Great stuff everybody.

I don't want to sound stupid since I'm new here, but is there any real difference in the Classic and Classic SD? All I see is a difference in the shape of the nail file. Am I missing something?

You nailed it mate ... Classic SD has the flat screw on the tip... Classic has the nail tip... Everything else is the same...

Thanks.  It all makes sense now...SD probably stands for screw driver.  I'm a little slow sometimes but I eventually get there.

That Hunstman looks really nice now :o
Thanks... Yeah, certainly beats the worn down blue translucent one which has a little crack and thus makes it loose...

I wouldn't have changed the translucent scales if it didn't have the faded color (doesn't show in this pic) and a crack... It's true what people say... Slap on new scales and there good as new...

Pearly white SC, '85 vintage with grooved uncorker, screw together scissors, no 'pat' on mini SD, silver tipped tweezies, no hook, and narrow pliers.  :)

Shown with it's SG-inspired new home, the red pouch with Swiss cross and Vic shield since the knife itself has neither.  :)

The flagship of my modest collection.  :tu:

I don't have an all-white SAK - a half is the best I can do.
The other side of the Spartan on the right shows the French flag.

But I just noticed something interesting. Look at the Victorinox logo relative to the corkscrew....

Knights in white cellidor, reaching for my wallet
Buying me another SAK, tho I don't need it at all

Beauty I've always missed, with these scales before
Just what the best tool is, I can'y say anymore

'Cos I love you, yes I love you, oh how I love you

Gazing at Leathermans, some in black oxide
Just what I'm going through I can't understand
Some try to convince me, into getting Gerbers
Just a nice white SAK though, what you'll be getting in the end

And to contribute with some relevant content, here's my white "Super Yeoman". :) As I'm doing the 30 day Explorer challenge, this is my pick for today.

P.S.: Intorikata, don't take this "Super Yeoman" the wrong way, I'm not making fun of you, it's all in good humor.

Guys, guys - I was just messing around - I have a buch of Climbers. I also posted it in the "lastest SAK" thread with a  :whistle. after "Super Spartan."

First white though. I love it, especially with a black lanyard or black suspension clip. I'd love to get one of the PS models with white scales, but I figure that black coating isn't going to last too terribly long.

Normally I'm just an alox guy, but my first SAK (before I really appreciated them) was an Outdoorsman (I think?) in black, so black cellidor looks good to me too. Then I HAD to get a Stayglow. Then two, then three, then silvertech caught my eye...you know how it goes. Seeing all your killer white ones, a colorway I would have turned up my nose at not so long ago, I decided I needed some white cellidor in my life.

I can quit any time I want.

Thanks. The plant is Schizobasis intricata (current taxonomy has it Drimia intricata, but dollars to donuts they'll move it out of that bloated genus and back to Schizobasis when that group gets another round of DNA testing). It's a bulb with a wide range in southern Africa that likes to grow wedged between rocks and also on cliff faces. On cliffs the bulb often grows exposed. It doesn't put out leaves in the adult stage, only long-lasting wiry flower stems. Easy to grow, but slow - the plant in the pic is at least 7 years old or so.

We get it in my country (South Africa). Called the Tom Thumb hyacinth... nice!  :like:

I’ll keep an eye out for one when I’m next at our local botanical garden and see it I can snap one in the wild...with a SAK of course!

Mine actually came from seeds from a plant collected south of Jansenville. Though I think the Tom Thumb hyacinth is Drimia uniflora, a close relative.

Forgive the double post, but this one's for you, Max. Amost everything I grow is from South Africa. This is one of the beefy Fish River area Haworthiopsis reinwardtii. With the white Climber, of course. Just outside the frame to the left there's a pair of Euphorbia bupleurifolia and to the right is some Plutosvale H. attenuata and a few Gasteria.

I got this pre-owned white Bantam in today, but it doesn't have any markings on either side of the scales.
Maybe they are custom scales.  :dunno:
