Day 1
:SAKnight: :SAKnight:
At the last moment, I decided to do this Challenge. I just completed two Challenges back to back. The best part of these is to do them along with you folks, so I do hope you'll join me, or at least follow along. To be honest, I was going to wait until a few other people were interested in joining me. But I ended up using my SAK just a few minutes ago, and I said to myself - "Self! there's no time like the present" So here we are.
I decided to do this one because ... well... I've pretty well convinced myself that I need scissors on my SAK in the last two months. And also, I need something pocketable So will the Pioneer X fill those requirements?
Let's wait and see! :D
For today's usage: I was warming up a microwavable pre-cooked packet of rice. 2/3 of the way into the time I saw the packet swelling up like a balloon and realized I had forgotten to tear a ventilation opening into the packet as the instructions say :ahhh
I stopped the timer and reached in with my Pioneer X scissors extended at the ready. Without touching the packet I snipped an opening in it and the steam escaped, narrowly averting a mishap in the kitchen. :dwts:
I turned the timer back on, and completed preparing my dinner.
Day 1
SAK scissors 1, Eminent disaster 0
I am in, so you got company
I always felt like the PX was too heavy with only one added tool compared to the Pioneer, but we‘ll see.
Here is the PX i will be carrying mostly. I might switch to my blue one every once in a while.

Day 1
A late package arrived. Thank you UPS driver :salute:
Awl opened it, Blade prepared it for recycling and the scissors assisted taking off the tags of my new back pack. One occasion, three tools used. Not bad :D

Used my X to open up one of my favourite types of packages today...
I see you pulled the trigger after all EB! I'll follow along if I may! Sadly I don't own a PX. You have all the cool toys. Someday I will! :hatsoff:
Good luck with this challenge- I would join but I’m on the MTO unleashed! challenge, where I’m sure a PX will feature! :tu:
I was hemming and hawing, I admit. But post #1 is a true story, and it compelled me to go ahead with the challenge. A quick snip to relieve pressure on the impending ... what we call in the business... Boiling Liquid Expanding Vapor Explosion ...And I says to myself, Self! (and I knew it was me 'cause I recognized my voice and I was wearing my underwear) we can save the day and dinner!
The SAK saved the day. :D
And I says to myself, Self! (and I knew it was me 'cause I recognized my voice and I was wearing my underwear) we can save the day and dinner!
I should own a PX. That is the first Alox I ordered but I canceled in favor of the Electrician which I gifted because I wanted the can opener so I bought the Soldier then doubled up with an SI incase I lost it.
Day 2
I'm so glad to have company!!
thank you all for following along and joining if you can.
Today's use - awl to open a box of foodstuffs in the kitchen. maybe a snack of cheese and crackers later.
Has anyone used their engraving plate for its intended purpose?
This was a major reason why I decided to do the challenge at this time. The PioneerX is remarkably heavy for the addition of just one layer. I'm hoping to get used to the extra weight. I've noticed that if I clip it to the inner edge of my pocket, rather than the outer, it becomes less noticeable Though I wonder if it will stay put that way.
Whenever I read what you write I feel like I'm talking to myself. It's very strange.
Or maybe you are actually me. Are you sure that's your underwear?

I am wearing my Superman undies today, so it sure as hell ain‘t mine
(Not even sure they make Superman undies for adults)
Sir Vic.(https://media0.giphy.com/media/r3ll5ptzcxtPq/giphy.gif)
Jokes aside. Please DO NOT try to verify your question with the internet. you will regret it dearly.
My blue one has the DLT engraving on it - which I hate. The red one has a small shield logo, which i actually like.
quick tip though - just number the day of the challenge at the top of your post, Day1, Day2. etc etc
Ok thanks, I'll do that from now on.
Love that blue one SirVicalot! I didn't know that about the coloured Alox. I do have a red old cross pioneer with no markings, but it also doesn't have an engraving plate, so maybe it's just with the newer ones?
I'll post one tomorrow when the light's better! It's got the +PAT on the can opener, those ended early 70's, is that right?
Nice! Pizza and SAK! :DCheers SVL  and to paraphrase an oft' used saying "you don't have to be mad to be a member here, but it helps" :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh
Nobody here thinks you are crazy. Don‘t worry, my wife thinks I am nuts too
Here are some photos of the old pioneer. Thanks for the interest! The blade is a little short, it's clearly been sharpened.Nice!
Also, about the engraving plate - I was surfing through fleabay last night and one guy has quite a few coloured pioneers and farmers with nothing on the plate. There were red, green, and blue off the top of my head. There was a gold one but it was Bugnard labelled.
Day 3
Thanks everyone! That’s a good looking pizza Surge! Waiting for my wife to get home now I’m really hungry! You’ll have to post some photos of that Mauser :)
My PX didn’t have much work today so far, just opened up a kids toy from Grandma
I missed yesterdays one as I was a bit busy getting ready for my early shift today (up at 4am :ahhh ) The PX helped with a pizza.
Today it helped unwrap my new (to me) Mauser purchased on here from maverick88 :hatsoff: as a replacement for an identical one lost many, many moons (decades) ago ::)
So, here are the two pics :tu:
Day 3
Oops! You’ll have me straightened around soon! I thought I’d seen a challenge post where someone just wrote in, sorry.
Here’s the PX with the kids toy it liberated from their packaging
Day 3It’s a coronavirus! Kill it!!!!

Lol! I'm pretty difficult to offend! You're right, it does look like a giant coronavirus. Luckily I was paying attention to your president, I shined a bright light on it and now it's dead. Now where did I put my disinfectant cocktail?Hopefully near the mighty PX!

:cheers:Oh I understand completely! I laughed my butt of once it hit me! (just happened to take several hours)
Normally I wouldn’t post anything even remotely political (especially as the new guy), but I really tried to not post that and couldn’t do it :)

Fun fact - it's called Coronavirus because it looks like the virus is wearing a crown... to some very sleep-deprived scientist. Corona - Crown
Though it could also mean garland or wreath, and I could see that ... sort of...
That’s interesting! I can’t believe I didn’t know that already considering how much Coronavirus news I’ve been watching the last 3 months! I just learned last week what Covid 19 means:
CoronaVirusInfectious Disease - 2019
Forgive my ignorance ElevenBlade, what’s that attached to your knife?
EB has a pocket clip attached to the key ring attachment. It allows the knife to dangle inside your pocket. I tried one for a while but it broke! (Made in China, might have been some owner/operator abuse involved.)
Nice going, guys! :tu:
Forgive my ignorance ElevenBlade, what’s that attached to your knife?
Here are a couple of bonus pics. They’re a bit more adult this time!

Day 4
(https://www.justbenphotography.com/img/s/v-10/p3906197811-4.jpg)
PX came along walking the dogs
(https://www.justbenphotography.com/img/s/v-10/p3906197899-4.jpg)
Did some whittling today. My first project ever :ahhh Did not use the PX for it, but I think I will get a Hiker to supplement my dedicated whittling knives. Could have used a saw while doing that sitting on the porch.
The whittling knives were a gift, so I have to figure them out first. There are like 15 different ones
The finished project. It is a spreader for peanut butter, jelly, and the like. I think it turned out ok.
First use of the day for the PX: Installing new ceiling fixtures. The Spirit had to help out because I needed pliers as well.
I'm really enjoying seeing the pics! Nice job on the spreader SirVic! I see your whittling book - can anyone recommend any books about the history of the SAK? I think I've seen some in the background of some pics here.
Ok, so P7 is like a style? And Vic makes a branded one, correct?
Though its only one layer thicker than a Pioneer, I find it much more bulky, yet not big enough to hold steady in the pocket. So I attached a P-7 clip to the keyring and I hook it inside my pocket. It makes it much less noticeable in the pocket, and therefore easier to carry. It does take a few seconds longer to retrieve from my pocket when it's clipped on - but the cost-benefit ratio is in favor of using it... in my estimation.
:drink:
Wonderful pictures as always Sir Vic :cheers:Thanks! It also helps that it rides in a leather slippy. No other tools or keys scratching it.
That bright red seems to be holding up well.
ok thanks! I'll take a look. I knew I'd seen that Vic clip, that's what I was thinking of. Do people not like those as much or are they just more $$?
Edit: I just looked at the Vic clip, I see it's $3 CAD, so I guess it's not price. Looks like it attaches to a belt.
It does. Works on sweat pants or workout shorts too though. Mine came with two chains: A shorter one and a larger one that is detachable. I love it! I use it to carry the Spirit and Swisstool or any heavier SAK (Swisschamp for example) unless I use my flexible belt sheath.
The short chain is just long enough that it suspends the tool in the front pockets of most of my pants. Even the Swisstool feels so weightless, that I sometimes forget it‘s there :tu:
thanks for the info! I'll have to try some out. I don't mind it just in my pocket - but I can see it being one of those luxuries that you quickly get used to and wonder how you did without it. Kind of like heated seats or scissors in your Pioneer!
Thanks for the quick review. I had opted against it without knowing that much about it. It just seemed to be a two-handed operation, and I assumed the chain length would restrict where you can attach it to your belt. I didnt know it can attach to the waistband itself, and I'm not sure that I knew it came with two chains.
DAY 5
Following on from yesterdays pic' (posted today)
The PX accompanied me on a Covid related welfare Op' (around south London) along with the Rescue Tool and various other non SAK related kit
Neither was needed thankfully but, better to have it and not need it etc... ;)
Day 5
Did some package opening duty, some pizza opening, and best of all....

Day 4
Today so far I did some proctology on this toy cupcake and extracted a bead from its behind. And for anyone sensing a theme here - yes I have been at home with my two young daughters since early March! It’s a beautiful day here today so I’m planning to open up a nice cold one soon.

Mmmm...coffeeExcellent uses Tet (especially the cap lifting option :drink: ) :like:
Nice one SVL! I got out of mulching duty yesterday by weed whacking/grass cutting. Must admit I enjoyed watching my wife do it as I drove around on my lawnmower.
Day 6
Did some prying to get the old lock out, used the awl to ream out some extra space to accommodate the new dead bolt and just for fun screwed in a few Phillips screws with the can opener. Headed to my mother-in-laws by the lake so I’m planning to do so cap lifting later!
Bit of a slow day here (weather rubbish ::) )Congratulations on the belt mod Surge!
However, the PX helped to make another hole in the work trouser belt (going in the right direction for once  )
Have a good evening, or morning/afternoon (delete as appropriate :D ) and stay safe all :salute:
Congratulations on the belt mod Surge! Thanks BClogic :tu:

Great job Surge! Especially going in the right direction! I’m the guy who didn’t know what to use an awl for until I found this forum! The one time I’d ever used it before was on a belt, but that time it was going the wrong way! I must say I’m finding the pioneer awl much more functional than the backscale kind.
:cheers:Cheers to you too EB  :salute:

Awesome pics and nice job!
Day 6That red is a stunner! Do think there is a noticeable difference between the LE red and classic red scaled SAKs?
Boring day with no use :dunno:

DAY 7
Again, a bit of a slow day :dunno: However, the PX opened a very fine bottle of european beer :drink:
It was gifted to me at Xmas from a good friend in Italy and I didn't have an occasion worthy of it, until today.
Cheers all...
Day 7
Made bourbon pork chops. Finished eating before I remembered to take a picture.
Here are the spoils.

Day 7Excellent use of the scissors SVL in removing the label (or razor wire) I do the same to all T-Shirts, Shirts, Jumpers (Sweaters across the pond) I hate them
Scissors took the tags off a T-Shirt

Day 7Sounds delicious EB and judging by the evidence they were...
Made bourbon pork chops. Finished eating before I remembered to take a picture.

Must’ve been good - not many scraps left!Nice shots :like: I see it made a "Bee - Line" straight for the SAK.
Looks like a nice day there for a hike SVL. It’s beautiful here today, I was out for a bike ride today.
Day 7
Not much action for the SAK today, just opened up a package of cheese. I’d just finished taking a beauty shot on the rocks when this bumblebee flew in and decided he wanted to be in the photo.
 What was the occasion worth celebrating today Surge? Something even more exciting than taking your pants in a notch? Some friends visited for a "socially distanced" gathering. Many beers sacrificed their lives during the course of the afternoon :salute: :drink:
Excellent use of the scissors SVL in removing the label (or razor wire) I do the same to all T-Shirts, Shirts, Jumpers (Sweaters across the pond) I hate them
It is weird. Sometimes they don’t bother me at all, so I wear the item for years. Then comes a day when it drives me crazy and I have to remove it.
Haha! I thought that was just me. I did that recently and thought about how strange that was.
Day 8
I'm not much of a morning person I'm afraid. Any time I do wake up strangely early I love it. As such I don't usually have much tool usage in the morning, but when something is keeping me from my coffee it gets immediately cut open!
Day 8I remember my brother and I were up in the BWCA. Our first trip, our first portage which was 3.1 miles up and down single person path with hidden rocks. We packed heavy too, being so young and virile. BIG MISTAKE! But our dinner that night was vege-chili hiker pack style, the stuff from REI, I remember to this day feeling when the energy hit me. It was like a cold shower after a hot day. It was a great night. Thanks for the memory EB.
No usage yet, staged picture.
I have a bunch of these and felt like something a little different today.
They definitely taste better on a backpacking trip

Looks like you live in a very nice area! Everything is so lush green! :like:
DAY 8
Today the PX was assisting with the replacement of a plug but I was called away on urgent business (food) just before I started and left my phone downstairs for the "after shot"
Moreover, as Mrs Surge required the plug on her hairdryer replacing "pronto" I decided that discretion was the better part of valour and I bravely ran away :ahhh
Great job there! Nice to be able to use your SAK to help the Mrs. out. We were in the car yesterday and mine needed a knife for something. Is it wrong how I felt when she said "wow, that's a sharp knife!"?No. Not at all.
No. Not at all. Thanks Tet and :iagree: Furthermore, If that's what it means to be wrong, I don't want to be right :2tu:

DAY 9That’s cool that you get work supplies Surge, Surge!
It was a bit of another slow one today as I had to go to work and I can't take the PX there but can take the Surge (work issued ::) )
However, I was sent out to cut some herbs in the garden once home. I think it's Greek basil but I'm not sure. I just went where pointed :dunno:
That’s cool that you get work supplies Surge, Surge!Cheers BCL  It was a trial and then they opted for Gerbers as they're cheaper.
Nice snap too!

Now they've opted for an even cheaper Gerber (and the newbies are lucky if they get one of those) Most just get a lock-knife ::)

Day 9Food for sure, recently opening cans. Most times any excuse I can! :salute:
Today ... I tore open a plastic bag like a normal person. but there was a rat-tail of a piece of plastic that kept getting in the way as I was trying to empty the bag out... So of course I just clipped that cord of plastic off, like any normal SAK fan.
Do you know the only problem with what I consider the perfect food? You don't really need a knife to eat it.
What do you use your knife on that's not really necessary... just for the fun factor?

Thanks Tet and :iagree: Furthermore, If that's what it means to be wrong, I don't want to be right :2tu:well put!

Yep - I intentionally pick canned goods without the tab on the top... even if they cost a little more than their pull-tab equipped counterparts... lately it's been hash and black olives. :facepalm:I used my Soldier on a can of hash last Sunday morning, yummy
I also go out of my way to use the cap lifter to open bottles that need one. It's my go to for that too!
well put!
I used the can opener last week just for fun - first time I've done it in years. I also go out of my way to use the cap lifter to open bottles that need one.
Day 9
I used the cap lifter to pry out a nail that was so far in I couldn't get it with the hammer. I'm building a little tree fort/platform for my girls near our house. I didn't get a photo but I did get one of my reward for all of that hard work....
Heres a little challenge completion secret - that can of tuna can do double duty. It can become dinner when you don't feel like making anything.... and it can help you come up with a daily use and picture if you don't want to be as boring as I am.What a Host! giving away secrets for your own challenge!!!!
That said, I haven't twisted off a twist-off bottle cap.... ever?

Day 9I still haven't had time to clean the bakkie since the mud runs
Cleaned the cars today (as you can see it was needed ) and i used the bottle opener to loosen tried mud so i could vacuum it. After that I gave it a good clean. Guess I should have taken a picture afterwards to show the difference

Nice job SVL! I love the larger bottle opener on the pioneers. I was pleasantly surprised to find out how much difference those extra 2 mm makes! (sounds like there's a joke in there but I'm not clever enough to make it right now :D)
They're very excited! I'm not super handy but I've been learning over time and I know how to use youtube! My 7 yr old is a little more adventurous, so I'm making a higher level for her and a lower level for the 5 yr. old. I got the lower level framed in today, just have to put the ladder on and the deck boards. Then some more hours figuring out how to do the rest! I'll try to get a pic with my SAK to show off a bit
:iagree: I really like the stronger tools on Alox. Going back to a 91mm always feels like handling a toy

It's even worse when you go to an 84mm.... I like the size of the blades, especially the smaller one. The openers seem a little unsettling - though I'm sure they work just fine. (TBH I have never used them for anything other than drivers):iagree: :tu:
Now one month next year we'll all do a 111mm challenge. Then you'll really see what a Vic screwdriver can do. :mn:

Mind you, my own one is pretty well used so, it's an option :dunno:
Day 10oh that looks delicious, nice PX SVL!
Had to switch to the Spirit this morning because I needed a metal saw. I tried to unscrew these carabiners first, but they were rusted and busted, so no way. I cut the first one with the metal saw of the Spirit, and it worked great. Did the second one with a dedicated metal saw for comparison. Of course the later was faster, but it has also 6 times the cutting length of the Spirit’s saw.
I was still impressed with the Spirit’s performance :tu:

Later I used the PX to open some ingredients for pizza. All fresh and home made

Today I was asked (directed :pok: ) to use the PX to cut some garden twine used to secure a wayward Jasmine plant, planted by Mrs Surge.
I couldn't take an action shot due to running out of suitable appendages (with opposable thumbs that is  )
So here's one of the PX hanging about afterwards instead
Day 10That's coming along well Tet :like: That's one hell of a garden :tu:
No moments today of forgetting it was time to use screws instead of the nails I had been using, so I didn't have to pry anything out! I'm getting a bit redundant I'm afraid, so far today just used the sak to open a beer. I have had twice as many beers in the last 2 weeks as I had all year up to that point (probably an underestimation). I hate that that just sounded like my mother! Good thing this is a Pioneer X challenge and not a Camo one, my SAK may not have been visible! I thought I was going to be putting the floor on today, but last night I realized I really should think more about the railing. Tomorrow!
:like: all your flowers and greenery. It is a pain in the b... to grow anything here. Doesn’t help when you don’t have a green thumb ::)Cheers SVL  although I can't take credit for the garden (that's down to Mrs Surge) I'm just the skivvy ::)
Day 10Tasty looking pizza SVL  and love the bonus shot :tu:

Day 11Definition of oxymoron: reasonably sized rations of bacon.
What I did today, and opted not to show you, was use my SAK scissors to open three big packs of bacon that I purchased in bulk. Then I divided them up into reasonably sized rations and froze them for use over the next several months.
Here's a picture of my morning pick-me-up instead
mmmmm.........bacon

Yeah ... I thought about that statement, It certainly was a fools errand... repacking all that was a waste of time. I'll have this finished off in a week.On the bright side you still have plenty of bacon frozen and ready to go

I am definitely not a !!!!!!BACON HAS TO BE ON EVERYTHING TO MAKE IT GOOD!!!!!! person.

DAY 11
I was a bit busy yesterday (had to work at short notice) & didn't get to post my shots of the PX in action ::)
I must say that compared to some of the uses you guys have been posting mine are a little tame :-[
However, here's the PX liberating the "official" Vic' red paracord lanyard from it's packet for the Rescue Tool :D
Great uses guys!
Day 12
I used the blade today to trim a board on the treehouse I couldn't get at with the circular saw or even the jigsaw.
I also stopped by my mother's today to do a few jobs for her, including putting in a new smoke alarm. Whoever installed the last one was thoughtful enough to use one Phillips and one slot screw so I was able to use both tools!

Day 12
Working on the computer most of the day, so no use :(
It came along this morning walking the dogs of course.
Day 13
Quick lunch break but the SAK has done some good work already. It was punching above its weight class - when that blue farmer X comes on the market I would’ve used the saw for what I did, but even so the blade did a good job. I’m attaching the railing boards to the trees in my treehouse, and a number of places the bark wasn’t flat enough so I did some trimming.
Day 13I like how quickly this became "your" treehouse

I would say that compared to our uses, your's are a bit more .... helpful :hatsoff: :hatsoff:You should speak to Mrs Surge, who would wholeheartedly disagree with you ::) (but cheers anyway  )

 Glad that you get maximal use out of the Pioneer X today.:iagree: :like: It just goes to show the adaptabilty of the PX and your foresight for carrying it :salute: :tu:

Ok. So today I was doing another Search & Rescue (Covid) thing blah, blah etc.
Although the PX came with me I deemed it unwise to take it out for photo opportunities, of which there were many along the Thames such as; HMS Belfast, Tower of London, The Shard and the Walkie Talkie building (Google it) to name but a few :tu:
It was a beautiful sunny day here in "ol' Landaan taan"(you need to read that with a proper "Dick Van Dyke" - "Mary Poppins" accent) but, with various protest groups out and about today (making ar*es of themselves ::) ) it didn't seem prudent to produce a blade :ahhh
So, here's a couple of shots of the "pre - op" and "post - op" uses (sounds painful doesn't it  ) whilst safe at home :D
Stay safe all :salute:

:salute: :salute:Never a silly question, ever! We get asked this alot because most people think about Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue et-al and don't often see a need with urban areas :dunno:
If I may ask a silly question... What does urban search and rescue do over yonder that the usual ambulance service doesn't do?
Never a silly question, ever! We get asked this alot because most people think about Mountain Rescue, Cave Rescue et-al and don't often see a need with urban areas :dunno:A DOG SEARCHING TEAM!!! that's awesome!
The fact is London is a vast sprawl of very open spaces (think country parks which are quite large, for the UK anyway ::) ) with smaller towns interspersed between them and people do go missing, frequently.
Essentially, we are part of a National Organisation called "Lowland Rescue"
I've attached a link to this so as not to waffle on (any more than usual anyway  ) and hopefully it will help you fall asleep at a time of your choosing

Day 13
Lockdown got to me and I got bored - I stopped by the local convenience store and some snacks that 10 year old me would buy, and then open with my SAK.
Of course, the Pioneer X accompanied me for the trip
So far, the scissors really are pulling their added weight. In comparison to the Solider that I was carrying last month, this month, the SAK does get out of the pocket more frequently.
Day 13
Finally back to the mountains!! :woohoo:

I like how quickly this became "your" treehouse  :cheers: The PX got some good use today, after lunch I did some more tree-trimming. I did have to use the jigsaw a couple of times, I ran into a couple of branch stumps (is there a name for those?) that were too thick to cut through. Don't worry tree lovers, I didn't cut down any functioning branches. They were all down low where they don't get any sunlight so they didn't have any needles on them. Afterwards I used it to open a cold one. I would've used it to open the pizza I made but it still had sap on it and I didn't think Mrs. Tet would approve.

A bonus pic, of the finished lower level, the SAK is pretty small. For some reason I said I’d make an upper level, but I need to take a break for awhile!Looking good!
Thanks mate! I'm happy with it, especially since I don't know what I'm doing! Although I'm wishing now I hadn't cheaped out and got the pressure treated 2x4's and 2x6's to match the brown.Eh, act like you know what you're doing until you do!

I made another bourbon-glazed pork chop today and this time I remembered to take a picture.
I also prepared a tuna casserole for later. The can opener got some use.
Food of the Gods Tet, food of the Gods  :tu:
I saw this a bit earlier when I just checked in. I can't stop thinking about "The Jolly Hog".

I hadn't thought of regional differences in flavor. I just know that years ago it was one of my favorites, and I have had excellent hog outside the US. I had chalked it up to the skill level of the chef.... most recently the lack thereof in the chef I saw in the mirror this morning. :dwts:I reread my comment and became a little nervous, I thought it could come off offensive maybe(?). That's not what I'm going after. But I do love food and will try anything at least once. I think having pork raised in another country would be fun to eat. I don't get out of the midwest much
And just when I thought I was finished, I needed to get into a strangely well sealed new bottle of hot sauce.

The outrider's is smaller than Alox.On my Outrider, too. The new liner lock Outriders have the beef monster bottle opener like the GAK, though.
I see ! Yes my Outrider is the old slide lock kind. Are all 111 mm with the slide lock like that?Yes, unless there are exceptions I don't know about.

Some far more exciting package duty today! An 111 mm GAK and my youngest daughter's BYSAK (and a little bonus pin (the Swiss flag) that I didn't know was coming). I just need a '12 and I'll have the whole family now.
The only other 111mm I have is an outrider, so I was shocked to see the size of the bottle opener! The outrider's is smaller than Alox. That serrated blade is a monster as well!

Yesterday I collected some Glo Zips (from a friend) to whom I have to have much of my stuff delivered, due to my own delivery issues (see previous posts/whinges/moans & rants  )
I was pointed in the direction of this company ( https://www.polymathproducts.co.uk/ ) by GearedForwards :hatsoff: (who'd ordered some different things)
I had ordered 10 of them but, as payment, offered my mate a couple to use as seen fit and, whilst I can't report on their effectiveness, I am assured that they do exactly what they say on the tin (liberties taken with an old UK advert for Ronseal, for those of a certain age  )
This post will also appear (shamelessly) in the "what did you just get" thread as....well, I did just get them  :D
I think your Pioneer X needs a glowing zipper pull on the keyring. :pok:Sir. Yes Sir :salute: :ahhh :ahhh :ahhh

Snipping off the tags of my new summer hat from the army surplus. I asked my girls if they liked it, the 5 year old (she of the '15 BYSAK I got yesterday 8)) told me I looked "weird" in it :D

I was out and about yesterday so couldn't post (although this is a shot of a post  )
However, here's a shot of the PX Awl assisting by making a hole for a "sky-hook"
I was helping out a friend with putting up same garden lights and they couldn't find a bradawl and their drill wasn't charged (step up the PX :2tu: )

Beautiful pic as usual SVL! What kind of camera do you have? I'm only using my phone these days...
Thanks!
Cool! I don't think I've seen red camo like that before. I've looked at a bunch of shops - no time to check it now but I think that one doesn't ship outside of the EU? Really like the Bavarian Alox
Nice work, that awl is awlsome! :like:Cheers SVL  :hatsoff:
Day 17Excellent shot, as usual SVL and I do like the Red
Used the blade to cut some padding.

I would buy the digi - red camo if it was the Pro M (come on Vic' :pok: )
I'm guessing its one of those European knife law things - with the OHO blade.I know that on mainland europe a number of countries don't like the OHO but, in the UK (where we have some VERY restrictive laws) OHO isn't one of them :D
DAY 18
Good evening all (22:40 here)
I was at work today and couldn't play with the PX ::) so, here's a snap of it taking a nap in one of the magnolias (don't tell Mrs Surge  )
Hopefully "normal service" (whatever that is these days :dunno: ) will resume tomorrow
I know that on mainland europe a number of countries don't like the OHO but, in the UK (where we have some VERY restrictive laws) OHO isn't one of them :D
The issue is mainly around blade length (must be under 3" or 7.62cm for a folder) and, regardless of length, whether or not it locks. Even then it's not illegal in-itself, you just need "lawful authority" or "reasonable excuse" ::)
The above is usually decided on the spot by the Police Officer :police: and then ultimately (if you failed, the two lawful defences, along with the all imortant "attitude test") the courts.
So, as it's a locking knife, I'd need lawful authority/reasonable excuse anyway and the OHO element is rather moot :dunno:
Also, Vic' sell a Pro M here in the UK but only in silver
Here in the states it's even more of a mess. Laws can vary by municipality. In a typical afternoon, I can go through three different jurisdictions with three different laws.
I had no idea the knife laws down there were like that. Considering your 2nd amendment and how everyone gets riled up if it's suggested they don't really need to have a machine gun, I figured knives would be no problem!
It makes no sense here. The only weapon that is subject to the 2nd amendment is firearms. Anything from knives to crossbows to brass knuckles is on its own and not part of 2A. So each municipality can make its own knife laws. In some parts of the US you can carry a 2 foot long Cold Steel folder, and in some parts, you'll be arrested for anything that can be opened with a flick of the wrist regardless of size.
Not to get too far off topic, but it's an aspect of systemic racism - statistically, the latter group has been about 80% minorities, a great many of whom work in restaurants and carry a folder to quickly open boxes and packages (and resist the impulse to use the 8-inch professional chef knife that's close at hand to do that task).
Fun fact - the Victorinox One Handed Nomad is also called the "Side Chef" on some packages. On the back of the cardboard, it says, (and I quote with ellipses for brevity) "Avoid damaging your most valuable food preparation knives... enable you to cut open boxes... plastic bags...Save your Cutlery for the food!"
Day 18
Used the awl to open some zip ties. I had placed them in the wrong location, and didn't wanna cut them after they were just on for a minute. Awl worked like a charm :tu:

I suppose with the added PX that makes it a "Steel Magnolia" :pok:

Long story short I needed one for the summer and thought I'd try a decent one this time. Then I went on the flashlight forum, and decided I needed to try out a few brands/types to see what I like. (Like I needed a gold pruner, and a black pioneer and a BYSAK, and a.....) I think I have a problem.
Day 19Brilliant pic' EB :tu:
See if you can spot this one.
Saw it. But can you take that one up to 11..?
Day 19
So, a bit of a slow day, setting up the work laptop :crash:
However, the PX assisted with opening some comfortable "face coverings" (not "face masks")
These are mostly needed now, for use on public transport* here in the UK and Mrs Surge uses the tube to get to work (when not WFH)
*Almost completely un-enforceable and pointless but, has to be done :dunno:
:D No, sadly it only goes up to 10
So 10 ist the new 11?
Lichens, I think.
DAY 20
Another slow day in the Surge residence ::)
However, the scissors on the PX stepped up to trim some stray paracord ends from my new TBL bracelet :tu:
Day 20
Busy day for the Pioneer X today.
Used the blade and the awl to break down a lot of cardboard boxes for recycling. Then I stacked the flat panels of cardboard and put them inside a larger flat box that I kept intact. Then I popped a couple of holes in the box so I could keep the whole thing together with bungee cords for transport to the recycling drop-off. After that, I used the bottle opener to aid in recovery from all the hard work.
This might be my first legit action shot in the last 2 months... I didn't forget!
How did it perform, you ask? This might be one of the tasks where I prefer a locking blade (or maybe I really should be using a box cutter). One of the boxes was corrugated cardboard, and about 8 feet in length. I've been neglecting to break this one down for some time, since I knew it was a tough one). Any time I cut down, and "run out of blade", and need to pull back and readjust - I run the risk of pulling the blade closed and chopping my index finger clear off my hand. I got the job done, but I did need to be extra careful.
My workplace actually prohibited these particular types of face coverings with the exhalation valve, in favor of the plain cloth ones (as of Friday, yesterday). It turns out that the plastic piece on the mask is an 'unfiltered' exhalation valve. So asymptomatic carriers are able to spread their unfiltered breath out of the mask and continue to spread contagion. We know that the benefit of the masks is to decrease the contagion coming from people who have it (less so to protect the wearer - as shown in the attached graphic)
The valve is there to make it easier to breathe out.
I knew that this plastic nubbin was an exhalation valve - what I didn't realize was that it takes several forms and is on several industrial masks as well. (like the one I was about to get :( )
Judging by the number of people who are out and about today, we can use all the help we can get.
Everyone stay safe.... it's getting warm and sunny out there. :climber:
Great use today EB!Thanking you Tet :hatsoff:
Love that glow in the dark fob Surge!
Day 20:like: Seems like the best possible use for the PX :drink:
Absolutely perfect day to be at the lake here! No clouds in the sky and 31 degrees (that’s about 88 for our friends south of the border :) )
No work today, just popped the top off a few cold ones. 8)

I got them from Polymath Products (see link below) They work really well emitting a soft glow not for lighting, just for kit marking etc. :tu:
I was put on to Polymath by GearedForwards :hatsoff: who has some of their Atomlights

Great photos as usual SVL!
Nice effects EB
I had a couple of bonus uses today, unfortunately no pics. Opened a bottle for me, but the best one was my 5 year old. She's used to seeing me with my knives, but when I pulled the scissors out to cut some tags off of some new clothes grandma brought over she got really excited. She said with big eyes "I didn't know it had scissors!!!". And then proceeded to cut stuff for 5 minutes. :)
Day 22
Today I tried my hand at making fish cakes, inspired by the Gordon Ramsay recipe.
They turned out delicious, although not pretty.
The can opener was put through its paces.

Day 22Nice pic' Tet :like:
Gratuitous photo of Mrs. Tet’s peony bush. And I’m putting the new bell on my daughter’s bike. I’d never used the can opener tip on a Phillips until I found this forum. Actually I didn’t know that was even a thing!
Thanks to all!
I also have a pair of their Omnitorches, wonderful little gadgets that add to the MacGuyver feel I try to embrace where possible :salute:Where there's a will, there's a way
I thought I'd just be stalking this thread since I don't have one of these guys yet (just a normal Pioneer sadly!) and lo and behold I snuck in >.>
I had internet problems last night (mysteriously gone today :dunno: ) so couldn't upload the pic' for Day 22 ::)Nice use and a good photo too!
None-the-less, here's the PX slicing some tomatoes that Mrs Surge required with her steak. It did a pretty good job :tu:

I already have too many saws on my tools that I never have a reason to use
The PX might happen at some point this year though now my enjoyment of SAKs have been rekindled by you money hating folks
Day 23
Well, thanks to this challenge I've found another rabbit hole! After seeing EB's P7 clip and the subsequent discussion I had to check out TEC accessories, and figured I neededto try a clip out for myself. While I was there I found a couple of other things that I can't possibly imagine how I survived without them and neededthem too - a centipede, and a picopen. Apparently I've got too much time on my hands being home with the covid..... At first I was telling myself that I was just spending the money I was saving by not driving every day! Now I'm going to have to check out Surge's website with the blingy fobs. My only hope will be if they won't ship out of the UK
If I hadto swap the scissors for one thing, it would be the saw. But if you were asking me if I would rather have a Farmer or a PX and could only have one it would be the PX. Although I have noticed that I've been surprised I haven't used the scissors as much as I imagined I would. Scissors have always felt to me like they're indispensable. Maybe I'm just at home, who knows? I must say I am very excited about the Farmer X, since I do have use for both and I'll be happy to have them all together. I only have one SAK with pliers and I've always felt they were a bit rinky-dinky. I have a Leatherman wave with me when I might be needing pliers though. Not much of a file user.

Day 24
Opened a packet of gummy bears. :tu:
You're supposed to use your Pioneer X to open the top of your Kingfisher beer with that meal.
We used to have an Indian restaurant in town that served Kingfisher, thanks for the memories! I don’t think there’s anywhere around anymore I could get it. Although honestly I’ve never thought about it when I’ve been at the beer store.... I usually “cook” Indian once a fortnight, so I should stock up.
:think:Here's a question for all you Pioneer X users
If you could only add one tool to the Pioneer - would it be the scissors vs the saw? Has Victorinox already released the only two useful additions to the Pioneer or is there something else you can think of?
Noting that they would have to be full-size tools - only the scissors, saw, file, pliers, and scaler are options as far as I can tell.
I'm sure many would like an inline Phillips.
But if you could swap out the scissors for one thing - what would it be.
Personally, I can't think of anything
I love that awl. Why do companies keep copying the Vic can opener but not the awl?
:iagree: Unfortunately, mountains are somewhat scarce in these parts.
However, I do have to walk up 8 flights of stairs to get to my front door (but I'm not sure anyone wants/needs to see a pic' of me after that  )

I love a good Indian. I was born in a part of London that has a very high asian population (Asian here is used to descibe those from the Indian subcontinent)
I love it HOT (with a capital H.O.T.!) as cooked by families of those I grew up with :2tu:
I don’t mind it a bit hot, but nothing like you describe :salute: ! My wife on the other hand...the options they give are mild, medium, or hot. I have to say very mild for her, and even then...
I don’t mind it a bit hot, but nothing like you describe :salute:! My wife on the other hand...the options they give are mild, medium, or hot. I have to say very mild for her, and even then...
I know what you're getting at. Not ALL Indian food (collectively, and wrongly, called "curry") is hot.
Moreover, I really do not dislike those dishes which are, by their very nature, not hot. I just object to those that purport to serve (restaurants, I'm looking at you here) dishes as being "authentic" when I know they are not (think central London or, quite frankly, central anywhere outside of India)
My oldest friends are Indian/Pakistani/Bangladeshi and laugh openly at some of the dishes we call "Indian" (think onion bhaji etc.)
One of my favourite dishes is Chiilli Paneer (just google it, it's easier) but the clue is in the name "Chiili" and it is supposed to be "warm" :ahhh
I'm also a HUGE fan of Vindaloo*. This is often a misunderstood dish (mostly down to the Brits to be fair ::) ) But, if done right, is a very pungent and not as warm as you might think (it's not a Tikka Masala though; which is a British created, so be warned)
NB: *Vindaloo is traditionally done with Pork, having come from Goa and therefore was a Christian dish (inspired by the Portuguese who introduced the Goans to vinegar)
Anyway, having digressed (greatly) here's a pic' of the PX helping to cut some Rosemary from the garden (required by herself, obviously :twak: )
I have spared you the usual Tomato shot... :dunno:
Wow a true Indian Takeaway expert :like:  Not an expert at all, but thank you :hatsoff:
Indo-Chinese food like Chili Chicken and Hakka noodles are excellent. It's influenced by Chinese folks living in northeast India.
Vindaloo is one of my favorites when I have nothing to do the next morning. When I go for that I usually choose beef because that's what I usually find available instead of pork around here. It stands up to the spice better than chicken, I think. And you're right, it's Portuguese influenced from Goa where Roman Catholicism is very prevalent - so all meats are fair game. (see what I did there?) Some of the most amazing beaches in the universe are in Goa, and it's a go-to unwinding location for Israeli soldiers when they leave the military.
I'll drink a Kingfisher in your honor.... If I can find one.
:like:  Not an expert at all, but thank you :hatsoff:Ok so, I'm replying to myself (not for the first time  )
Just fortunate to have grown up with first generation Indian immigrants :tu: (google Southall, west London if you're bored) who still made it; like their grandmother/mother used to
I'm also a big fan of Kingfisher (can't abide Cobra) However, should you find it (anywhere) try some Bangla :drink:
Looks great EB!
Thanks for posting the book Surge, my wife has Tried to make Indian food a couple of times, but it’s never turned out quite right. I like the paneer too - the takeout place we use now has “shahi paneer”. The other great restaurant we used to have was in a really old (well, by Canadian standards!) hotel that burned down and the owners moved back to Tanzania (I think? It was the island Freddy Mercury was from). I used to get palak paneer there.
Another tangent - my hometown isn’t known for much (Bobby Hull, 1957 world hockey champions, we used to have the jr. hockey team P.K. Subban played for (and he was in the gr. 11 biology class I taught, but that’s another story!)). One thing not hockey related was we had a world famous poet Al Purdy (Charles Bukowski once called him the only other living poet besides himself that was any good, or something like that). Anyways, Al wrote a poem about that hotel, I think it was called “at the Quinte hotel”. I stayed there on my wedding night, lol
Day 25
No jobs today, my wife even brought me out a beer so I didn’t even open one of those! A couple of glamour shots modelling my new P7 clip. I felt naked today, I couldn’t feel it in my pocket and kept thinking I didn’t have it!
You suddenly reminded me of my 10th-grade chemistry class. There were orange rubber hoses connected to many of the faucets on the benches, and there were several extra rubber hoses that were used to connect the Bunsen burners to the gas source.
The teacher was doing a demonstration, and couldn't get a flame out of the Bunsen burner. He found a crack in the hose where it attached and needed to trim that off. Unable to find scissors in his desk he asked the class if anyone had a Swiss Army knife! One of my classmates said - "Why would anyone have a Swiss Army knife?" The teacher says - "I don't know a lot of people do, aren't any of you Boy Scouts?"
:o I was a Scout at the time, but in my younger days I was into single blade lockbacks. And I didn't bring mine to school with me.
These days that wouldn't fly. I believe in the US all pocketknives are prohibited in all schools, federal buildings, and courthouses.
:like: Glad the suspension clip is working well for you.

I hate it when my thingies get loose. That's why I think it's better to carry the opener layer on the Pioneer X instead of the Combo tool on the Compact.Nobody needs "loose thingies" :ahhh
though I think I need an Alox Bantam in my life.
 to you to surge!
I saw you said you're from London. My stepfather was from London, too. Not entirely sure which part, except it is the part where they cheer for West Ham! He had to be moved out to the countryside (Preston) for a while to live with relatives as a child when the bombings were going on.
I am indeed from London, albeit from the other side from where your stepfather hailed from.
To be honest, if you google West Ham (football aside) you will see that it is at about 3 o' clock on the map of London and I am from the opposing side (about 9 o' clock)
That is quite a distinct change in the demographic and, if you are into football, could cause some "issues" (we do seem to love a fight over football here in the UK :td: )
Thankfully, I can not abide football and prefer Rugby. I know that Canada has a team, or two, but for those who don't quite understand it's like "American Football?" just for men... :duel:
NB: It also helps that we're not too bad at it, unlike actual football
As for being moved to the countryside (Preston, in Lancashire) could hardly be called the countryside (I have been there) It was, and is, a large industrial city in the north west of England but, certainly greener than West Ham.
Moreover, as a young lad from West Ham (evacuee) this would have been the arse end of nowhere and, as a fan of "West Ham" I'm sure the fans of "Preston North End" would have greeted him warmly...by the throat :megaslap:
All joking aside. He was sent to safety and would have been welcomed but, might have had a tough time as "soft shandy drinking southern ba*t*rd" :pok:
We used to call it character building :dunno: (kids are cruel buggers though) :P
Thanks for the reply! Now that you say it I do remember knowing West Ham was at 3:00 - I wasn't sure why West Ham was in the East!
By Rugby I hope you mean Union, not that other weird thing called League! We do play a lot of rugby in Canada. The main regions it's played have mostly been BC and Ontario, but the last little while it has spread quite a bit. I've heard commentators from traditional rugby countries say that we comparatively have really good club rugby here, they don't understand why our national team isn't better. I'm pretty sure that it's because of the elite level players are all playing hockey instead. I played with a guy in high school that was amazing, he ended up playing in the NHL for years. I am in fact an old broken down rugby player (mostly a flanker but have also played #8 and lock), in fact I only stopped playing a few years ago when I got hurt playing hockey. We have an "old boys" league +35 that I played in, and as I aged played for the mens 2nd team. I also have coached my high school team for 15 yrs. Most of the guys I played with also had a dislike for your type of "football", however I lived in Germany a few times and developed an appreciation for it. Probably because that was the only team sport I could watch!
DAY 27
Ok, so today didn't really happen (late finish last night) So, the PX was confined to opening mail today
Anyway, here's the post glory shot of my new SAR "Thin Orange Line" velcro badge and wrist band (with added PX) :salute:
Thanks for the reply! Now that you say it I do remember knowing West Ham was at 3:00 - I wasn't sure why West Ham was in the East! There is a "West Ham" because there is an "East Ham" :D Although it wouldn't be apparent if you don't live here (and you don't  )

I was "TBL" previously and I am currently TOL (volunteer role) For the day job it's TPL (purple if you were wondering)
Well between you and me... I used to be on the TGL. I'm not on the TBL, I just know what it is.It's a team effort and requires all of us to come together and look after each other, regardless.
It's a team effort and requires all of us to come together and look after each other, regardless.
If you didn't do what you did we wouldn't be able to do what we did (and others still do) :salute: :hatsoff:
Indeed - though I must warn you that identifying the TGL will take a good amount of research, as I realize it probably isnt the TGL that you think it is. Some clues: I believe the TGL is akin to the TYL in your neck of the woods, and the TGL isn't in that color nowadays. :salute:I thought (perhaps wrongly :dunno: ) that it was to do with Security (and or dispatchers if you interpret it as the TGL/TYL)
I thought (perhaps wrongly :dunno: ) that it was to do with Security (and or dispatchers if you interpret it as the TGL/TYL)
The trouble is that what is represented by something "here" is not quite what's represented "over the pond"
For example; I have been; over the years: Military (regular & reserve) Security (mostly investigation) Prison, Police and currently Customs/BorderForce (TPL here in the UK) I am also a Search & Rescue Volunteer, which is the TOL? :ahhh
It gets too confusing when there is no parity.
Regardless, I salute you :salute:
Day 27
Package duty - opened a new phone stand to help with new WFH responsibilities.
Am I the only one who thinks the face palm guy  is Jean-Luc Picard every time I see him?
Nice! Has the transition to working from home been smooth? Were you doing any before?
It is Jean Luc Picard
haha really? Then they did a good job!
Good that you're getting some stuff done remotely. Do you think you will stay that way after (if? I'm staying positive) there's a vaccine? I think there will be a number of fields where they will realize after this that some stuff can be done more efficiently/better in ways they've had to adapt to
Day 28:like: :tu:
Today I made a riff on baked beans. I added enough ham and bacon to make it a meal, along with some crusty bread. There's an onion in there - one must eat their vegetables. Oh, and there's bourbon in there - one must quench one's thirst. It tastes great.
Pioneer X opened the can of beans, and sliced the onion.

Day 28Nice group SVL!
Not much use today. Here is a pic with some other red Alox :D

Glad you got some veggies today! Plus...barley’s a plant, right?
Also in case I forget on Tuesday, thanks for organizing this EB! I really enjoyed it. Learned a lot, too! (Also found some more ways to spend some $$$)
Day 28Ouch! Don’t forget before you saddle up!
Not too much today. Was out with the family for a bike ride/picnic and sliced open a package of cheese. No action shot, so here’s one posing on my bike.
DAY 28
Another late one yesterday (I didn't actually get in until today, 29th ::) )
However, I did manage to use the PX to adjust the door hinges on an ageing Ikea wardrobe, before I was called in to work :tu:
Have a good day all :salute:

Looks good EB! That’s definitely the most detailed review of eating an apple I’ve ever seen!
Day 29
Just opened a few packages today bIt no action shots. Here’s my PX posing against my daughters “fairy door” in the garden. :dunno:
What a lovely shade of red. :dd:
Day 29
I had setup a temporary fence a while back, so the dogs wouldn't run in a newly seeded grass area. The grass has grown enough by now, so the fence was no longer needed. Used the can opener to pull the staples until I could grab them with the Spirit. Joint effort

Looks good EB! That’s definitely the most detailed review of eating an apple I’ve ever seen!:iagree: I have just ordered a box of Vic' apples in order to eat them in the approved "EB" manner :salute:

what have you got there above the wardrobe? That would be the hat for my Number 1 Dress Uniform :salute: (it's my uniform wardrobe, in the spare room)
:pok:
My favorite Alox color. My least favorite cellidor color. I know, I know :dunno:
Well SVL, my children think it’s hilarious that I like peanuts but not peanut butter :dunno:
Day 30
Final Thoughts
Another challenge in the books. I'd like to thank everyone for joining me on the ride - on such short notice. This challenge is one that I'd been looking forward to, as an actual challenge. In our discussions on several threads. day in and day out, we go to and fro trying to come up with the ideal Swiss Army Knife for EDC... on practical terms and also technical ones. I had EDC'ed the 1961 Soldier model for more than a decade when I caved in and added scissors to my system. First it was in a Vx Classic, then a LM Micra, then a Vx Compact... I never liked the 2-Tool combo method - either tool becoming a One Trick Pony for very long made me want to reevaluate and try something new. So my tried and true Soldier which lacked only scissors could easily be replaced with a Pioneer X - it's a no brainer. Or is it? We all seem to find that the Pioneer X is inexplicably heavy - more cumbersome than the similarly built Farmer, or even the larger Huntsman or Swisschamp.
While I've gotten somewhat used to the PioneerX in terms of weight, truth be told, I'm reminded that it's there at least once a day. One uncalculated replacement of the suspension clip on the pocket edge, one switch of which leg is folded over the other at a meeting at work, one unmindful placement of my keys or a granola bar into the same pocket, and the PioneerX makes its presence known.
Regardless, based on everything else that is good about the PioneerX, I will continue to carry it as the advantages are significant.
Again, thank you all for the lively discussions and photography. I'll see you all in November for the Minimalist Challenge, where I will be in the fray with the Compact. :hatsoff:
I'll add my thanks for a most entertaining thread and challenge. :hatsoff: to all the participants
Thanks for an awesome read, everyone! Great pics and uses! :like:
Good work, y’awl, it’s been following this one, sad I missed it as I was on the 30/30 challenge on the Edge tool threads! Congratulations on completing the Pioneer X challenge!
Thanks for starting it, EB :salute:
I agree with your conclusions, as I have found the same true for me. For some reason the PX does not feel right in the pocket. I cannot really explain it :dunno: After the challenge I will go back to the trusty Pioneer/Spirit combo. Found after the Fieldmaster challenge earlier this year, it is still my go-to combo because it works great for me. The PX will find its place in my tool drawer again, only coming out every once in a while.
Day 30I would like to echo your words on a brilliant challenge (which I failed at ::) )

Since i'm a recent PX convert user, this thread was a joy to read (and watch). Thanks :tu:
I got a little baffled however by some of your thoughts on the PX.... Some of you actually feel the PX is heavy and cumbersome...? ???
I'm intrigued... I don't feel that at all. I was carrying mainly a Climber before, and it doesn't really feel heavier that that to me, with pretty much the same main tool set. And it's much less cumbersome and overall easier to use than than Climber. It's the same thickness as the Compact, and it has 3 layers.
I have to say that after moving to the PX as an EDC that a lot of two layer cellidors (maybe not the Compact) feel like light toys to me now...
DAY 30
Getting todays one in early (just in case I end up working again ::) )
I was asked :twak: :pok: by Mrs Surge to repair a trellis fence attachment on an adjoining wall (not our wall)
The PX flathead screwdriver was put to use and the problem resolved (until such time as the wall crumbles that is :dunno:  )
I really like the glow fob. Can you please tell me where you got it?
P.S. I can't remember if I already asked this same question. ???
Here you go Jazz. I was pointed in their direction by GearedForwards :hatsoff: who had ordered some different things :tu:
