I already have more SAKs than I need or can use. I carry my Wenger SI daily and absolutely love it.
I have bought others to try but I always end up back with the SI.
I already have two Pioneers that I never use. But I just bought another off of eBay. I just couldn't help myself!!! I blame it on the seller... he only asked $25!!!!! How could I pass that up??
Top pic is my small collection. Missing from the picture are my SI and my Vic 111mm Centurion as they are both downstairs and I'm too lazy to go get them! LOL
Other pics are of the blue Pioneer I just bought. The guy ground off the key ring nub and got into the ALOX a bit, hence the low price...

Oh I know my collection is small. But I never use anything but my Wenger SI, so I guess it's nuts to buy others that will just go into my knife box.
Haha

Nothing wrong with that
No point in having a knife box if there's no knives in it :D
Still no intervention needed :D

Hmmm... If that's a problem, then everybody here has the same problem...
Wait til you run out of knife box space... then there's a problem which is actually not a problem...

Seriously. I feel you. And the wife is raising concerns even when I only have 4 SAKs.....for now :twak:
-
Oohh you don't have a problem mate... It's a perfectly normal number for a user/enthusiast, and next to nothing for a collector... :D
I'm a Sak user/enthusiast (non collector) and i have about 40 of them in total... :ahhh
Lot's of duplicates (backup's) of the ones i use the most, no different colors or scales but just exact (classic red) duplicates...
The wife it pretty used to it by now. Between Sak's and playing 5 different instrument's (with a home studio filled with them).
Hey she already met me like this, you know... That helps... :D

This ^^
The problem is when you run out of space for your non collection. I have 2 back ups of my favorite 85mm Tinker. I also have a back up Swisschamp. The others I've collected along the way were for "testing" purposes. Maybe begin to trade the ones you know you wont use for SAKs you've been meaning to try? I've also found that later down the road I have some back to SAKs I've tried and not connected with. The bummer is when I've given a SAK aways and later go back to it but have forgotten I've given it away.
-
I just realised that I don't have a backup of my bladeless Woodsman, which is my main EDC SAK. :ahhh :ahhh

Okay, look at me. Give me your attention.
You don't have a problem. Okay, so you go a little over board by "normal" standards collecting SAK's. Look at this way; you're accumulating one of the most useful objects known to humanity, They will let you deal with everything from a mild auto problem to fixing home appliances. Second; they don't really cost a lot. For the price of a chain restaurant lunch for two, you get a SAK. That's a del in any book. Try collection firearms at many hundreds of dollars a pop! And it's certainly less harmful than compulsive gambling, doing drugs, or being an alcoholic.
So, if your wife objects, ask her to okay the price of that new trap shotgun for 4,000 dollars! Or the new Harley for the midlife crisis at 20,000!
She'll see the light.
-
I was just kidding about the wife. She just rolls her eyes and shakes her head when I get all giddy over another delivery. Then she laughs at me! LOL

I got carried away on purchases for a while, and have gotten a little behind in offloading the surplus. After I've done that, I'll probably still have about 15 to 20 users. I was hoping to get it down below 10, but that doesn't include the ones permanently living in first aid kits, other kits, and the kitchen drawer.

I can relate. Everything is going to be okay. One of the great things about used SAKs is they usually hold their value, so you can awlways throw it back in the pond... I'm currently getting rid of many...

The only problem I have with my eighty SAKs (give or take a few) is that I canĀ“t carry them all at the same time. :D
-
I'd like to have your problem, as mine does not actually fit in the knife box I had for that purpose (never thought I'd end up with so many SAKs in so little time, caught me off-guard )
A bit off ropic, but what are those is ee on the background?
A LM Wave, a Cold Steel folder, and the one with the weird clip and 3 screws, is that a Leatherman folding knife?.
Anyways, nice collection and keep on the sickness!! :salute:

Good eyes! From left to right is a Cold Steel Finn Wolf, a Gen one Wave with NiteIze clip and finally one of the new Skeletool KB knives.

Oh, you do have a problem. Its a small one- you don't have enough knives. Don't worry, MTO's trained enablers are standing by to help you.

It's not a problem in my mind, the knife looks great. I've got a problem with sub-$20 knives that are pre-1950 in good shape, as well as certain rare/pricey knives with a price under my $20 budget, when they are typically a whole lot more than that used. And peasant/budget knives that are $10 or so. I've had crap I'll never use that was junk, and knives I've found to be pretty good value for their price (i.e. Opinel, Rough Rider, the Bahco branded $7 Mora Clipper). I'm currently waiting on some Antoninis to show up to try out, six cost me less than $30.

Actually, shopping addiction is a real addiction. I think I suffer from it as well.
Sometimes I help myself my telling myself there's some kid out there who wants it too, but isn't able to compete with me financially. So I just walk away and let it go. I just tell myself that I could be taking away some kid's FIRST pocket knife and I don't even need it. So I walk away and tell myself I did a good thing. So far, I haven't missed anything I never bought.
