This is my first post in this sub-forum, so please forgive any terminology that is not correct in regards to rescue knives.
I found this at the store I work at today and paid $50. Seemed like a good deal at the time considering this isn't the Chinese Remington stuff here. This one is made in Italy. According to Remington's site, this was a small run item for several years and is discontinued now. The single blade versions can still be found around the interwebs for about $100.
This version is the model #19848 "Premier Rescue Escape".
Specs are as follows:
Handle length = 5.4" long
Handle thickness = 0.85" thick
Handle width = 1.53" wide (back to front)
Blade length = 3.75" long
Serrated portion = 1.2" concave shape
Plain edge portion = 2.5" sheepsfoot shape
Strap cutter length = 3.3" in length
Inside sharp edge = 2.3" usable
Weight 8.42oz
The handle scales are nicely textured with a fairly comfortable grip when holding it tightly for its' size. The only sort of cheap looking thing about this knife is the grip-tape like white inserts, but I get this would assist in locating the tool in brush or debris.
The knife has two layers. One has the blade with a classic liner lock that works very well with the lock bar stopping at 50%. The other layer has the strap cutter. It is fully auto spring-loaded and uses a small button on the blade side to deploy/unlock. There is a sliding lock switch recessed next to it for safety. This functions well too.
At the butt end of the knife is a heavy-duty glass breaker that is incorporated nicely into the handle.
The sheath is outstanding and extremely well made. Looks to be made to mil-spec and is molle compatible. Heavy duty ballistic nylon construction. It can be worn vertically on any size belt and worn horizontally on a thinner belt. The closure is velcro and seems to be decent quality. The knife rides a tiny bit high when inserted into the sheath, but I am sure if you need a tool like this, a little weight isn't a big deal. This is only due to the fact the sheath doesn't seem to have been made quite long enough.

I found a Remington rescue knife from an Australian seller. It had only the main blade, just like this one. No hook blade though. The seller would not send it, so, bummer.

That is so lame the seller wouldn't send it. Maybe you'll run across one again at some point! It is definitely a sweet looking main blade and built like a tank. :)

I have had the $40 non-auto, one-blade version (can't carry an auto in Virginia) on my eBay watch list for a few months, which is $40. I like how the serrations are completely separated from the non-serrated portion--makes sharpening easier.
That looks like a great knife for anyone in the emergency services or even as a large EDC blade.
By the way, I think I might have found the reason for your sheath dilemma--the seller of the single blade mentioned that there was a smaller version--perhaps that's what the sheath was designed for and they didn't bother slightly enlarging it for the bigger blades.

Thank you for the info, cody! I would bet that is the case! The sheath would likely stretch open some with extended use, but that is a big oversight for a first responder tool. :ahhh
The blade is appealing in that regard for sure. And, I must add, this is absolutely the sharpest knife out of the box I have ever gotten. The serrations glide through phonebook paper. :)
