Excellent vid mate :tu: :tu: :tu:
I do prefer single bit axes myself as I'm never doing "earthwork" with them, and do like the poll when splitting so you can invert a stuck log and bring the whole lump down poll first ... but that's just what I'm used to ... even if double bit does look     :D
I'm amateur myself. I've never hung one or done much other than the most basic sharpening really, though I did have to do some reprofiling of a hatchet with a file once. I know what to look for in choosing an axe and how to use one without my limbs falling off, but my experience is pretty much limited to processing firewood.
I'm looking forward to playing with your double bit axe too :pok: :D :D :D

Fantastic video !
Not understanding the language I was wondering what the brick work under the floor was for and why no chimney for a fireplace ?

Good question. My guess is that the stonework is to stop damp rising up the woodwork from contact with the ground.
Of course we do have a one or two Finnish members, so we could always ask them. :D
Let's see if this works.

I have missed this thread completely.
Stone work is for circulating air, and keeping moisture out. They built also a cellar, to keep food in there. Stone work also helps in that.
As heating goes. They did not mention it any point, or build anything to support it.

robs, you need one more post to be able to send PMs. It's a security/anti spammer measure we have, members with under 5 posts can't send PMs.
