My leatherman charge tti jams/gets stuck when I'm closing it. It gets stuck on the side where the bigger bit driver is located. It jams between the bit driver and the can/bottle opener: it seems to press in between. When this happens its extremely difficult to get it unstuck. I must force it open again.
I'm using the screwdriver bit a lot. And its getting very annoying and I'm scared I may damage my beloved tti. It was always doing this since I've bought it brand new.
Is this a common problem? Anyone else also experiencing this same problem? Is there a solution to this problem?

same problem with the surge, ( thread: http://forum.multitool.org/index.php/topic,41606.0.html ) as it says you can either send it in or try to fix it yourself

Sounds like the little support tabs are bent or broken. Look closely at them and see. If they are bent down try using a little pair of needle nose pliers to gently bend them back. Worked for mine. If that doesn't work, off to LM for repair.

I have the same problem with the Ti. It only happens with the pliers open as I have posted on the same surge thread.

Yeah I'm having similar problems. I just got a brand new leatherman charge TTI and after playing around with the pliers a couple of times I experienced this annoying tendency for the pliers to get stuck by pressed against the scissors after having closed the handle. Not all the time but some times. Damned annoying. I was thinking of taking issue with the store but I guess it's a quality issue with LM in this product line (Surge, Charge, Wave ....). Really disappointing.

Welcome to :MTO:  Make sure your scissors and all the rest of the tools are all the way closed and the pliers as well :salute: If that doesn't stop the jamming then what are the datecodes of the Charge  Also pics would help to show how it is jammed in there :tu: Hope you can sort the problem becasue if it is an older model but new stock then it could be the plier stop on the inside of the handle is either bent or snap off :ahhh if that is the case then it is a warranty issue and it would have to be returned :(

My BO wave plus does the same thing >:(
It happens about every 5th time I go to close it.

My 08/12 BO Wave does this every now and then. I just have to be careful not to keep squeezing it closed if I feel it start to bind. Opening it back up and closing it again always seems to fix it.

Like Poncho said, it is likely the pliers stops inside the handle channels are bent over a bit or broken.
If we could get some up close and personal pics of the insides of the handles.
