knife is a beauty. The only Cheese SAK without locking blade and with openers layer so far me thinks. In wood scales too. Very nice!

This cheese knife was a special commission of 500pcs for the Victorinox London store.
And is not listed on the official website.

The wood used is Bubinga.
http://www.wood-database.com/lumber-identification/hardwoods/bubinga/

I'm picking up a few in person this Sunday when I go to the store.

Love that wooden handle cheese knife!
I did email the store (Victorinox in New Bond St) but they only post to UK address. Is there any kind soul out there who would repost the parcel to Australia for me? (I can Paypal the funds)
I'd really like to add that knife to my collection.
Thanks
Ian
