I've enjoyed the black SAK thread very much, but I've never noticed a thread for all the classic red colored SAKs. So here it is :D Mods: if there already is a thread dedicated to this, please feel free to take the necessary action, but please go easy on me  Let's see some pics of those sweet red SAKs (Alox included as well)! :climber: :tool: :sak:
-
I will start with my favorite, and only, red SAK: my Syph custom Yeochamp;D

I was red-only for a while, and didn't quite understand why one would want anything else, but I've since grown out of that. Here is my current red SAK collection excluding stuff that I am selling, and including my most used/loved knives (SwissChamp and Cybertool 34).
-
Sweet collection of red goodness Brian, and thanks for the reply :salute: I'm beginning to think nobody loves the red anymore...which I know isn't true :)
-
I'm going to slightly derail this thread from the get go and say how much I love my translucent red Huntsman. 8)

I have to say I didn't think I would like it all that much, but pics don't really do the translucent scales enough justice.
-
I suppose I'll allow it Gareth ;) I would have included the translucent red as well had I thought of it. Thanks for including it :salute: I've never seen any in person, but I've seen pics here and they do look nice.
-
don't get me wrong, good old solid red is just fine by me too. :tu:

What model is that Gareth? I'm not sure I've noticed that one before, and the nailfile I think is what throws me off

It's a mod of mine. Basically a Sportsman with added saw. :)

It's a mod of mine. Basically a Sportsman with added saw. :)
Oh very cool man :tu: Is it shorter than 91mm? It looks like it to me, but that could just be the pic playing games with my eyes.

The sportsman is an 84mm so yes it is shorter
-
There has always been a "Red" thread. :pok: Its just alox specific. :B:

Thanks Nhoj :salute: I suppose I could have SAKWiki'd that, but I am at work, so limited chances for that type of thing ;)

Yay! Let's hear it for the overlooked standard!

:D Red is #1! Especially for alox.
A few random pics of red SAKs from my small 'collection' will follow over a few posts due to the limit of pic attachments per post.

No pics at the minute, but most of my pocket carried SAKs are plain red or translucent red.
Red might be the universally accepted colour for danger in most walks of life, but when it comes to using a pocket knife around non-knife people, red is the universal colour for "don't worry, it's safe" ;)
-
How about some translucent Wenger stuff. :D

Oh good one. I like that.
-
Translucent Cellidor looks gorgeous to me, as long as is solid through (like this one appears to be). Personally I cannot stand the latest model hollow scales especially when they show in all their empty splendor.
Still, red Alox is my most favorite by far :gimme:

Nice pics everyone :salute:
Marius, you have a considerable collection of red Alox. All very nice SAKs :salute: Red Alox is one thing I wish I had gotten ahold of, but now I don't have much need to get any other SAKs.
-
I have 3 that I think are pretty great; Ranger, Recruit, and Wenger Evo S10 ( love the locking blade on this bad boy )
-
Since red is the definitive 'Swiss Army' color, it shows up on every size and pattern.
-
@Marius your picture #058 3406 is pretty awesome. it looks like sharks swimming or some kind of wild dogs running. very cool looking :tu:

More good ones :salute: Keep 'em coming :D

Well the only real reason I've stopped (for the foreseeable future anyway ;)) is that I got my two customs done finally. As a result, I technically have no further need to buy anymore SAKs, other than to collect them. However, I'm not in the position to become a collector right now. I actually only have a total of 3 SAKs, the 2 customs and an Executive. I would consider getting a red Pioneer possibly, just to have a red one, but I don't see them available much. I probably am just not looking hard enough as I haven't looked for them but only once when I was hoping to get a red one and ended up getting a black one instead.

Is that collection along the lines of Chako's Leatherman collection? That is one massive collection :o

How about a few more slightly exotic red.

Thanks. Its a very solid collection, but there are a number of others here that probably equal it. Your own also seems pretty decent. Problem is I can't remember from one week to the next who showed what, only that there's a lot of great stuff I'd like to have.

Love that one too :tu: I believe I've seen it before as well, but I don't mind seeing it again. Beautiful scenery :D

Left side: Handyman, Tinker, Classic
Right side: Deluxe Tinker, Ruby Swisslite
Bottom: Rambler
As much as I like the Ruby scales, and I REALLY do, I still LOVE the classic red. Functional and iconic. :tu:

Great photos, Top Gear! :tu: Where were the German ones taken?

Nice ones Lynn :tu: I too love the ruby scales, as well as the traditional red. I'm not quite sure which I like better though

Great photos, Top Gear! :tu: Where were the German ones taken?
Those pics were taken in a small town (about 160 residents) called Beilstein, it's located next to the river Moselle, about 4 miles to the south-east of the city of Cochem. We planned a short stop there on our way to Cochem, but ended up spending more time there than in Cochem itself, because it's a very beautiful little town.
You can find more info about Beilstein here (http://www.beilstein-mosel.de/englisch/beilstein/index.html).

Thought I'd add my beat up but beloved Luxury Automobile to this thread
Once the Royal Mail pull their finger out and deliver my new knives  this will be off for repair

My first Old Cross Pioneer, just arrived. With a smaller friend... Had to sharpen the dings out of the awl, and the blade, and oil the heck out of it. Snaps nicely now, and shaves to boot! :D
