Title: A message from someone you may have heard of
Post by: Grant Lamontagne on July 04, 2008, 02:26:36 AM
I got this message recently from Tim Leatherman, and I wanted to share it with everyone:

Dear Friends at Multitool.org-

Congratulations on your second anniversary. I can remember back to our second year here at Leatherman and it was very busy; so I’m sure you have your hands full.

Please extend a big thanks to all your contributors. All the pages of great discussion and insight are excellent. It’s so nice to read comments from people who are as passionate about the design and functionality of multi-tools as we are.

Have a great second year and here’s to many, many more for multitools and the folks who review them and hold us all to a higher standard.

Regards,

Tim

You might be right LM123 , Tim could retire early if we all bought 4 Surge's  :P . That is great Def thanks for sharing Def

That was until he saw the MT.O video with me in it and found out I EDC a SURGE!!!  Now I'm his favorite!

While I can't divulge any of the identities I know, I would like to point out that all the major manufacturers, with one notable exception, have people reading this forum and checking out the reviews and Multitool Encyclopedia.  Taking advantage of independent and honest information like this is what puts companies like that at the top of the game.  Still, it was fantastic to hear from The Man himself!  Apparently we made a bit of an impression on him at the SHOT Show! :D

Leatherman tools are great, but the man himself is truly a legend. I find it very impressive that Tim can take time out of his busy schedule to wish us well. :multi:

Ok, now I'm convinced that Leatherman123 is on LM's payroll!  He is way too enthusiastic about the surge (e.g. THE SURGE!!!!!!!!)   Plus he just uses way too many exclamation marks!

Also, what about Spoonrobot?  That guy's reviews are just a bit too professional!   Plus how does a guy just happen to know what Diamond Layer Coating is??

Reveal yourselves!!  Let's see some income tax returns!!

lol, yes may we run through the streets of Portland yelling SSSUUUUURRRRGGGEEE!!!!!!!

In honesty the Surge is an awesome tool, and quite literally the biggest of them all. You sure your not getting paid by Tim to say such good things about it? Not like your lying to anything, but free endorsment don't hurt 'em at all.

Portal is a game released by Valve.  The evil mad computer controlling the facility you are trying to escape from mentions a party where there will be cake served, but there is a hidden area where a previous test subject trying to escape had scrawled "THE CAKE IS A LIE!!!" repeatedly on a wall.  It quickly became an internet meme.

If he wants to send me one I would give it a fair shot, but with the cost for me to go out and pick one up I don't see it happening.I do ok as a Truck Driver, but with the cost of fuel my wife and I have been cutting our expenses any where I can.

Today's Dirty Dozen thread necro is this one- a message that Tim Leatherman sent us for our second anniversary, ten years ago.

What cooler thread could there be than a message from Tim Leatherman and a portal reference?  Toss in a Punishment Chicken or two and we have ourselves a party!

It absolutely is!

One of the drawbacks to bringing these threads back is that it reminds us of how many friends aren't here anymore.  I guess it's time to start a new thread welcoming back missing members, and see who responds.  :D
