Title: Remco 3 blade fishing knife
Post by: Noa Isumi on March 17, 2017, 08:41:05 PM
Here is an odd one I found digging in the junk bin at my favorite pawn shop.

The brand is Remco but nothing else. My google--fu skills have failed me on this one. I only foud one other that sold on ebay sometime ago for an unknown amount. The archive was on a a subscription appraisal sight that I wasn't going to sign up for.

So now the datils: large blade, fishscaler w/ bottle opener, and a gaff. Both the gaff and the knife have been tortured on a bench grinder to sharpen causing them to over heat as evidenced by the colors. The handles are that old style hard black plastic that used to be common on knives and straight razors.

I've seen these sold under the Abco/Absco? brand.  Bob (Jsews) has several of these.  I have a fishing tool set (knife body with multiple exchangeable) blades that has the gaff/gill hook.

Not sure which German company made them but I have seen them listed under several different names.I have one marked Fish Saver with a fish logo and Johnson on the tang. The Germans seemed to have a real flair for fancy fish knives;I have quite a few unique ones in my accumulation.
