Hi all, i saw a swissbuck by chance today，it's packed in hanging cards。But here comes the problem：1、I've never seen a 120 mm hanging card package.2、The picture on the package uses the blade of Buck 425，I wonder if this knife really uses Buck's blade？3、The top right corner of the package has the words “made in America”，are there any Swiss Army Knives made in the United States?Because there is only such a picture and no physical object，so I'm confused。Who can help me,thank you.

Hm, interesting! I don't know anything about Swissbucks but that one looks awesome!
If the price isn't insane I'd definitely buy this one if I were you! (but then, I am a complete idiot with money.)

SakWiki lists the series as made by Wenger from 1991 to 1998 in Europe for exclusive sales in USA by Buck.
That model shown is a collector/survivor.
The prime feature is the clip point blade.
How much? And where found?

SakWiki lists the series as made by Wenger from 1991 to 1998 in Europe for exclusive sales in USA by Buck.

Yes,I found information about it on SakWiki,But the number of the knife is87552C，Does this C represent card packaging?
This picture was sent by a friend.I don't know the collector's information, but he's not going to sell the knife.

Using a generic card is reallly odd. 425M was the steel the Bucks of the 1980s and early 1990s used. And the SwissBuck was obviously not made in the USA. I'm guessing though, the sheath might have been made in the US (though I suspect China) and packed in the USA; but still not enough to mark it "MADE IN USA".
That's a great find! I'm still trying to find a user that doesn't cost $100.

I think you're right. the knives are sold in Buck's packaging. :cheers:

I would suspect that Buck made the main clip point blade and then imported the rest of the knife from Wenger to complete assembly in the the US. Otherwise, the duty tax to import the blades to Wenger and then the import fees to receive the assembled knife in the US would make it very pricey.

As soon as I saw the post/pic the blade jumped out at me as all wrong!
LC - I can't see Buck putting a Buck blade in a half assembled Wenger knife or building from the parts.
And as we know, and per the Wiki - SB packaged the Wengers themselves.
So my theory is 100% Wenger made Swiss Buck model in the 'wrong' packaging.
It does look like a Swiss Mate II - As I think you can see the top of the pliers
I guess your collector friend will not open the clamshell - I hate clamshells and always want to open
- But deffo not in this case - As I think it is a packaging/manufacturing error!
A good check would be to inspect the blade in the package - He should be able to tell if it is the Wenger clip-point stle with a straight top or Buck style with the concave top!

I agree completely. Gotta be an error card they used to pack it .One, it says "MADE IN USA"; it's not. Secondly, "Velcro Closure Sheath"; when you can clearly see it has a snap. Oddly enough--I think all the nylon Buck sheaths of the era had snaps; at least what I'm familiar with.

Just noticed - The product code on the label matches the SB Swiss Mate II (Two) code in the Wiki
I think we have our answer!!
(Or should I say SB Swiss Mate 11 (Eleven) - As per the label !! :pok:)
Also why is it in French? ..... I am assuming export to the Canadian market
Maybe that's why the packaging is all screwed up!
Eg They did not want to make new packaging for Canada? ???
