Mine today :tu:
Any news on the pocketwatch? I seem to recall you saying you dropped it or something like it. Managed to save it?No go on the watch. They will fix and replace the internals, but not the case or glass. So my pocket watch is done and just setting in my desk.

Stick it in my pocket. Sometimes I use a leather sheath I made for it. To be clearer, I wear carpenters pants so it goes in one of the side pockets on the pants leg.

LOL, here are a couple pics with the new scales. I had some Cuscadi scales on this before but the screws holding the scales together weren't very secure and the scales had a bit of play in them. Wasn't very reassuring.

Well sir, I don't like it. I don't like it one bit. There's few things in this world I thought I could rely on. One was the sun will rise in the east. Another was my newspaper will be delivered before 6 am, and the third was that campussecurity was going to carry a Hercules and a Wave. You've ruined everything!

I posted this photo of my pocket contents in the Gadget forum.A few nice pieces there, what make is the orange screwdriver does it see a lot of day to day use? Also how do you like the cobra and knife set up thinking of trying that out myself but with a tinker instead of the leatherman knife.

I've noticed most people here carry some type of flashlight as part of their EDC. I would like to add one to my basic EDC posted above but I really hate lots of things in my pockets and I never carry a purse. Since most people here are men I'm going to assume most of you don't carry a purse either. How do you carry your flashlights?

Thanks to everybody who offered flashlight info. I will check out the ones mentioned as well as some others. Even though it will mean one more thing in my pockets I am probably going to try the keychain flashlight thing if work will let me bring one in. If work gives it the ok keychain carry shouldn't be a problem when the weather cools off. Florida heat and humidity can be a real challenge to EDC most of the year though.

Also what noteboook is that? I've been looking for a small one, and I really like the look of that pen
This is the most weight I carry whenever I'm out of home, generally in Winter time when clothes allow. Only flashlight is not pictured

September 7 pocket dump. There's a BIC lighter, a flashlight, a hanky, my wallet, and a few sharpies.
My current pocket carry is this;

I find it to just be an 'okay' multitool for the keyring/keychain. I think I'd like it better if it were smaller, more like a Gerber Shard's dimensions, but not so small that the wrench cutouts would be useless, at least working with a hex bit. The pry tip is a little bit thick and a tad too wide for common screwdriver use. Might could use a V-notch wire stripper mod. I do like the stonewashed finish and the bottle opener works alright. ;)
Here is a lightweight pocket dump for me.
Cool watch. Mine is slightly different. I like it but I´m not very happy with the wrist band. I´ve worn out 3 in like 7 years. The watch is running on its 2nd battery.I had the same issue with mine. Lovely watch, but poor finish on the strap. That one is just something I bought locally and fitted myself.
Thank you! :)Here is a lightweight pocket dump for me.
Cool. :tu:
What is that knife, have you shown it before? Is it assisted, auto or is that side button the lock? :salute:

I had on a pair of jeans with small pockets my big folders wouldn't fit in and tried that knife out for the first time.
It is a smaller Gerber full auto assist. The switch on the side locks it out and in. Unlock, touch the thumb stud, and blade swings out. I don't know the model number, but would buy an extra if I found one. :tu:

aah it definitely has the Gerber looks. It sounded so familiar, mainly because I had a very similar looking Gerber years back (Gerber AR 3.0) :tu:

Is that a modded Zebra pen?
:pok: :pok:
I upgraded it with a Fisher Space Pen ink refill years ago. :D
While not the greatest or smoothest of writing inks as far as ballpoints are concerned, the Fisher refills can write on multiple surfaces, in a wide range of temperatures, be left in storage for years and still write when needed, where many pens stock inks would fail, dry up, or run out of ink. I find them to be dependable and budget friendly. ;)
Upgrade you say?
While I carry my Fisher everyday if I was being honest I have to say it is just not a great writer.

Decided to try a new EDC: Executive instead of Midnite Manager + Nitecore Tube.
Didn't really use the led light and pen (awlways carry other pens with me). The caddy is good for keeping things protected and in place, better than the belt clip.

The Executive is underrated. Lots of useful tools in that slim SAK. Really nice carry with the Nitecore. I look forward to hear how this set up rates as compared to your previous set up. :like:

Right now, I'd say better. Two blades allows for "dirty" work and food prep. The handle size gives it a better grip. Thinner than the Midnite Manager (still don't miss having the led light and the pen, other EDC items cover this), so it's more confortable to carry. Two new EDC items: T&T.
Probably going to replace the old setup.

That's a Harvester. :)
That's something I’ve never seen, a 9v light. Very cool :tu:
Stormdrane, I had a 9V light just like that (but with a glow in the dark housing). I loved that light. Not sure where it is now. But the minimal design is great.
However, that light once got a long hard look at a baggage check in an airport. The TSA agent was very curious about why a traveler would have a 9V battery carried attached to a small bit of electrical equipment. I think he thought it might be a possible power source for a bomb or something. A few minutes explanation got me through, but there was a moment where I thought fear and ignorance might cost me a cool little light.
I'm not sure where it has gotten to now......
Wow, you don't see the Flair being carried much these days.
:like: :like:
And Gareth, how do you like the Style PS?
I :like: the pocket dumps, glbm :tu:Thank you, CallsignBadger!
Missing: Lufkin Executive 6' measuring tape(forgot to remove from pocket).
Today's EDC pocket dump is a 2005 flashback (first time I'd carried them together), with a Camillus Heat pocket knife and Nuwai Q-III LED flashlight coming out of the gadget drawer for a turn in the rotation...Nice! :like:

A friend of mine, a graphic designer, awlways carries one with him. It's called a "thread counter" and it's very useful to check details in graphic work.

I like those "rubber" or "elastic"bit sets a lot, :gimme: more than the rigid ones, as they curve and adapt to the sheath or pouch you're carrying them in :tu:, and also they have excellent bit retention (I've had bits falling out from rigid bit carriers like the Red Victorinox one or the black SOG Bit Set )
here is the mag glass, and indeed Pfrsantos was right, it is excellent for threads, filaments and sewing too :salute:

mine did not come with a pouch though, or if it ever did it was lost along the way :dunno:

I was thinking the same. Be careful. We keep a spare hidden on the property. I've used realtor key lock boxes too.

The sheath was a surprise gift from a friend of mine. He is an older gentleman that has been doing leather projects and caning work as a hobby for decades. He is current working on a new design for holding the Surge and bit sets/blades that is more compact. :)
Thank you.

good on you GLBM on adding variety to the carry, to achieve a Balance. :cheers:Thanks, TP!
and now you've Switched it again :D
I am still carrying the Spirit like yesterday, but changed the SAK and light for two more tactical-ish (well, they're just black) ones for Tactical Tuesday,
and if yesterday it was coffee to be had, today we're having tea (Apfelstrudel Tea from Germany) to make up for Tea Tuesday too. :hatsoff:
Unwittingly, and I just noticed this; none of my carry today is made in China.
Not really important, but kind of neat that most of it is U.S. made, except the Watch (Japan), SAK(Switzerland), and rings (Mexico). :multi: :climber:
Very nice. TP!
Oddly enough, I am the opposite :D. Of what I'm carrying, everything is made in China! Only the SAK and my backup Cold Steel are from elsewhere :ahhh and it was not intentional:
- Byrd Cara Cara 2
- RCharlance Black Multitool
- Lansky Blademedic Sharpener (I think )
- Multi Allen Wrench OPT
- 18650 "SWAT" Zoomable Light
- LED Lenser P3
- Two SAKAlikes for grooming, hygiene and small stuff
I am ashamed to admit this, but I bought a second NXT this morning, so I could carry one (OCD thing..haha).
It does carry well and is fairly well executed (aside from splay, but that can be fixed).
Thanks TP! It is definitely better than the cheap-o no-name tools. But, you and I both know, I have a boat load of the cheapies hidden throughout the house as well. :rofl:I am ashamed to admit this, but I bought a second NXT this morning, so I could carry one (OCD thing..haha).

no judgements from me, even the humble NXT being the lower grade MT from Gerber,
it's definitely better than any of these cheapos I found scattered around the house,
some of which I daresay have an even bigger and more awkward splay than your NXT :dunno:

The splay hasn't bothered me enough to fix it...yet. Time will tell, but I wouldn't grab anything as big with the NXT that I would grab with a Surge or whatever. :ahhh
I love that you can OHO the phillips and scissors on the NXT. You can also OHO the blade with a little practice. And the other tools can be opened one-handed(flip tool over in hand and use one fingernail to pull out the tool, flip tool back and finish extracting the tool with your thumb), because they are spaced well. :)
Thanks, RF! :cheers:I would be down with that :like:
Maybe next year we could work on getting a Gerber Suspension(OG, NXT, Trust and variants) challenge going. :)

My very first Multitool was a knockoff bought me for xmas.
It was in the purest terms......useless.
I used to drool over leatherman tools, but the cost was prohibitive.
I bought my first leatherman about 7 years ago, it was a wave and I was in heaven.
But it was quite heavy, a little bulky and had to be worn on my belt, a problem in Australia.
I bought my first wingman when I was in Canada a few years ago and loved it, small enough to pocket, but functional for nearly everything.
I have a couple now and bought a few for my son and brothers in law.
Agree with you on the wallet, but mine is quite thick, just empty of cash.
I have to carry my licences, and credit cards.
In my industry I need a damn licence for just about everything and you are required to carry them.
I have a good systen and it has been refiined a bit over the years.
WOW
you must have big pockets.
That switch blade would get me arrested in Australia, seriously prohibited over here.
Nice collection though.
I have a small torch, see above, it looks small but has a serious LED and a 4.5 volt battery.
Cant use it for too long though, it gets quite hot after a while.
Bought it in China.
Yesterday´s dump. Cards pöuch, keys, cheap¨flashlight, cheap lighter, a few SAKs and a Trapper.:like:

My work carries see two MT sheaths (on for tool and one for bit/blades). Off work carry revolves around pockets. :ahhh
I hope that the international laws are changed one day, but I know the frustration of knife laws, as I lived some years in NYC. :ahhh
Pocket carry goes like this:
MultiTool(bqck left pocket)
2nd MultiTool(hooked on belt lool)
Watch(wrist of course. hehe)
Knife(watch pockwt in jeans)
Lighter(front left shirt pocket w/ smokes)
Light(clipped to inside front left pants pocket with cellphone next to it)
Loupe(it's flat, so front right pocket)
Measure(it's flat, so front right pocket as well)
Pen(front left shirt pocket with smokes and lighter)
Comb(front right pants pocket wih flat loupe and measure)
Wallet(back right pants pocket)
Keys(clipped to belt loop).
It works well, but took years of trial and error. :ahhhYesterday´s dump. Cards pöuch, keys, cheap¨flashlight, cheap lighter, a few SAKs and a Trapper.:like:Week day carry:like:
Thanks for the advice, Valkie! My back has always been well, as I haven't and don't do anything more than necessary to get by properly. And compounding the lame lifestyle is that I've been fortunate to have not been in any serious accidents. I'm not an adventurous person at all. The only thrill seeking I do is collecting MTs/knives and an occasional hookup. Haha
Camping for me is a tent full of packaged snacks and coke zero.
I do have an issue with weak connective tissue in my tendons. I work very hard and exercise enough to keep my weight down, but I was just born with weak tendons. As of right now, my right bicep is permanently non-functional and my left Achilles tendon is ruptured 60%.
Anyway, all I was trying to say is, a boring lifestyle can be a good thing, but watch that weight. You know already that a bad back and packing on the pounds is really bad(just a friendly reminder)thing. :ahhh

I wonder if our excessively heavy EDCs are causing tendon issues?
Hy, GLBM, another thing we have in common :D
I have issues and problems with tendons since teen years, and have had to do exercise to strengthen and lengthen them for lots of years :dunno:

I do antiques restoration. Anything from old telephones to 8' tall wardrobes. I'm always needing MTs (two at once sometimes), bit sets/blades, lights, measuring tapes, loupes (detail work), lighter (melt filler wax and awful smoke), and watch (I am obsessive about time). On my off-days, I over-carry, because I am used to having certain gear available. I carry a very slimmed down EDC on off days and rotate the tools I carry for fun. I collect MTs and watches, so that is why I am always posting different EDC setups. I have about 30 "user MTs"(doubles of collection pieces, of which there are almost 240 collection MTs).
I am single with no kids, so I buy stuff I don't need all the time.
I hope my reasoning makes sense, Valkie.
A very interesting and admirable set of hobbies and side-projects, Valkie.
I love clocks and have always liked the really really antique wooden-movement clocks. The only clocks, I encounter in my day-to-day life, with wooden movements are more modern Cuckoo clocks. Thats some cool stuff you pictured there. I imagine it takes great patience to build wooden clock mechanisms.
Tomorrow's Halloween pocket dump.Nice gear :like:
MultiTool - Leatherman Charge AL.
Watch - Invicta S1 Chronograph.

How do you like the veff serrations on the CRKT knife?
Thank you, RF!
I like the veff blade. The serrations are easier to sharpen on a semi-circle fine-stone. And they cut rope like crazy. :)
I like the knife, but hadn't thought about it until another member posted his today. I had carried it earlier this year and liked it. The locking mechanism is different, but easy to get used to. The thumb stud unlocks the blade to fire out. Kind of cool. :)
New EDC tryout which started yesterday! The sak on house key is a Rambler!Very nice setup. Lots ofbased covered there. :like:

If you see an Ignitor for $20, I'd recommend getting one. It feels and functions like a $50 knife(my example does anyway). :)

excellent stuff, especially lovely the flat loupe and the rescue knife, which seems like all the blade you need in addition to a pointy MUT blade :salute:Firstly, very nice combo as usual, TP. :like:
You forgot to mention the SAK (Swisschamp XL? ???) and the weird round thing it seems to have attached to it :dunno:
But, all in all... All bases covered! 8)
PS: is the rescue knife a button lock, or is that button for automatic opening?

How do you carry all of that? In a backpack or on your person?
Double belt sheath(close body style custom that doesn't catch on stuff) for Charge and bit sets. Measure and knife in front right clipped in leather-lined pocket, light in small sheath, mag/chapstick/level in bottom of front pocket, marker and pen in front left shirt pocket, sak in back left pocket. Wallet in back right pocket, and keys hang on belt loop.
It is actually a fairly scaled down carry for me. Usually I have a sak explorer and gerber pinchy(for the blunt pliers) in the back left pocket. :tu:
I wear suspenders underneath my wprk shirt(over an undershirt), so I don't feel any weight at all. A good belt is also a must, as sheaths will warp a cheap belt.

I carry some wierd items with me.Yo happy, you might as well claim your first badge. They have one for Duct tape usage! Oh, nice setup, you must have a lot of pockets. ;-)
I am always tinkering so the calipers are crucial. I use OnShape on my phone to mock up ideas on the fly. I carry a flashlight that doubles as a POWERBANK and pairs with the small cable in my wallet. I also carry a One+ 6T (taking the picture).
The wallet is something I made myself and is based off of the Dango Pioneer. (https://cdn.shopify.com/s/files/1/1981/3079/products/everyday_redline_1024x1024.jpg?v=1518678180)
I wanted to have a notebook in my wallet that used standard 8 1/2 x 11 " Paper cut into 4. That way I could always replenish it.
I am still toying with the pocket design and arrangement. I love that it has held up so well and that the majority of wear is on a thin piece of duct tape that is easily replaceable. This has been carried for 2 months every day, and still looks excellent. The wallet has a velcro pocket, a quick deploy card slot (left side), a cash/notebook slot (still working on this), and another card slot (right side).

Good thread. That's a sweet carry, tuckerdog1, but there is a huge problem. I mean huge. No MT or SAK in your pocket dump? :pok: :D
The 1911 didn't come out of the pocket. It goes on the belt. The LCP however is a pocket item. Good to be in Texas :woohoo:
Desert Eagle rocks, Tuck! Nice carry. 1911's are classics, here's one of mine with a friend. :like:Your combination tastes, with metal and/or composite materials, are outstanding, eTrip! :o

Ya got my envy juices flowing. I think a 1911 looks best when the slide is clean ( no billboard ). That Razorback is fantastic. Got a couple 10mm myself, but nothing as nice as that. The normal Glock 20 & a Ruger SR1911 in 10mm. Let a really nice STI Nitro 10 slip through my fingers last year, and I'm still kicking myself for it. Used gun, I offered a grand & the seller wanted $1100. Both too stubborn to budge.
This pocket dump isn't quite genuine. I do not carry this 1911. Just a tad too heavy for me. At least, I avoided the missing MT blunder this time
That Ruger is sweet! I would like to get a GP-100 Match Champion in 10mm, to go with my Lew Horton S&W 610 pictured below. Perfect revolver for back-country treks, or hog-bustin'. The S&W 625 in .45 ACP is another favorite. Sorry to derail this thread. But, handguns are a large-part of EDC in America today.

Very nice combo, Serena! :like:I'm trying to carry it for a couple of days now. But to be honest… It's so heavy. I don't use the saw, don't use the pliers and actually miss my toothpick. Hell no, I'm missing my Explorer.
How are you liking the Wave+ so far? I think their execution of the Wave pliers and replaceable cutters made for a top-notch product. :)
Hey Serena. Would you consider sheath carry for your Wave? Maybe it might be best suited for bag carry? Also who say you cannot ALSO carry your Explorer .Yep, it's going back into the little EDC pouch which sits in my purse.

If one sheath makes a fool, then I must be a moron with a double sheath and flashlight sheath.

I had not seen that belt before. I like it & will have to pick one up. Here's one I don't wear any longer, because I got too fat. The leather is cheap, so I might have another made larger & with better leather. The buckle has use.

I'd rather have it and not need it than to need it and not have it. Been that way since I was a kid in the 70's.
I carry pretty much the same stuff for sometimes years (I don't rotate my carry) so I can reach into any pocket and know exactly what's there. Usually the only exception to this is if I upgrade stuff, although I'll occasionally change out main knives. Same goes for work pants, the main 4 pockets have the same stuff as my off work carry.

a loaded gun just in trouser pocket . . . would give me nightmares
We each have to do what works for us, but a P365 with thumb safety in a pocket holster is - in my view - 100% safe. The trigger is covered, there is nothing else in the pocket, and the thumb safety is another layer of safety. For many years I did not like a thumb safety, but after carrying 25 years my views have changed on that. We are most likely to have a negligent discharge while holstering the gun, and a thumb safety almost eliminates that risk. But again, each to his own. How we carry, or if we carry, is very personal and everyone is different.Hear, hear! Same with the little S&W Bodyguard I posted above...long, hard double action trigger pull, thumb safety, and everything covered by a pocket holster, and nothing else in the pocket...it would take quite a bit of effort (and stupidity) to make the gun go off unintentionally.
Today I have a P365 in the pocket, with thumb safety and in a holster, and I feel completely confident its not going to go bang in my pocket.
I managed to set myself on fire
Well I am perfectly capable of effort and stupidity. I managed to set myself on fire, so I don't see why I wouldn't manage to shoot myself... ::) :DLol, I know the feeling :-)

My 2021 EDC…
I had to dump my pockets today to wash my coat and clothes since I accidentally poured gasoline (British petrol) on myself.
So yeah, I was totally carrying all this around. I forgot I even had the tape measure in there. When you weigh over 300 lbs. and work outdoors in the cold, you can accumulate a lot of gear in your pocketses.
:ahhh
Love what you had in your pockets. :like:

A quick pocket dump while in the playground.Excellent carry nitram, particularly the mod 61 :like:
Excellent carry nitram, particularly the mod 61 :like:Thank you. It’s a well used 63 so I don’t feel the need to baby it. These knives are a bit thicker and sturdier than a normal Soldier, it’s great. :)
Tell me when. G
I would like that, thanks, Farmer. Do you have yours?I have mine, and I'm awlways happy to help others earn theirs. Just PM me and Gary about 24 hours before you're ready to post your request.
My little group today. Wenger watch, Vic minichamp, RR Whittler, Lumintop Frog.
Good morning Diamond,
It is raining hard here. No going out for me this morning, so my current carry is really not very much. I have used the phone this morning and red mini did the fingernail duty. I hope this works for your badge. Best wishes. Gary

Chevy S10 pickup keys - used like a side-by-side on my propertyTwo questions must be asked: what year is the S-10? (I've driven a few over the years; the ones with the 4.3 liter V6 and a 5-speed are great fun.) And what state do you live in? You see an extreme variance in temperatures!
My current carry is really not very much.Is that the MiniChamp that wound up in the box I sent you not too long ago?
Wenger watch.I have a Wenger binder that is in dire need of a cleaning, but held up admirably well over 15 years. Perhaps I should get a Wenger watch.

Is this the new D25A?
Today's little group. Vic Delemont Evowood 10, Boker mini, Lumintop Frog (in truth I like the bigger battery and body more, but that on to charge ATM), Citizen Ti watch.Nice carry, great pic. Wood with the watch band
Yes, I have finally conceded that reading fine print is beyond me and that I seem to try and do it enough that carrying reading glasses is a good idea. :-\ Cheap, off the shelf things that are close enough to my real prescription that I can leave my vasty more expensive glasses at home.
I've not seen one of those little pocket mazes in a long time. Great fun, if a little frustrating at times. :D
Man, I need to start carrying some cool little toys with me.
Are these the ones you've confiscated from the kids, MTSAK? :D
🤣🤣🤣 no quite the opposite. I bought a box of 200+ little ducks from Amazon and when I'm put in the halls or at recess duty, I stash them around for kids to find to put a smile on their face. So I've always got a few in my pocket.
