Who's idea, or how did it come about that the word "smurf" would take the place of ; smurf, smurf, smurfhole, smurfer, mothersmurfer, smurfhead, and so on... :whistle:Papa Smurf.

It's my fault. And it was never meant to last.The word smurf is perfect and there couldn't have been a better fill in!
In the early days I had set the censor to change bad words to "Colorful Enunciation" because that's what Knifeforums.com did and I modeled a lot of the MTO forum off my experiences at KF.
At some point I decided it needed to be changed as "Colorful Enunciation" seemed a bit awkward, so for a joke I changed it to smurf to see how long it took before people noticed and to buy some time until I figured out a better way to change it. I had considered changing the words to lesser offensive versions, like smurf to poopoo, smurf to fornicate, smurf to giggy and so on, but smurf took on a life of it's own and now it's pretty well here to stay.
If anyone thinks it needs to change, let me know, until then I'll just keep wearing my wrissmurfch when I swim in the salsmurfer beaches around Ssmurfhorpe. :D

No, not particularly common, but I am an Australian with a lower socio-economic upbringing, so I do use the odd vulgar word for emphasis from time to time :D :pok:
